  1. Round 4: Dedicated to our fellow SQ B777 pilot, LeeCH In the meantime, the SQ B772 decided to come out of hiding... Closer....louder.... Dedicate this to all RR Trents loving 777 pilots. Here I am waving like an ape on steroids and they didn't notice... Taxiing away to Runway 02 Lining up Imran, your EK making her way in...
  2. Looks great to me Fairul. Thanks very much for sharing. I really enjoyed the BBJ. Very very white and clean! The night shots are also very nice.
  3. Thanks Norman. Thought I might make things a little more interesting. It was nice to see a pilot doing his walk around. Sorry Seth, I could get the ang moi to turn around. I was waiting for the SQ B772 when I saw them boarding already. More coming later tonight.
  4. Cheers S V. As I was there for a short time I did manage to get 1 QF domestic. Also I did wait long enough for a QF B763 to come in. All will be posted soon. I was hoping to get some Origin Pacific but found none. Have they decreased their fleet size? I haven't seen many of them for a long time. The new uniform is for all ANZ staff. Having seen the new uniforms, I don't seems to mind but I still feel the hat a little weird. The pilot uniform also looks plainer. The bands on their coats are now silver rather than gold?
  5. Round 3. 'I heard a rumour that my paycheck ain't far away now...maybe it's here...' 'Maybe here?' 'A little higher?' 'On the propeller?' 'In the sky?' 'Right...fly first, money later!' By the way, this little guy seems to have found it's way back onto the taxiway. Or did it? Maybe it spotted this... Raj, you may be right! More EK?
  6. I've only heard of one or two occassions last year when some of the carriers was diverted due to heavy fog. It's quite unusual for heavy fog to hang around AKL into the afternoon. Unlike WLG where it happened, something like every two days at one stage last year? So you Aucklanders, please inform me if there is any heavy fog coming.
  7. Nice photos Edwin. Thumbs up! You went back to Malaysia for holiday? How does it feel being in 36C?
  8. I checked the schedule but I couldn't stay too long so I decided to go early afternoon to catch the main widebodies. Korean B772 is not coming back to NZCH until summer. Most B744 flights are early morning or evening I think. I did make a quick trip around to try to catch some USAF aircrafts but found none. Guess they are all away in the South Pole. What do to?! Okay, Round 2. Thanks for all the comments so far. Hope you are enjoying them. Close up on the AeroClub. I hope to join them one day when I have more $$$. Instructor: "Turn left onto the next taxiway" Trainee: "Turning right onto....err...what did you say again?" G'days: Off to another domestic destination:
  9. Take em. I don't mind a tiny bit. Only time when I hope to see other airlines coming in is when there is a heavy fog in NZAA. I have heard of MH B772 diverting to NZCH last year during the fog but I was in uni at the time.
  10. Woohoo! Nice raj. All the different aircrafts and airlines you managed to get in NZAA makes me so jealous.
  11. Cheers Raj. Having seen your spotting photos I figured it's only fair that I contribute something down south. You want more ATRs, I want more widebodies! I wasn't there for very long but long enough to catch a few widebodies. I'm using Minolta Z1 by the way. No money to get DSLR, although very tempted. Thinking of getting S3 when it's out and the price is lower. More coming.
  12. Being the last day of my term holiday and all, and having so many of you going spotting I decided it's time for me to go get a smell of Jet-A fuel before going back to study. In NZCH that is... So here goes... The usual domestic traffics in NZCH: ANZ B733 and ATR72 And some foreigners: Leech, please don't park so far away...we don't bite. Before Imran starts going off with his 'MANA EK???', here...it's delayed by 20 minutes by the way. That smoke by the side, it might have been fire training. Must be fire training season if you ask me. A few more to come...slowly.
  13. Thanks for sharing Raj. As usual, I always enjoy the traffic at AKL. The weather hasn't been great in CHC either. Rain rain the past few days and forecast more rain! Waiting for more pics. Btw, anyone in CHC?
  14. Woot woot! Azahan and Emperor really pulled it off this time. Ranging from roaming freely on the tarmac, to the King and TF! Did I mention, getting all those 'bonuses' along the way? Many thanks to you guys for sharing all the cool photos with us. Awesome!
  15. C'mon guys. Keep the heat down in MW. Pontius, mind telling us a bit more especially about the AK checklist? Perhaps you work with AK?
  16. Thanks for the information Uncle Norman. I always wondered how they separate out the domestic and international passengers. Now I know. And thanks to you, Azahan and Emperor for all the great shots. And of course my respect for all the guys working the in tower so hard at night.
  17. Thanks again guys for the exclusive photos taken! Jonathan, it is indeed a very nice overview of the new LCAT. Funny how Air Asia parked their new toys together away from the older toys. I guess they are trying to keep away from A vs B war! Cheers again guys!
  18. You guys really crack me up in this thread! With all the jokes and humour...it's the best thread yet! Of course a big thanks to all you guys for sharing the photos taken on the day. This thread really shows MW at its best! And....the power of the darkside.
  19. I agree with the comment why it takes 2 years and not 2 months. E-ticketing is certainly not something new. Having said that, it has proved itself with many airlines around the world. Take NZ for example. It has never been easier to book and pay for a domestic flight as everything you can do online. In some ways I think it will also attract more potential passengers. Believe it or not, there are some people at home clicking around on their internet everyday and if they happen to see a good deal they may very well consider it. I have known people who have taken a quick holiday just like that. If I were MAS, I would at least get e-ticketing up and running for domestic flights as soon as possible.
  20. Hmm...from the map it looks like passengers have to take a nice long scenery tour around the whole KLIA before arriving at the LCAT. Hopefully they will make 'faster' falternative transportation in near future.
  21. Woohoo! Finally a B744F in MAS colours. While it's sad to hear that some passenger 744 may have to leave, it's sure a happy sight to see some new 744F coming.
  22. Welcome back to NZ raj. How I miss the wing views. But many thanks for sharing with us your photos.
  23. Just to share some shots I took today in CHC. Just a little curious, are there anyone else in this forum who is in CHC?
  24. The airport personnel on the aerobridge must be thinking "Oh dear, we're going to be in BIG trouble this time!".
