kianhong 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2009 (edited) For warbirds, classic and vintage lover, these were some of the special aircraft I caught taking part in the Australia Day flypast. Cessna 180. Still carrying RFDS (WA) titles even though owned by a private owner. Cessna 170 Warbirds! I won't blame u if u think these aircraft are going to war. There're so many of them. Queen of Hearts. Chipmunk DHC-4 Swiss Aviation Bulldog. Very sleek looking warbird. Christen Eagle II Tiger Moth & Boeing Stearman. They were part of 'Formation Alpha' which consist of 8 warbirds that departed in pair. Nord 3202. Very interesting looking main gears. Nanchang CJ-6. Smart looking grey, nice departure from the usual military green. Getting a bit too close. Piper L-4A. Military version of Piper Cub. Tiger Moth & CASA Jungmann Beech D18-S Trojan T-28 Piper Cub from Air Ads The black shiny Fox Moth! And the immaculate Stinson SR-8C. What a beautiful machine. Some special visitors as well. Not one but two Lake Buccaneer. Sky Arrow 650 Cheers. Thanks for viewing. Edited February 4, 2009 by Pieter C.

MIR 2 Report post Posted February 4, 2009 Wonderful shots, Kian Hong!! Love the Beech D18-S Fox Moth looks quite unique to me- pilot sits at the back in an open cockpit & passengers in an enclosed cabin at the front . The "music" of those classics must be really amazing ! Thanks for sharing

kianhong 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2009 Very happy to see this 60th Anniversary Edition 1947-2007 Beechcraft Bonanza G36. Though look very similar like what SFC's flying from the exterior, this Beechcraft Baron G58 is almost a completely different aircraft to me, especially the avionic. Lucky to get two Police PC-12 togerther (VH-WPE & VH-WPY) Very cool cockpit of this Police PC-12. Cheers. Thanks for viewing.

TK 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2009 N530WC... Regular SZB-Seletar... Now in Perth...wooo....so far... Is the G58 Baron pressurize? I think so with the look at an intake above engine cowling. Jandakot seems to have many many PC-12....heaven

kianhong 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 Modified engines ? 1st time I see those air-inlets on top of the cowlings... It's still the same IO-550 300hps engine but equipped with full glass cockpit. Probably G1000 like the Bonanza. Those are engine air inlets. Don't think it's a recent introduction. SFC which operate 2 variants of Baron 58 with different engine (300hp vs 285hp) have those air inlets all this while. N530WC... Regular SZB-Seletar... Now in Perth...wooo....so far... Is the G58 Baron pressurize? I think so with the look at an intake above engine cowling. Jandakot seems to have many many PC-12....heaven Ohh ... SZB n Seletar regular huh. PremiAir hangar which is right beside SFC seem to be a authorized maintenance base for PC-12. We see quite some regular PC-12s coming in for maintenance every few months. Unfortunately, it's not pressurized. Baron 58P is the only pressurized variant. Yup... when I retire, I think I'll choose Jandakot.. that's if I can retire.... Good choice. The varieties of GA aircraft in Jandakot never cease to amaze me.

I suspect there will be a lot of traffic in Jandakot due to ANZAC day, especially those warbirds. Noticed increase movement of vintage n warbirds in YPJT. From SpottingWA. Busselton Air Expo & Fly-in on the 19th April.
