  2. Imran, good stuff there. Next time we go there together OK? Lying down and get a good shot?? That is what I do all the time.....the way a real photographer has to do it sometimes to get a good composition. Hey upgrade DSLR please.....ur standard is about there. Start dealing with your dad will ya??
  3. Mr Tortoise is back from Brisbane. And in the mood for some editing. Hope you guys like it. Comments appreciated. Captain: "Positive Climb, Gear up" First Officer: "Gears or gear?" Captain: "Just pull the damn lever up will you??!!" First Officer: "Captain kapten, how come our lumber wan n jin cower blu arh? And the chap chap thing hor....at the end of the wings how....use for poking is it ah?" Now everyone can walk in the sky (Yati, Azahan, Lily, Pieter, Erna, Norman, Auntie, Syakir, Meor, Ah Pek, Ah Beng, Ali....) .....and they are walking happily with a boy in the bicycle of course (that is Emperor when....he was younger) Happy viewing
  4. TK, your shots power lah.....me also into getting a 12-24 DX soon but this month shopping list got a car lah.....me scratching head.....aish....lens or car, lens or car.....great shots again. Me no Zurich until we get pencil ER in Nov. By then its winter.....
  5. Imran, Can I camp in your backyard on my next DXB trip? Keep it comin man. That is one mouth watering shot. Mana SQ?? Hehehe
  6. Great stuff Pieter. Some out of normal commercial aviaition that we so use to seeing. Two thumbs up to you!!
  7. TK, Both photos were taken with Auto and captured with RAW. Used Adobe RAW plug in to correct WB. B734 on cloudy while A330 on Direct Sunlight. Reflecting actual conditions on capture that day.
  8. Almost one and a half weeks late.....but excuse me a bit lah guys OK?? Busy flying mah. And also learning Photoshop. All by myself with no sifu teaching here. Here is my work on two of the shots I have. Comments on framing, sharpness, color, contrast and etc etc etc.....all welcomed....thank you. MH's MH Do not want to share SQ pic here la. Boring leh everyday see same thing......like I have always said......everyday eat laksa....sometimes must eat nasi lemak also......kekeke
  9. I will take A380. Plenty of space and room. Can make it into a harem..... so I can play hide and seek with the cabin crew on board........And have Karaoke room, Bar Lounge, Study room, Bed Room......anything lah.....and I got 4 engines to go anywhere in the world. Non-stop. How about that?
  10. Hmm.......Brokeback Mountain......last heard it was a very very extremely popular movie with the male cabin crew in SQ......you know what I mean....
  11. Norman, thanks for the advice. But isn't teleconverters taking away only aperture stops instead of speed stops?? VR should not be affected am I rite? Capt. Radzi, thanks for the solution. Let me give you a breakdown of the cost then. AF-S 70-200mm f2.8 VR = SGD$3,000 AF-S 200-400mm f4 VR = SGD$9,800 Ideal, but it will costs me SGD$ 11,800. If all SQ's profit of SGD1.2 bil goes into my bank account, then nice...so meanwhile it will have to be either a 70-200mm f2.8 or a 80-400mm. And the shopping list goes on.......sigh.....
  12. Norman, Poison kah? Next month I come back poison you some more OK? I am also very poisoned by the FISH even now that I have it. Every other shot is a FISH. Best thing about Nikon FISH is that it can be straighten with Nikon Capture Software if shoot in RAW and becomes a 10.5mm straight wide angle. Best!! Where is my shots ah? Oh, they are in my laptop now. All in RAW not converted or edited yet. Slowly lah OK? TK, sorry not able to meet up. Got 'Urgent' matters have to leave early. I miss your 80-400 VR, especially at the plantation area. 200mm is just not enough. One question, 70-200 f2.8 with Teleconverter 2.0 better or 80-400 VR is better? Lets talk about quality wise and not from budget sense. Han and Jon, great imagination there with the two MH squeezing the AK bus. Now I know who are the squezer and who is the squezee.....hehe Yuh Loh, nice meeting you too. Where did you went lah after tah pow? Never come back....
  13. Good news for me!! Colin, come join Triple. Wah....can go visit Barcelona FC and go sight seeing with SQ Char Boh......ahem....
  14. Norman, thanks for the SQ shots. In all, great series of pics here. Always looking forward o come back to KL more often these days. Cheers, with XO of course.
  15. Greetings from LAX genteleman of the Labour Days. Makes me look in pain to see so many guys having fun while I am in Taipei looking out for Mei Mei and of course doing some work while crossing the Pacific Ocean enroute to LAX. Gret Job. And how come no SQ ah?
