  1. He's trying to get as much airtime as possible though i think in his constituents hardly 50% of people posses a TV set. Stop putting fools in the office when the time comes next year please.
  2. The guy may be rated on both, but i suspect his 747 rating may have lapsed. But the news seems to glorify the off-duty pilot, the decisions and landing sure been made by captain, while he only read the checklist.
  3. Normally cargo is wet lease. Good for them if it materialize as profit margin for ACMI lease is actually bigger. But how sustainable the lease, we'll see soon enough.
  4. we shouldn't allow it to happen here. Preserve some dignity.
  5. Air Asia ditched the scheme few years ago. For CPL holders, the type rating will be borne by the company in exchange of 6 years bond. For cadets, AirAsia will arrange loan with them. Mostly MPL. And bonded too.
  6. A real proof of no proofreading exist at Utusan. Yet people (majority) still buying it.
  7. expats? These European are not even being paid fairly. Lion made good money on European co-pilots and soon Malaysians who desire to join Lion will join the ranks as paymaster to Lion. The cost of training co-pilots is already zero being done this way. No wonder their tickets are cheap. First 120 hours is being paid by poor co-pilots.
  8. MH did offer VSS few times, but they keep bringing in the wrong people after the right ones left. Too many hands treating it as gravy train to make some quick bucks. Staff swallowed bitter pills, crooks get away.
  9. yeap, arrived last nite, parked at F7 at they were still there.
  10. Saw one Learjet (not sure), VH registration parked next to usual Transmile spot tonite. On the other end is another unrecognizable type. Looks like Challenger but a tad lower. November registration (if i got it right)
  11. Timothy, Sabah Flying Club is now based in Kuala Penyu airfield for their training right. Always look out for them in fine weather while descending into WBKK. There were days when i spotted 2 aircraft. Most of the time i spotted only one. Why dont you come to SZB. There's aplenty of flying clubs here. Take your pic. ESB, RSFC, Elite, Subang FC etc. Or if you want to complete it within your stipulated time maybe you can consider APFT based in Kota Bharu.
  12. No ILS until now. No progress seen on the RWY 20 threshold. What took them so long?
  13. Very true Art. Of all 600 freshies hopefuls who turned up for the past 2 days, we must understand not all have the required standard to be on the right seat. People failing simulators happen all the time. If they are not careful with the selection, the Chief pilot for training gonna have headache and heart attack after few months on the job. Not looking down on others but i was having a hard time too passing the simulator stage. Not only you needed skill but also the right attitude to survive and strive up to the challenge. If they overlook the right traits during their simplified walk-in interview then God helps. I'll try to take some pictures tomorrow.
  14. The scene at MTB Level 4 yesterday was chaos. I was there, trying my luck. First impression, no system at all. Recruitment was planned hastily, there's no point in giving out test if people are free to discuss. My friend was the last to be called in for interview, having to wait from 11am to 6pm. Few points to ponder : 1) Why not hire like other airlines, submit CV, then be called for interview and sit for tests, maybe sim check? 2) Why not separate recruitment days for flight crew, engineering and general positions on separate days? The place was too small, too many people clueless where to go. 3) Why not set up proper structure first, Chief Pilot, Engineering Manager etc before going on recruitment spree? 4) No proper line set up, i even saw some forms filled by hopefuls being left in the open. What if someone came and deliberately throw the forms? 5) Read in the star, Malindo will arrange with banks for pilots to pay for ratings. This trait of making pilots pay for rating will discourage experienced guy from joining in. Just look at how Lion Air choose their co-pilots. Why dont they learn something and invest in human capital (provide training with bonds, and choose carefully). Rusdi Kirana was there yesterday. I'm going to try my luck again tomorrow.
  15. DCA to suspend AirAsia for AOC lapse? Dream on, Tony Fernandes hold many politicians by their balls, who dares to touch him? Transport Minister? Useless prick.
  16. Just when you think the case of jet engines theft from heavily armed RMAF base, the only heads to roll were of a sergeant and a major. In KKIA case, perhaps tukang cuci lantai or tukang potong rumput.
  17. went to level 4 MTB. No Malindo office sighted. Only Lion office is there. There are a couple of lots undergoing renovation, could be one of it.
  18. the requirements of 5 hours is actually enforced by aircraft operators/clubs for insurance inclusion.
  19. words out that the company applying for all the ASP and AOC is SunBumi. They are hiring people right now.
  20. People jump into the industry, without being forced, investing hundreds of thousands ringgit (or a loan), and think the industry owe them a job. What a ridiculous thought. I might be very lucky but in anything we do, ATTITUDE stands out. With the right attitude jobs will come and dreams will be realised. With the right ATTITUDE you dont wait for others to tell you what to do, you initiate the first steps. With the right ATTITUDE you will get to know the right people and with the right ATTITUDE, you chart your own destiny, not leaving them to politicians, airline bosses, flying school towkays etc.
  21. damn bloody contractor took too long a time to complete all the upgrading works! Even some shoddy jobs with surface depression in Terminal 2 apron. Took them like forever to complete extension on runway 20, one of the reason why ILS have yet to be comissioned. And now, the lighting problems. Double whammy for MAHB.
  22. it's quite a waste not to use any technology or products that promote efficiency just because it's created by an Israeli company. First, i never agreed with useless and pointless boycott on products that have ties with Israel (so they say) like Starbucks, Mc Donalds, etc because it will die down when they hype worn off. Nor i agree their hostility towards Palestinian in the Banks. Second, we all know Israel created many more technological breakthrough service like battery swapping eco car, data encryption and so on that largely benefit us, including the Muslims without we knowing it. We only chose to boycott on the surface but deep down we still need whatever the Jews created. Facebook, Microsoft, aircraft parts made in Israel, defense products, and APCO. Instead of learning on such small country with literally zero friendly neighbours flourish, we chose to hate blindly and seasonally. Why not hate and boycott the Arabs when clearly they are the nearest one but they do nothing, instead, they become US and A biggest ally in the MENA region (speaking of Saudi Arabia, with their gleaming fighter jets, Abram tanks and many more).. Back to Taxi Bot, i see this as a breakthrough. Maybe, in 5 years it can make its debut in KUL (operated by KLAS who else). Taxi fuel in 737-300/400 can consume as much as 250 kg of precious fuel.
