  1. Nice T4 lounge ,the way to go for MH. Thanks for sharing Azizul.
  2. As per your u suggestion for D7 to fly to ad hoc cities temporariy before theit application is approved (Appplication lodged in one year ago for Sydney), I presume that you did not understands Azizuls reply on the economics involved. Please read his reply again.A lot of money and protocols and time ias to be invested and its just not woth it for temporaroy bussiness. I can see that Singapore goverment adn jetstar is going to come from behind and overtake D7 as the malaysian goverment doesnt really seem to see KLIA as hub or at least doesnt seem to go about it aggresively. Now how is MH going to stop Jetstar with their application as they are bound to fly from Sydney before D7 gets a chance? Gosh one and only chance to toppple singapore is also going down the drain.
  3. Very Sad? I am very happy that at least one airline in that region is renewing its fleet and when I need to Travel back I can travel back in style. You should be sad for MAS. Go ahead be sad.And BTW Qatar is getting their 787 nest year and MH their 330 late 2011till 2016.
  4. Who is the party you are refering to with 6 types of aircraft? is it SQ?
  5. Question is ,if the boxes are recovered should they be sent to an independent board or should they be sent back to france, where the airline involved is from and also the aircraft manufacturer is from. So essentially if they wanna hide anything and just blame it on pitots even after analysis no one will know. POint in case is the Air france A320 crash conspiracy. If they are sent to an independent body, like in US then we may very well know the truth, as lives has been lost and thruth is important here.
  6. KUALA LUMPUR: Travel agents will be charging at least RM20 more for a return air ticket to any international destination under a new booking fee ruling that involves Malaysian Airlines. Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) vice-president (ticketing), K. Thangavelu, said MAS had informed them that the new ruling would take effect from May 15. Travel agents who issue tickets without using the Abacus-operated global distribution system (GDS), which provides global communications and electronic distribution of information for travel service providers, would have to pay the additional booking fee. “Currently, there are three main GDS providers in the market — Abacus, Amadeus and Galileo,” he told a press conference here yesterday. He said that the new ruling only applied to Malaysian travel agents, but such a notice was not issued to their counterparts in other parts of the world including in Australia, Hong Kong, Thailand and Singapore. Thangavelu said its members had strongly objected to the new ruling and wanted it to be withdrawn. “We will be meeting senior management officials in MAS on Monday and hope the issue can be resolved,” he said, adding that currently, 65% of Matta members booked tickets through non-Abacus GDS. MAS senior general manager, sales and marketing, Datuk Bernard Francis, said that it had 623 appointed travel agents. Of these, 78% were already on Abacus. IN REPLY: Matta Threatens To Boycott MAS Over Differential Fees KUALA LUMPUR, May 7 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agencies (Matta) Friday urged Malaysia Airlines (MAS) to withdraw the plan to impose differential fees for bookings done on non-Abacus global distribution system (GDS), or face boycott from its members. Matta Vice-President for Ticketing K. Thangavelu said the new regulation, due for implementation on May 15, was unfair to travel agents. Under the new ruling, MAS tickets issued through non-Abacus GDS by travel agents will be charged US$3 per sector. "The new regulation is against antitrust practices by helping to try set up a monopoly environment by a certain GDS and also against the Consumer Protection Act and it is inconsistent with IATA (International Air Transport Association) practices and international industry norms," he told a press conference here. He said Matta would not hesitate to pursue legal action against MAS on the issue and probably on other issues such as commission on airfares and collection of fuel charges as well. "Matta and its members will not hesitate to boycott selling MAS tickets if our noble intention to resolve the issues fails," he said. The matter would be brought up during a meeting with MAS on Monday, he added. Malaysia has 644 IATA accredited agents and 65 per cent of them use non-Abacus GDS. Thangavelu said the new ruling would further induce ticketing agents to sell tickets of other airlines and not MAS whose tickets would be more expensive. "The US$3 is only for one sector. If there is a transit, the passenger has to fork out another US$3," he said. He also questioned why the new regulation was to be implemented only in Malaysia and not worldwide, which was unfair for all travel agents in Malaysia. "MAS, as the national carrier owned by the people, must always bear in mind that the new regulation will have an impact on the people," he added.
  7. Fail Before take off, can enter Guinness book as the shortest lasting airline in history.

  9. I guess what Azizul meant was VS abd Lan are in the same bussiness hence pax carriers as SQ so it makes them a competitor, maybe not directly on certain route by indirectly yes. Also Azizuls point that if SQ can venture creativly to expand offshore so can MH if they so wish too, nothing is dtopping them as apposed to being sour grapes over Ak's off shore units. From history MH had being doing 2 dailys to LHR (there was a third one for a short period). When Ak started flying to UL, Mh 2 dailys never decreased or increase in frequency. So in that sense I guess thaeir market share did not change much, otherwise they woulf have decreased the number of flights to LHR
  10. Qatar Airways increased its order for Boeing's (BA.N) new 787 Dreamliner to six from two and expects to take delivery by September next year, the carrier's Chief Executive Akbar al-Baker told journalists. http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/22041/20100504/qatar-air-to-receive-6-boeing-787s-next-year-ceo.htm
  11. The slide raft looks like cows tits
  12. Agreed rora;;y waiping. Sadly Mh has no confidence in the product. IMO MH A380 offering will be far ahead of AA, hence MH need not worry unnesaserly.
  13. Thats nonsense talk and carries no meaning. there is no such thing as "a big fat route'. Airlines have to fight for market share no matter which route it is. Only Mh has monopoly situation while all other airlines in the world virtually operate in an independent enviroment with competition. Mh is like a rich mans son, spoilt to the max. Evertime cannot get something run crying to Papa, in this case for Mas the Papa is the goverment.