  16. Norman, Nice sequence of landing shots of the Qatari Syeikh....Hope you do not mind to let me share something with the rest here...... I am sure the pilot not flying must be wondering when is the pilot flying is going to put the nose down. The dangers of holding your nose so long and high up after the main wheels have touched and spoiler cum reversers activated can be rather disasterous. Reversers and spoliers destroys lift on wings. And by holding the nose up for so long, and with lift energy gradually reducing depending on the rate of deceleration, once lift energy dissapates, the nose will stall and the nose wheel will hit the ground very very hard. Chances of damage of sturtural crack will be high indeed. In my training and conversion days, we are always reminded during the flaring part to 'fly the nose wheel to the ground'. Meaning that once main wheels touched, reversers deployed (which activates spoilers automatically), gradually let the nose wheel come down in a controlled manner. Never let go instantaneously but also never hold on to it forever. A jetliner is not Cessna. The more and more holding off the nose may also eventually lead to a tail strike. Can you see how close the tail is to ground?? Put that on a Triple and Norman will capture a tail strike for all to see. Its a great showoff and thankfully Norman was there to capture it for us.......hehe. More please Norman....more....
  17. Bad news for pilots and passengers!! As if departing out of KLIA is not bad enough with two runways in use, now have to wait even longer for slot time, both departing and arriving.....arhhh............lucky me no KUL sector lately. But wait. I got KUL 4 sector in June....mid June....."LUMPUR TOWER SELAMAT PETANG SINGAPORE ONE ONE TWO EIGHT MILE FINAL ONE FOUR RIGHT..." Also PEN based people, "PENANG TOWER SINGAPORE ONE NINER TWO SELAMAT PAGI!!" Yay!! Truly Malaysian!!
  18. Tell me about it. I got 83 this month. Mostly all turn arounds, which explains why I havent been posting or writing stories. Like an office worker reporting to work every other day. Dun worry lah bro, SGD$$ damn good oh with your roster like that, income tax also hefty ho.....hehe
  19. Exactly, radio signals are the signals for ILS. THat's why the Autopilot trip on my flight.
  20. Azahan, you got Amanda phone number and email address? Want to trade with Deep Valley of Singapore? Hehee... JK, next time go to TF cubicle ta pow all the models for me OK??
  21. Luckily for myself and for my fellow colleagues here, it is very comforting to know that we go to work with very good condition planes and well maintained. FYI, the company has a policy not keeping any aircarft beyond 12 years of service. It really reassures myself that I will be safe, at least on a very high percentage term. Spoke to some expatriate Four Gold Bar Uncle's over here and they mentioned that we got almost barely minimum Deferred Defect Entries on the technical logbook and the A345, B744 and B777 fleet are so well mantained. Compared to foregin airlines where they previously worked. Even some MH ground engineers turned SQ pilots agree. So if you ever wonder why sometimes SQ charges a higher price for tickets, its the new equipment that we use. And also SQ Girl. Its comparatively safer unless LeeCH decides to be unsafe that day......haha LeeCH
  22. When I was doing a KUL run coming in on SQ 112 where Azahan our hero was there to catch my departure, something happen on ILS 32L. We captured the LOC at about 20 miles out. Suddenly Autopilot reverts to basic Heading and Altitude modes. We went manual flying and reengage the AP. Went well for 5 seconds same thing. But this time AP disconnect by itself. We queried tower of ILS integrity and reports of problems from other aircraft. NONE was the reply. By now we too busy configuring and coming in for a greeaaseeerrrrr.....so Uncle Four Gold Bar hand fly all the way and I chit chat with lady controller. On ground we ask engineer to check system but found no errors. Going back to SIN (my sector flying) everything was OK in Changi ILS. Of course greaserrrr also lah... So we suspected somed10t passenger using or inadvertantly left mobile device on. And could be receiving call or SMS at that time in KUL. So guys, for your own safety sake, please please, turn the damn thing off. Its not funny if we have to do an Autoland in bad weather conditions and Mr. AP decided to trip last minute. Speak up if you see the guy or Ah Moi sitting nearby using any phone OK? Phone only yah.......cameras OK!! LeeCH
  23. Pieter, You just did a Azahan like my SQ113 in Feb. Unfortunately somehow or somewhat, I am still waiting for my first virgin flight to Europe. Still not coming in May and June. I am so pissed off actually. I am going everywhere in Southeast Asia and Indian continent plus tow Ozz run. Lets wait till AMS shows up in my roster. I bring you AK girls and you shot me like this OK? Deal?? Azahan, how much you charge for AK Sabahan type? Colin, You flew with Captain Foo S.M. is it? You tell him he owe me makan as I service his PC for him. Hehe....Ta Pow Liari Briyani please.....hehe Regads, LeeCH
