RB's New Uniforms

Recommended Posts

Recently, Royal Brunei Airlines unveiled their new heritage-inspire uniforms for cabin crew and this is in continuation of the rebranding program of Royal Brunei Airlines (RB).

The new uniforms symbolizes a unique culture of Brunei Darussalam with the world. It still maintains the traditional feel with a simple modern touch.

If you look closely at the female uniform, the blouses have been tastefully detailed with traditional songket patterns along the hem, trim and back. Colours will range from coral dust to fresh mint, to morning sky, based on the seniority of the crew. It reflects the friendly and welcoming nature of the new RB brand.

As for the male crew, they will be wearing three-piece suits in matching brown, with a similar spectrum of Malay-inspired shirts and traditional standing collars

Did you know that this particular project was developed, implemented and completed in Brunei? The design work was completed internally to ensure the new ensemble reflects Bruneian tradition. The fabrics are tailored by Brunei based Khazanah Lady House.

So when will you see the new uniforms on the RB cabin crew? Well, by early April, you will be able to witness the new uniforms when RB launch the Boeing 787 Dreamliner services to Melbourne. For those who are attending the National Day parade, you will be able to get a sneak preview of the new uniform this Sunday

Now that explains the use of that morning blue on the economy class seats ...

Not certain that I like these colours more than or as much as the ones being replaced. These are nice colours (for seat upholstery) but as uniforms, they seem very muted and will be even more so after a few washes. There isn't much difference between the morning sky blue and the mint green.

But as with every new livery or uniform, one has to see it in person to make a final judgement ... and even then, some like it, some just don't.

What perhaps will not change is the very good service on board Royal Brunei Airlines. RBA's crew members are extremely friendly.

BI can't compete with any other SEA carriers.

Buying 787s doesn't mean they are there to compete.

Look at their home base, their non-commercial product, their financial results, network....they are just not in the same league.

To me, it's national service, despite all the improvements.

The day when it flies via KUL to LON, etc then they could be an option. Otherwise, to fly via-BWN is just a turn off.

Pretty much the same with MH for me. Plus they offer alternative from Sabah and Sarawak to travel to LHR or Australia.

Putting that aside, this is an aviation forum. You will see a lot of discussions pertaining to airline operations, either bad, good or somewhere in between.

BI ??

Don't bother to waste space...there are many other airlines worth talking about.

who said it is mandatory for you to view this thread? If you do not like it, you can ignore. Easy as that!

Why should one not discuss Royal Brunei Airlines?

Sure, it is not your flag carrier from a huge country with a huge home market which is also a popular tourist destination. Even as Royal Brunei probably never made much profit with whatever it had ... it did achieve one thing many airlines that are far bigger and better endowed failed to do : Offer G-R-E-A-T service.

To prove a point, we should keep discussing about Royal Brunei ... I have flown on Royal Brunei when they were still operating B767-300ERs from Frankfurt to Bangkok (and the service was superb) and recently flew with them from KUL to BWN and back on their B787 and A320 ... the service was still exceptionally good. And BWN Airport is undergoing renovation that will further improve the travel experience.

Indeed those who deem this airline unworthy of discussion or of his attention could elect not to open the thread. At no time should the vast majority accept being told that their opinions and interest in any airline is invalid.

Very closed mind... not everything revolves around KUL. There are travellers in East Malaysia too - so RBI is a viable altternative, now that MH is such a shitty carrier.

If you do not think the RBI is worthy of discussion, just stay out. No one is forcing you to view this thread!

BI is an extension of the country's Royal family travelling convenience as been mentioned many times over by forumers here. So, whether they have new aircraft or new uniform, it will not turn the airline into a profitable company, not that it needed too anyways.