  14. Thank you Air Asia for kicking the but of MH and forcing them to improve in every aspect.Improved booking system, improved advertising, improved products (soon), even creating firefly with brand new planes. Allthanks to AA. fourth, MH is not confident at all of them selves. If they were they couldnt care less of Air Asia flying to SYD. Why worry? MH will have the best equipment on that run,A380 (provided they dont cock up with smarties seats and I have full faith that they will not only get it right this time but it will turn the attention of the world to them like they did with the 777 special livery) and the best service and that alone will be a pulling power for people to fly MH on kangaroo route, pax will choose MH over even SQ or QF,so Air Asia wont even be a competitor to them,no where near. But one black cloud that looms is FFP. MH has to joinsome allaince like OW otherwise other wise they should name their enrich as enpoor FFP,because that is why many overseas customers shy away from MH. Lastly MH should get a group of aviation enthusiast (Like malaysia wings forum) and poll on the shortlisted cabin interiors and see which one is the most popular. They will get all the pro's and con's from us and that data then can be used as an added tool in their final decision on cabin interiors, mainly seat covers.
  15. For all those who are against Air Asia;s growth are actually against the countrys aviation and tourism growth and dont want to KLIA as hub of any sort. They prefer to be remain as a laughing stock of SIngapore and Bangkok ( they call KLIA a white elephant),Shame on you guys.. IN short : Tepuk air di dulang, kena muka sendiri Secondly MAS was losing money before air asia came about and is still losing money today, nothing different. Its just the way the airline is being runned, Nothing to do with Air Asia or Singapore Airlines or blame others, lets face the fact. There are 52 airines flying out of Sydney and if it is 53 there will be no difference, because ALL OF THEM ARE COMPETITORS TO MH,not only Air Asia. And that is the way they have to view it. SO what Should they do? one word IMPROVE,improve your cabin products. Thirdly look at MH domestic booking system now and before Air asia was born. Now they fill their planes because they followed AA's booking, as the plane fills up tickets become more expensive. Assuming if AA wasnt even born many of you wont be able to afford the domestic fares as they would be to expensive on MH and even then MH will be sucking up tax payers money by saying they are losing a lot of money on domestic run.I wonder why no other airline loses money on domestic runs only MH, year after year.
  16. Hopefully we will get back this stunning livery. http://www.airliners.net/photo/Iraqi-Airways/Boeing-727-270-Adv/1656312/L/&sid=3ea2f203a9d09809f3af67ff1bc49596
  17. I agree with you that lower fares will be a good idea, but it may lead to one of them or both reporting a loss in the next financial year.In todays world, as fuel prices are very high you have to use fuel efficient planes to offer low fares and using 734's will be a big burden to firefly, 738's or even better Embraer 190's will do very well with firefly, Generally in my experience, firefly is always more expensive than Air Asia. But I dont mind paying a little more to land in Subang. But if it was KLIA I will certainly choose the one with the lower fare and newer aircraft. I want to see firefly thrife not closedown because of jumping in the well and drowning because dont know how to swim, just because you saw someone else swimming in that well.
  18. Thats a very childish and immature thought. All you care is "kick air asia out' and you have been echoing that all along this forum. No wonder with people with thoughts like yours the country is falling way behind in Avistion compared to singapore because of selfish chaachter, not willing to share and grow. Your point of view is vwey narrow.
  19. OWN BACKYARD CANNOT TAKE CARE WANT TO GO OVERSEAS? If MH and FY can concentrate within Malaysia (FY, as it is doing right now) and MH KAngaroo route and MAKE PROFIT that will ge good enought. Sadly they lack management expertise to run an airline offshore and this opinion is based on the fact that theu cant even run it right within our own shores. Looks like they want to do everything AK does!
  20. You hit the nail on the head with that statement. Finally Mh has done some thing right with FY (aquiring nice turboprops and modern image,SZB ) and now they want to turn it all back wards, If they really need 737's. they should take some 737-800's from MH!
  21. Care to elaborate? All the resources? We are speaking about technology here not natural resources. Malaysia have NEVER built a plane on its own, so can you expect it to have all the rsources in R&D?Lets not get sentimental about it.
  22. What metal MH have in hand and will soon have is 734 and soon 738,Aquiring Embrear needs a lot of money to be spent to set up such as training cost and spares. If FY has the capital(not tax payers money) that they can very welll purchase that aircraft and become a regional airline. Lee in this case do they then overlap the routes of MH?Doesnt make sense.
  23. In this case firefly should take over all MH 738's and then operate as a regional airline. MH only concentrate for flights above 3 hours and operate A330's.777's and A380's.
  24. Thanks Suhaimi, that's exactly the point I am trying to make. Expanding is good but it must be in the right direction as the aviation sector is not merciful to wrong decisions.
  25. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is taking Malaysia Airlines and its cargo subsidiary to court later this month, alleging price fixing. Malaysia Airlines has become the 13th carrier to be taken to court by the ACCC for alleged cartel behavior. The commission claims that between 2001 and 2006, Malaysia Airlines Cargo “entered into arrangements or understandings with other international air cargo carriers that had the purpose, or effect, of fixing the price of a fuel surcharge and a security surcharge that were applied to air cargo carried by them and other airlines”. In addition the ACCC says that the airline reached “understandings” in Indonesia and Hong Kong to apply fuel surcharges for originating cargo and to apply a security surcharge for similar traffic from HongKong, Singapore and Indonesia. The ACCC wants the court to award penalties and costs against the airline. In addition to earlier fines totaling $38 million on other airlines, the commission so far has filed similar allegations relating to Singapore Airlines Cargo, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Garuda Indonesia, Thai Airways International and Korean Air Lines. AUSTRALIA;s WAY OF MAKING $$$ FROM AVIATION.
