27th Mac 06 Red carpet in Kompleks Bunga Raya

Recommended Posts

Guys, I was at KLIA on Monday noon to catch a flight to Kuching for work.

As expected, I reached the terminal EARLY and have sometime to spot in Anjung Tinjau. :p

I saw this not so familar livery near Kompleks Bunga Raya with red carpet laid on the floor

Since LCCT started operation, the usual gates from A2 to A10 were empty. If you notice, there are some guys keeping the red carpet. Feel a little bit sad as I thought it was meant for me :p

Monday noon time is single runway ops on 14R. I wished I was somewhere in Weather Station...

Here are some of the traffic while I was there

Colorful plane I must say and first time seeing her in KLIA.

I didn't know who came to KLIA in this plane until the next day. While watching our local news on TV, I got to know Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni was in KL. ;)

She flew using the FT IATA code - Siem Reap Airways 9999.

After KL, she proceed to Singapore and eventually left the Lion Cty this morning.

Norman, I was scratching my head too. I double confirmed on the first pic on the bigger version and saw the Cambodia flag sticking out from the pilot's window.

Kwek, thanks for the info and confirmation.

Kelvin, I am back in KL and too rush to meet any MW members in East Malaysia.

I saw the aircraft belongs to Siem Raep Air? Siem Raep is in Cambodia and I think is the gateway to Angkor Wat. So the Cambodian King was indeed in the correct plane.

Nice catch man!

Sad to see empty gates at main terminal.

Thanks for the comments, guys.

Those gates are still being used from time to time. I saw some workers painting the tarmac that day.

Hi Sim Lim, thanks for your info.

Based on your info, I did a little search in www.bangkokair.com.

Indeed ==> "...In Cambodia, we fly to Phnom Penh and Angkor Wat (Siem Reap)..."

Another interesting news for spotter in KLIA about their future expansion found in this link Company Profile

Yeah! Lucky to catch her at the right time as I seldom go to the terminal or take a flight.

The thing I didn't catch is a 734 flight to Kuching piloted by Capt Radzi. :(

He was on leave that day.
