Loh Wilson 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 09 May 2008 I knew this picture going to pop up someday. Great catch !! I think this is a schedule flight for every Friday. I was having (late) lunch at Sg Nibong Astaka (near the Pesta site) when I noticed a plane coming from north heading for Rw04 landing. It was 3pm and the plane has 4 engines.... hmmm... CI delayed? Back to office, checked the Flightstat.com (sorry, PEN so lousy that it does not even have a website, let alone the Arrival & Departure info) and it showed CI is delayed 44 minutes and the equipment of the day was A343!!! Excited. I went to my office top floor, waiting for the delayed departure in the conference room (boss wasn't in, that's why ). Since nobody ever captured CI's A343, with the company's P&S camera, I got this... (but it was cloudy today) Departed at 3.57pm, 30mins delayed (captured at 4.06pm, the camera's time) Pardon me for the lack in detail of the pics.... the camera only has 3x zoom I caught it once too

KC Sim 2 Report post Posted May 18, 2008 Thanks Bob . . . for showing us the planes that go into Penang Airport. Makes me want to just grab a bus ticket and head that way . . . Love the Kuzu Cargo A300Fs and all the other freighters. I hope that CX Cargo's B744BCF comes our way sometimes. Glad to see that you are having a ball of a time photographing planes in PEN. More shots please. KC Sim

Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted May 18, 2008 Thanks Bob for the wonderful shots, esp. the Kuzu one (they used to fly to AMS before, but haven't seen them for ages here ) Are they operating their own services, or flying for FedEx or UPS ? Good to see 'different' Indo airlines at PEN

I might be wrong here , please don't bomb me That's correct, the Kuzu Cargo was operating Air Hong Kong flight LD831. Air Hong Kong flies on behalf of DHL. T.Y. Bob LEE 2 Report post Posted May 24, 2008 Friday 23 May 2008 Not exactly a good day for shooting due to the hazy conditions, but nonetheless here are some shots for viewing pleasure. Once again, presenting the all-white PK-KAD operating 3Y073 on PEN-MES. You can see how hazy it was. Anyway, shoot these Air Asia 737s while you can before they leave the fleet! After arriving from BKK as LD831 at around 0830h, the Air Hong Kong A300Fs usually sit idle until they depart at night. Hence it was a bonus today (despite the crap weather) to catch it departing at around 1045h for HKG as CX078. I wish it had been one of the Kuzu Cargo aircraft! T.Y. Bob LEE 2 Report post Posted May 24, 2008 Thanks for all your comments, guys! I decided to skip all the usual stuff in the morning today, and headed out in the afternoon to try for the CI673/674. This flight is operated by a variety of aircraft types, including the B737-800, the A330-300 and A340-300. It's just unfortunate that heat haze was a serious problem.
