Ricky Tiong 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 Awesome photos you got there Pieter. Thanks for sharing. I reckon the NWA new livery looks great on a A330. Still sad to heard the DC-10s will soon be retired. Looking forward to more close up photos.
Imran K. 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 Hmmm.... The literal translation of that would be "Airline of the Kingdom of Morocco"... However...the Moroccan's usually have their own accents and dialects (due to their european influences)..thus its meaning could be open to interpretation. Then again...i wouldnt be surprised if it was called "Royal Air Maroc"...same thing..
Norman 1 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 Pieter... those are fantastic shots.. Very close... you need fisheye lenses at that location..
kandiah k 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 Awesome shots Piter !!! Sorry I havent posted the pics I took last Dec.....not digital picslaa!!!!
Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 Hafiez, Imran, You're both correct !!! On the other side it's in English and is "Royal Air Maroc" Sandeep, No "city of Kuala Lumpur" in the KLM 747-fleet: K already used for Karachi . No more -400's planned for delivery, except for Freighters, and they're named after VOC-ships, so I guess, no KL to be seen gracing the Queen Norman, The Transavia and Vueling were taken with around 50mm, and the noses with around 200mm: yes, you can get this close to the planes at Schiphol airport
Imran K. 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 Thank God "City of Dubai" is in service....

Azman MN 1 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 Baaahh... very nice! want to swap Swiss landscape for AMS spotting? You've got good variety there! More?
Min Chun 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 lovely pics..more more pls!
Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 More to be posted tonight, Azman and Min Chun...have some more nice ones in store BTW, N237NW was on her way to Memphis as NW0057; "look no hand" was KL1961 to Zurich; "Epidaurus" was KL0641 to New-York/JFK and not to Far-East ... Regarding the naming: BFO is "Orlando" which is NOT operated by KLM anymore (now Martinair), same applies for "Karachi": at that time, KLM was still operating there, and, like I said before, once a name has been given, it will NOT be changed anymore on the aircraft...guess BFO would be better of with "Osaka", like BFK becoming "Kuala Lumpur"

Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted December 28, 2005 Pieter, Nice collections. Welcome to the Dark Side. I told you Nikon D50 is a good camera!!! My fav...NW Diesel 10. I wish you have the whole body shots...or maybe you do have it. Show me one. 21982[/snapback] TK, These shots were still taken by the Finepix: the lens of the Delta50 doesn't fit through the crash-gate, so needed to use the "small" camera instead...anyhow, here are some more shots I took that cold and blistery afternoon: Very busy traffic all taxying to 36L: how many do you count in this picture ? What colourscheme do you prefer: the old or new one ? Same for the three-holers: which livery is better ? Here is PH-OFC, operating KL1549 to Leeds-Bradford: love the reflection(s) The other Dutch airline operating PH-MCI to Orlando and San Jose as MP0635 TK, not really a full frame, but still hope you'll like this one Than, I was able to "sneak" into the maintenance area and was able to photograph the following: PH-AOC, the newest A330 of KLM and, the following idle Fokker F50's of KLM cityhopper in front of the Hangar Hope, you've enjoyed this series of pictures...final episode to follow (in case you won't get bored by now )
Norman 1 Report post Posted December 28, 2005 Good shots Pieter I like the Old & New comparisons... But for KLM... old scheme better..
Imran K. 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2005 I think the New colour scheme looks sexy on the MD-11...
Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted December 28, 2005 Personally, think it definitely looks better on the KLM cityhopper fleet: that silver line was just aweful and looked very much like Korean Wonder how the OLD colours would have looked on the new 330 (not as good as this one, I guess)... Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted December 28, 2005 OK, guys, here's the final part of my photographic Schiphol-trip: Swefly went bankrupt and parked their Fokker 50's at SPL; look at the faded www.address at the rear fuselage above the service-door: This is #2, unfortunately all-white: Transavia is currently installing winglets on all their 737's, including -700's: Which passenger-door is wider/larger ?: Why are KLM crews so friendly ? : 737-800 and 737-900 are used for European and Middle-East flights: Head-on : Look for the differences: Follow-me, uh uh, follow-me !!! : Maersk became Sterling (operating AMS-BLL): PH-KCF pulled out of the hangar for an APU test-run (see the smoke ) : Original airline/owner becoming visible (again): Special request of TK: Diesel10 full-frame (taken in August05 at AMS): Your humble photographer in front of ol' faithful Zulu Bravo : Hope, you enjoyed this series of nose-shots (Azahan, thanks for bringing up the idea in the first place)...
