  1. Now I have excuse to tell my friend we're not going to Koh Samui soon... Looks like it's getting more serious there...
  2. I'm sorry for the spotter, but this airfield is really cool... Can I touch the landing gear of the plane passing above my head, papa? I promise I'll be really careful...
  3. Really, Seth... The security comes just before you enter check-in area... Remember now?
  4. Imagine you're at the controls in the flight deck... You lifted off... Then a few seconds later you're going down... Nightmare... Condolence...
  5. It does look like a plane crash, like what's happening at Madrid lately... Any temporary change in approaches into and departures out of Changi?
  6. Crashed at the most cirtical window of time of take off, huh? Condolence to those involved... R.I.P. to the perished...
  7. I was advised of the same situation when I took off to Jakarta two months ago... But it didn't happen...
  8. Fablee, are you a crew of Eva Air? Eva used to do Taipei-Singapore-Penang-Singapore-Taipei everyday in the past, and they stopped for a few years not long after 9/11, and I learned that they are doing Taipei-Penang-Taipei now, a few times a week... I liked Eva's 767 doing traffic for Rwy 22 at Penang back then... Fablee, I have some photos of Eva's 763 in Penang from 2000, though...
  9. Yes, I think the difference is between American and British, and as many term differences, there are minor differences in which the terms apply to. In essence, the terms in comparison mean the same thing; only the description varies. Sorry, but an instance for a similar situation escapes me at the moment. Perhaps, "apartment" and "flat"? Or "lift" and "elevator"? Good that Min Chun brought this up, though I was oblivious of the thread early on. I've been thinking of the difference as well...
  10. Hehe... I had similar ones a couple of times, too... Not drunk either... Just thought I could take a nap while waiting for the boring cruise to end...
  11. What! They send 734 in to KUL? Happy birthday, Malaysian Wings!
  12. Just like a simmer putting on a transpacific flight and then going to bed, only to wake up and discover he's not enough miles to descend to LA or San Francisco...
  13. It's down with the belly; nothing up with the nose...
  14. TK, downwind at what altitude?
  15. I didn't have the intention for the names to be made in public, nor did I want to know their identities or would that be any use or knowledge to me, but it was just that Gavin's post sounded as if they are known to him (which is convincing) and perhaps he could share with the rest of the forumers. That's not necessary should that be impolite. Thanks for the pic! The tail looks fine from the outside, though. First time I heard of a tail strike on landing.
  16. Who is the captain and who is the F/O?
  17. Wah, sounds interesting... I wonder what a landing tail-strike is like and what it's like being in the plane... Please shed more light on the incident if there is any... Thanks!
  18. TF appears to only know how to devour of others without appreciation... Whether he traveled with MH or not but he was granted such a privilege for a rival...
  19. Is it front-wheel-absent landing or completely belly landing? I wonder where the propellers go with a belly landing...
  20. Oops... Missed the kicking reverser visible there! Did you get it in its return leg?
  21. Bob, do you know if that's CI 674? The shot was taken around 6.55 pm?
