Nick C 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2008 SKA - Sydney SKB - Heatrow SKC - Tokyo SKD - Beijing, just cater for olympic? I feel that the pairing of the aircraft with in the order of the routes is purely coincidental with the rotation of the aircraft. SKE should be in service by July allowing heavy MX with the rotation of aircraft. SKF will most likely come just before the Olympics thereby allowing a 4th route to be served once the A380 Olympics flights stop.
Andi C 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2008 Singapore Air's A380 Flight to Tokyo Diverted on Bad Weather By Chan Sue Ling May 20 (Bloomberg) -- Singapore Airlines Ltd., the only operator of the Airbus SAS A380, diverted the plane's inaugural flight to Tokyo due to bad weather. The flight was diverted to Nagoya, airline spokesman Stephen Forshaw said in an e-mail reply to Bloomberg queries. ``A safe landing could not be completed at Narita, and after the pilot was advised by air traffic control of strong winds and low-level wind shear, the decision was made to divert to Nagoya for fuel, and to await clearing of conditions at Narita,'' Forshaw said. Andi C 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2008 How ironic is that? So in history, 1st commercial A380 flight (or 1st commercial A380 landing rather) to Japan landed @ Nagoya's Chubu Centrair. I felt sorry for NRT/RJAA after all the hype & 'hoopla', this historical event/title 'snatched' away & it happened on their 30th anniversary!!
S V Choong 4 Report post Posted May 20, 2008 Fortunately it didn't have to land at another country - ie. Korea or China.
