:angry: SPOTTING AT WMKP

================

DATE: JANUARY 31, 2006

TIME: 1200L - 1430L

EQUIPMENT

=========

CAMERA: Nikon F70 (Analog SLR) with Tamron AF 70-300mm f4-5.6 LD Macro

MODE: Aperture Priority

FILM: Kodak Elite Chrome (Slides) ISO 400

OTHER EQUIPMENT: Forgot to bring along a ladder and brolly :angry: so I popped in and out of the car :huh: to take shots with only a KLIA ATC cap on my head :)

REPORT:

=======

It was a hot day indeed with no cloud as I parked my car at the eastern perimeter fence nearer to the Rwy 22 end of Rwy 04. Traffic was very light and these were the shots that I managed to make:

SMALLER BIRD

============

Then a bird of the feathered kind (an egret, I think) turned up and made a full-flap landing :rolleyes:

Later MMR took off

and then MQD.

JATAYU

======

A Jatayu (B737-200?) came taxying past and lined up on Rwy 22 although the windsock was still indicating a tailwind of about 10 - 15 knots :huh:

FEDEX MD-11

===========

A Fedex MD-11 came later and also lined up on Rwy 22.

9M-LPC

======

It was apparent that Rwy 22 was now the active, so I moved my vantage point further upwind and after a while, to my surprise :) my usual steed 9M-LPC taxied up for an Intersection Charlie takeoff.

CAL B737-400

============

China Airline's B737-400 taxied up next, turned round and took off.

Just before I packed up, an MH B737-400 came taxying by and took off.

Well, that's all folks. No landing pics this time due to my location and thanks for viewing :)

Nice ones Attan...(another Nikonian ;) )

Only thing is the film-scanner doesn't do justice to your slides

I'm sure the images from the slides are much better.

I'm also looking at the Tamron 70-300 also.

Now that one MW spotter using that, maybe we could

do a session and exchange lenses :p

And, yes... CAL flies B738s...

Nice pics from sunny and hot Penang. I like the film grain :) It is disappointing that PEN has lost its viewing gallery to airline offices.

Wise One aka Attan The Great,

Lama tak dengar. Did not know that you are into spotting. I thought you are just into GA flying and building home cockpit. Now you are not only the Wise One, but the Complete One. Thanks for the lovely pics from Penang. Next time I go there click click me OK?

Cheers,

LeeCH

Here are the pictures... Glad that I can still see the planes and smell the air I could have seen and inhale if I had followed Attan the other day...

Sorry Attan I could not make it that day...

It is not only disappointing but I am SO SO SO disappointed! It's such a great place to view planes taking off and land, and even the apron activities!
