Government promise to serve the Rakyat Through Malaysia airlines domestic service...ticket is cheap for anyone in rural areas to fly in twotters... One going, one ready to go... TK 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2005 Let see what's inside this Twin Otter. Powerful, Rugged, Sturdy..2 prop, 4 wheel Drive of the sky!!!! It does has 4 wheels ok.... " come in come in...seat la anywhere you wan...sit la..." Too bad, no stewardess to greet the passenger inside the cabin. My Advice, take front row, the 2 seater one!! Thats where you have real CLOSE UP of whats happening inside the cockpit Another reason to get front row...is THIS..... he he he he he
Rozhan 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2005 I must agree with TK that a flight on a Twin Otter is fun. I especially like the 'catapult' effect just before takeoff roll I flew on it on a sightseeing trip to Mukah, and onwards to Sibu a few months ago, before flying back to KCH on transit back home to KL. Too bad I couldn't find time to visit Mukah town, but spent some time at the beach of a very nice resort. Felt almost like in Rantau Abang in Terengganu. Some pics....from my videocam still picture function Sorry don't have the clarity of a proper digital camera 9M-MDM cruising towards MKM from KCH. Flight took about 1 hour. Sarawak has many rivers indeed. Even saw what looked like a modern airport not in MAS' destination map....later learnt that it was Tanjung Manis. I thought I was seeing things Under a hot evening sun at MKM, with strong backlight Mukah Airport 9M-MDO to take me to Sibu the next day. MKM to SBW was about a 25 minute flight Must try other destinations of the Twin Otter next time....maybe a trip to Bario to see the mountain views. By the way, from my old timetables, the fares on the Twin Otter has not changed for many, many years. It is great value to fly on the Twin Otter today, although it is losing money for MAS. But at least it allows better mobility for our fellow citizens living afar, and perhaps some economic benefit through tourism.

Norman 1 Report post Posted August 15, 2005 Great story plus pitchers on the Twotters, TK... My experience on this aircraft was Subang to Tioman on Twotters belonging to Pelangi Air... many-many moons ago Was seated on the fron row.. but the single seat one... so only saw the FO's actions... Once while holding short, he took out a Casio FX calculator punch afew figures... looked at one of the dial gauges.. and he knocked the glass face with his index figures a few times funny thing is... the needle came alived!!! MAS fan is good... on Pelangi, only the pilots had that kind of fan Pax was given individual kipas satay... real one! Anyway... this is TK story.... sorry for stealing it... Go on TK.... more please... veli intelesting --
