  1. Not sure what kind of access to the station is for a daily commute. I don't believe that it is very convenient to get to the station.
  2. I think that the next 5 years will be an interesting period watching the development of Malaysian carriers - lets see where D7 can spread its wings as a network LCC with its A321 XLRs and A330-900s. As for MH, much will depend on how fast it can get its new aircraft and how long they will hold on to old ones. 20 new A330-900s is not sufficient for growth and they are still taking their own sweet time placing more orders. Maybe the outgoing CEO has decided that new orders should be made by the new CEO.
  3. I think MVB and MVC are from 2023 delivery schedule that were delayed till 2024. I guess MH's 2024 scheduled deliveries are still in the pipeline, at the mercy of how Boeing copes with its quality assurance.
  4. They seem to like using KUL for their A32x delivery flight transits, though!
  5. I think MAG is not taking FY seriously - just look at how they managed the ATR fleet. No innovations in routes or frequencies, no replacement for the tired old aircraft, etc. FY looks like a tired old airline short on ideas. It also looks like FY managers don't talk to MH managers to coordinate routes and flight schedules. Instead of allowing FY to develop its own identity, it is treated like an ugly stepsister to MH. Sad to say, unless MAG top management reaffirms FY's role in the MAG group of companies, it will always be an afterthought.
  6. Yes, somehow they were not sure what the A332 can do for them - they had one aircraft that was never used for their scheduled services, 9M-XAD. This was usually out on wet lease or charters.
  7. 9M-VAC arrived yesterday. https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/9m-vac#364bddfc
  8. When Boeing balked at new jet, Airbus moved. Now the A321 will ‘make an awful lot of money’ https://www.seattletimes.com/business/boeing-aerospace/when-boeing-balked-on-new-jet-airbus-moved-now-the-a321-will-make-an-awful-lot-of-money/
  9. Fortunately there are other airlines at SZB. Lets see what the competition will do.
  10. IIRC, Airbus was bending over backwards to get the D7 order and had to bend over backwards to reassure them that it will do the KUL-LGW/STN flights with full load. I am not sure if the production aircraft can still meet this target - and D7 has scaled back its 100 plane order to around 30. The Airbus website gives a range of 13,334 km. https://aircraft.airbus.com/en/aircraft/a330-advanced-to-boost-profitability/a330-900
  11. I think when KLIA opened, the government of the day was focussed on it being the aviation hub of the country. That was why so much land was earmarked for it - so that the aviation support industries can be established. We can now see that this has not quite happened the way it was originally intended. Even MAG is not that big in the industry - they don't have a massive MRO operation nor do they have flight kitchens as yet. The cargo side of things is still small. With Subang, I suspect that it was needed for the RMAF airbase. In recent years, greedy developers have been wanting to make use of the idle land occupied by the former airport. The govt. of today is aware of that commercial pressure but also realise that it is strategic to keep Subang open as an airport. As such, the plan for Subang is to move from being an airport at tickover to justify its existence to an airport with greater commercial value. So it is now a secondary airport that will serve commercially viable destinations with a bigger volume of passengers. As we have all noted, the transport infrastructure of the airport seems to be the bottleneck to the plan. Lets see if this can be solved and the revised plan can be made to work!
  12. I think that airlines should make PSAs on this matter so that pax are alerted to the possibility of theft. That is why it is important to have your overhead luggage stored where you can see them and airlines should also be more strict in enforcing their carry on luggage limits.
  13. Airbus A321XLR receives EASA type certification https://aircraft.airbus.com/en/newsroom/press-releases/2024-07-airbus-a321xlr-receives-easa-type-certification
  14. I don't think KTM has any spare rolling stock - that was why previous rolling stock was redeployed elsewhere. The best we can hope for is for their return to this route. KTM should also order new rolling stock configured with sufficient luggage racks as pax on airport trains usually have some accompanying luggage.
  15. Frankly MAG should steer well clear of those PW GTF engines - lots of operators still have planes grounded due to insufficient resources to get them repaired. I think that for now, the B738 total operating costs will still be manageable whereas managing downtime with the PW engines will be rather more difficult!
  16. I think TF is right when calling for the tech companies to be accountable. I think tech companies are the only companies selling permanently defective products! That is why their software constantly needs updates and patches! Crowdstrike and Microsoft should be coming up with some compensation for all their customers. Furthermore, top executives of these companies should also clawback their huge bonuses!
  17. 9M-FYC is almost 16 years old - I presume this will be one of the first aircraft to be withdrawn from service. I guess that its flight hours will also be a factor as it dictates what the next maintenance will cost. Commuter planes won't last very long due to the short sectors they fly - so wear and tear will be greater. Does MAG own these planes? If FY were to replace the ATR-72 with B738, capacity is more than doubled - so I guess the frequencies will be reduced on the routes it operates.
  18. Consumer protection laws are strongest in the EU. In Asia, consumer protection is virtually non-existent - businesses can do more or less what they want and consumer rights is not high on their agenda.
  19. 9M-VAC should follow soon - customer acceptance flight was conducted 17th July. https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/d-avyc
  20. 9M-VAD arrived this morning. https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/9m-vad#3631fe40
  21. They should consider a spur line to Subang Airport from Glenmarie - Changi MRT style. I think maybe they should just link up with the KTM line to avoid making the KTM station a white elephant. KTM is clearly not an operator for mass rapid transit services.
  22. We should see the delivery flight soon - customer acceptance flight conducted for 9M-VAD on 11 July. https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/d-avxw#3616f6e4
  23. Indonesia's TransNusa to fly out of Subang Airport in Aug, Scoot remains mum https://www.nst.com.my/business/corporate/2024/07/1075547/indonesias-transnusa-fly-out-subang-airport-aug-scoot-remains-mum
  24. I believe airlines operating flights into LCY have little choice due to the very short runway there. Even the A319 needed special certification for steep approach to the airport. SZB has a 12,000 ft runway. So they can even operate widebodies there. The only bottleneck is the terminal.
