  1. The -900neo has a range of roughly 12300km (give or take various reports). KUL-LHR is roughly 10,600km...again, give or take. Making the assumption 100px = 60kg (asian market) +20kg (luggage)...add 8,000kg weight penalty. Assume this translates into a fuel penalty to keep the 245t mtow and lets say fuel burn is 6kg/km (internet info, unconfirmed) = 1,333km short. That would give it a range of 11,000km..roughly... Enough for a diversion Now, if for security reasons the route is via Greece/Italy then they will have a problem. Weather and headwind will give them a headache. PS: it is a very rough calc, highly inaccurate...I am not in the airline industry so please do correct me.
  2. Based on this "We’ve found out that the best economic performance you can get out of it is on seven or eight hour- long flight sectors " .....yes Australia maybe a better route for the A380 once the A350 arrives. Hopefully our load factors improve to justify its use.

  10. https://www.ch-aviation.com/portal/airports/3005 Bangladesh inspected 9M-MPP with the possibility of leasing it... My apologies, the link is wrong. Copied the text from "ch-aviation". Here it is... Biman Bangladesh Airlines (BG, Dhaka) has approached Malaysia Airlines (MH, Kuala Lumpur Int'l) over the proposed use of its B747-400 for the upcoming Hajj season which starts in late August. Biman Chairman, Air Marshal Enamul Bari (retd), told the Dhaka Tribune that his airline recently carried out an inspection of 9M-MPP (msn 29900) with a view to using it for Hajj charters. Though mothballed in the past, the aircraft was recently reactivated to cover Kuala Lumpur Int'l-London Heathrow flights when the Malaysian carrier's six A380-800s began undergoing heavy maintenance earlier this quarter.
  11. AirAsia offers 43% of the total seat capacity between OOL-AKL as of Apr'16 according to CAPA. If MH is flying with weight restrictions, how would they do it? Fly with some empty seats? If so, anyone knows how many?
  12. In addition....there's also the headwind issue on the return leg from AKL.
  13. Agreed. Plus we need to observe the progress over a longer period.
  14. Has MAB cancelled some LHR flights this week or next due to poor load factor?
