Theme park for KLIA

Recommended Posts

That would be a fabulous idea. But some early MAS B737-200 would have either crashed or broken up by now. It would make a centerpiece exhibit. I think there is one surviving plane from the initial order that became 9M-AQL-AQQ

Besides the B737-200, a F27 would also be a great display. Of course it has to be covered so the displays don't end-up rusting in the sun like at Sg Besi. MH had a mini museum at the HQ building in Jln Sultan Ismail. It was interesting with all kinds of items from day one on display. Any idea what has happened to it?

They had one? Too bad I didn't get to visit it as surely it is gone now. There was no publicity about its existence.

Because over here, they think having us being so close to the actions is Dangerous! (i wondered) this was told by the 2 disturbing high ego AVSec who chased us away the other day...

Not really. The idea is to develop a 'KLIA town' to cater for the future population/business growth around it, which is inevitable. The KLIA-Nilai highway is already earmarked as the next expansion area, with KLIA town at one end, and Nilai at the other. The airport will just be a part of this growth corridor.

It's like building a 100,000 seat capacity world class stadium but the stadium management only manage to host 3rd league matches that attract 5,000 fans...... and the home team is happy enough to play with those 3rd league teams though they have dropped from the 1st league. Now they replace hot meals that used to serve the fans during the matches with snackbox. The number of fans may even drop further to 50....

At the same time more and more 1st league teams are playing in neighbours stadiums, eg. MU, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Milan, Real Madrid, Roma, Porto, Barcelona...etc and more and more frequent they play on the field, from once a week to once a day or even 2-3 matches a day ! Of course their home teams are getting stronger and stronger too.

The management could not generate enough revenue from the 3rd class matches. They gotta find alternative solutions to attract more fans :

1. Invite 1st league teams to play in the stadium - NO

2. Improve home team performance - NO

The solution is ..... build a permanent facility for a circus next to the stadium in order to keep the 50 fans (of course they know the circus is not going to survive with just 50 audience.....but one thing for sure there is a piece of cake for them to share during construction of the facility, so who cares ? )

P/S : my mistake, the number of fan should drop from 5000 to 4650, not 50 because 93% of the fans like the snackbox !
