  1. It was once a week but they changed their non stop flights and were operating via BKK... Not sure if they still fly to KUL now
  2. Watery livery and having a plane ditchin in the Indian Ocean probably won't go down too welly
  3. RN 0001 KUL-ALA-MXP-LHR-JFK-LAX-HND-HKG-BKK-KUL F2 (for roast mama and ah jib kor) C20 Y500 A380
  4. I thought the ospreys had some issues and a few have crashed?
  5. Great news for KUL... It looks like BA is really giving it a good effort. Hope that other airlines also have similar success. Pity about AF
  6. I am glad that the new CEO is someone from the airline industry (doesn't matter whether they are local or foreign).. He will have a good understanding of what it takes to ensure the hard product is of an appropriate standard. None of this 'five star value carrier' bullcrap. I was very disappointed when I saw photos of MH's much touted A380 first and business class. It was 5 years behind the competition (look at etihad, SQ and emirates)
  7. Looks like 777 refurbishment is in full swing! I really hope that their product will be 'industry leading' as promised
  8. Thank god.. Malu lah kalau Paris pun cannot work. Already malu about frankfurt and Zurich... Sungguh besar kemaluan MAS
  9. It's actually 4x daily for CX ...
  10. This is why they decided not to upgrade to 744... Very interesting
  11. Shame that no one is that interested to look around Malaysia.. With all the headlines coming out from Malaysia, even I would be a bit wary... Makes us all look like fools.
  12. I thought KLM and AF have a scissor hub in SIN where passengers can transfer to CGK or DPS on their own metal
  13. I remember reading about how AF was the biggest stumbling block to MH joining SkyTeam. KL and KE were keen for MH to join... AF only flew to KUL once weekly when they took over the UTA route in the 90s. That didn't even last more than 2 years IIRC.
  14. I agree, AF didn't really give much of a hope to the route. 5-7 weekly would be the minimum to attract business... LH is doing much better now that they have upped their frequency and gone non stop. KL is one airline we have the most affinity with... They have been operating to Malaysia almost uninterrupted since the 20s.. Probably even longer than Imperial airways, BOAC and BA. I'm glad lufthansa and BA are still around too. They are actually giving it a good go. look at azizul's posts in the BA thread - they have really pushed the boat out there for KUL
  15. Even their 772 is hell in a tin tube.. Very uncomfortable economy class seats although crew were really nice (can't beat a sexy French accent) and the food ok...
  16. They could have linked KUL with CGK but probably didn't want to overlap with KL. I find it hard to believe CGK gets a premium 77W but it is via SIN so I suspect the front end is very useful for the latter destination. It also probably helps that there is no GA to CDG ... I don't think our handling of MH370 and the negative press after MH17 was shot down did any good to our country's image... Along with all the other juicy bits of news trickling out including Jibby's lost billions, gymnast's vaginas and naked mountain people... MH putting a daily A380 probably trashed the yield on the route. Demand must have been much lower - filling up a daily A380 and 3-4 weekly 772 would have been a nightmare. If MH does quit CDG, then AF pulling out would have been a premature decision... Better for them to play the long game and wait. However, their financial situation is dire and KUL is not a very important market for them. Business traffic would have been much better if they had bothered to fly daily ... Let's hope BA, KL and LH have a better time. I'm not very happy that AF has pulled out, but business is business I guess..
  17. Reading on airliners.net, AF has confirmed that KUL will be cut come winter 2015. Apparently it was a loss maker ... Not sure that AF really gave it much of a chance with 3-4 weekly service.
  18. Thanks azizul, Suzanne and Craig! Interesting reading.. Made my day! KUL has always been underestimated... Not anymore I guess. Air china and ANA next on the list to return this year!
  19. 9. Blame it on the pilot! Or co-pilot... Or both!!
  20. Great job by the crew to get the plane down safely
  21. I guess you are right suhaimi.. The garmen probably knows that it is not AJ's fault that MAS fell apart but their greed
  22. Suhaimi, I hadn't realised it hence my surprise. I don't want to me an armchair CEO and I know AJ is a good person but why does MAS have to keep someone who has failed to help them as a company? I work in the public healthcare industry and surgeons get suspended for a multitude of things including poor results, complaints from patients etc etc. MAS has failed and is 'technically bankrupt'... May not be completely AJ's fault but he was helming the company at the time. Maybe he should venture into other things? Clearly he is not in touch with the aviation world ...I'm sure there are other GLCs he can be assigned to
  23. Apparently MAB has appointed AJ as a member of the Board of Directors... Is that true?? That is just taking the piss..
