Waktu gue di Suroboyo!

Recommended Posts

I was in Surabaya last week. Met some friends there and we went to several spots around the airport! Indonesia is indeed classic heaven!

First spot, on the roof of Fahmi's place...

SUBTrip-125.jpg

The chair provides the much needed elevation.

SUBTrip-24.jpg

We are on the highest spot in the neighbourhood. Yay!!

Excellent place to catch birds on finals for Rwy 10.

First catch. Blurry and out of focus... too excited... hahah

SUBTrip-32.jpg

Lion looking fierce

SUBTrip-42.jpg

Batavia's Victor-Charlie A319. Do they send this bird for KCH sector?

SUBTrip-54.jpg

Pak Adam's Kilo-Lima. Regular visitor to SUB. 10X daily from CGK. Gotta lurve the B732 engines painted in orange!!

SUBTrip-72.jpg

Luuuuuuurrrrvvvvveeeeeee the long classic MD in simple Wings colour!

SUBTrip-81.jpg

Indonesia AirAsia B733. More of her sisters will be joining later to grace Indonesian sky...

SUBTrip-96.jpg

Garuda's Citylink in artistic colours, as if to brighten the dull cloudy sky that day.

SUBTrip-108.jpg

Hardworking Sriwijaya's superclassic B732!

SUBTrip-121.jpg

Another Adam on newer B734

Thanks.

Fuuuuh, damn nice place to spot aircraft in landing actions, if only the sky was good that day your shots would be excellent... nice batavia A319, if only they sent her in instead of the usual B732's... <_ src="%7B___base_url___%7D/uploads/emoticons/default_drinks.gif" alt=":drinks:"> Love it bro... and more please???!! hehehe :pardon:

It takes two or more "running-around-the-house-and-up-and-down-the-stairs" children to humble even the toughest men :pardon:

Sam, you asked for it...

We then moved to the end of Rwy 10 near the fence. An access road to the airport terminal runs across.

SUBTrip-240.jpg

Inscription found at the spot. Caution, woman ghost at night.

Could see the Merpati workshop from here

SUBTrip-243.jpg

too bad the vegetation blocks the view of the a/cs

Here it comes...

SUBTrip-245.jpg

SUBTrip-247.jpg

Belly of a Lion

SUBTrip-250.jpg

Tail of a lion

SUBTrip-283.jpg

Belly of a Batavian lass heheheh

SUBTrip-269.jpg

Belly of Mbak Sri

Then we really had to make a move. It was going to be a very heavy downpour at Juanda!!

SUBTrip-282.jpg

SUBTrip-297.jpg

Scaryy.....

Then we proceeded to the terminal. And got caught in the rain on the way there.

Great shots, Ewan :yahoo:

Amazing how similar this old SUB tower looks to the one we had at Schiphol (now East Terminal)...Dutch design ?
