  1. She would want a A380 - and maybe MH can spare one for her in near future.
  2. He didnt say exactly how MAS will win back the market share - and even if it does increase its share it be useless if MH does not make a profit but continue its losses. After so many CEOs before, its be some kind of miracle to really turn MH into a profitable airline for next few years - its no point turning in a few million profit one year andlosing for the next few years like it have been doing. Main thinhg is that MH needs a seriosuly complete overhaul and manage its costs and audit its costs - and that it shouyld not be competing with budget carriers like AK, and Lion or even Malindo in the domestic, regional and some international destinations that LCC flies to. Product change and differentialisation must be the order of the day.
  3. I have experienced 3 hard landings by MH 734s in the past couple of years, and several more than firm landings. All these happened during fair to good weather condition - once was a heavy landing in SIN, another was in KK and the third was in KLIA and not only firm but the 734 landed on its right boogie first and the whole plane was like going to jack-knife to the other side and the pax were going "oh-s and ah-s" but fortunately it set back ok. I do not buy the reasoning that these were due to "last min heavy winds or wind change" as often offered by the pilots. However in my flights with AK so far and i do travel with them at least a min of 2 to 4 sectors a month for short working trips and their landings have so far been alright and never too firm and on quite a number of occassions the landings were excellent that the pilots just "kiss" or grease the runway and all these in fair weather conditions. Just earlier this morning i was on AK 1807 at 11am and a MH A380 took off just before we did and barely two mins later was our turn - and i expected some wake turbulence on take-off from my readings but the take off and climb was perfectly normal - and the CPT landed smoothly in SIN.
  4. There are only 2 widebody aircraft that MAS can order, and that is the A350 series or the B777X and if they even put in an order now, it will take at least another 4 years before they get the 1st plane if they are lucky. Believed MAS need a few more A330E from its current 15.
  5. looks like its no surprise that MAS is losing money again and put someblame on "fuel prices". There must be leakages within MH that is still unplugged for years. MH loads are getting better and in some cases are in the high 80s to 90s. However on mainly the domestic and regional side MH is still trying hard to compete with AK which it should not be doing.
  6. actually Air Asia X A333 are already fitted for abt 400 pax
  7. looks like without privitalisation. MAS will continue to lose more money than it will make a small profit. MH with its low esp staff compared top the likes of SQ and CX which pay like 3 to 4 times that of MH staff costs and yet they make profits - and MH excuse of high oil price should not be a excuse they use all the time because all airlines pays the same high oil prices. And it seems the new CEO or that of any CEO job is to reduce MH losses is already "good" work.
  8. of course after so many attempts to help MAS out of losses, the best and logical way is to truly privitalised it and the govt not interfere in the senior management and even having to employ foreigners in the airline business. But well as expected the airline wont be privitalise as well there maybe too many private "interests" in the airline. The future of MH hence will not go far and continue to lose money more thanit will make.
  9. its just all about lax security and more so lax attitude or "tidak apa" attitude amongst the staff in MAHB and the security force numbering morethan 10,000 people - as it takes 50 days to finally take action bec of being reported.
  10. think its not "cheap" means not safe - as even the most reputable have crashes in recent years - eg Air France had a A340 crashed and finally burnt when the pilots landed in heavy rain and another of their A330 disintegrated in flight over turbulence in which investigators pointed to the pilots for lack of awareness and wrong decisions madein operating the aircraft. Even in this instance, theAsiana pilots are experienced and are not "those newer and less known ones, which could only afford to recruit fresh pilots with lesser air time in type." Even looking at Air Asia, they have very good experienced pilots and some are from known reputable airlines. Its more somehow for some unexpalined reasons that experienced pilots may somehow do things wrongly at that time.
  11. and surprising that KLIA officials reported that they are not AWARE???? - after 50 days????
  12. thelist of pilots posted above in the "video" is totally and obviously wrong - the pilot doing the landing at the time is Gang-Guk Lee and the supervising pilot is Jeong-Min Lee.
  13. No the twoflight attendents who were ejected from the plane made it and had some injuries but news showed one of them in a wheelchair about to board a plane home. The 3 pilots on board were experienced : Crew Experience - Pilot Flying Hired by Asiana in 1994 9,700 hours total flight time 5,000 hours as PIC Type ratings: A320, B737, B747, B777 A320 Captain from 2005-2013 Ground School Instructor: A320 Simulator Instructor: A320 Crew Experience - Check-Airman/Instructor Pilot 13,000 hours total flight time 3,000 hours on B777 10,000 hours as PIC Korean Air Force - 10 years Accident trip was first trip as an Instructor Pilot Relief First Officer - Sitting on jumpseat 4,600 hours total flight time 900-1000 hours in B777 Korean Air force - F-5, F-16 5-6 trips to SFO as monitoring pilot
  14. actually cant really say that OZ is really such a "safe" airline as in the past it had crashed a 737 and a 747F and all crew and pax were killed - and this would make it its 3rd aircraft crash. And yes the CPT of SQ 006 which crashed as a result of taking off from a closed runway - is flying AK now.
  15. yes MAS needs to be completely overhauled - completely with a new Management team and preferably most from outside of MH - and the government to sell off its ownership/shares in MH and even consider a big enougyh foreign stake in the "new" MH if necessary. Otherwise MH will not be profitable most of the times and the govt need to pump in billions continously or help through its 3rd party like setting up PNB (by Bank Negara) to buy planes n then lease it to MH.
  16. yes just a typical missed approach (TOGO) - nothing to do with being a budget airline or not.
  17. The plane is beyond repair as the fuselage is broken off. Surprise to know that the CPT of the plane is a Korean and only had 4 months experience on this type of aircraft.
  18. wonder how heavy the costs overruns are and when they do open - its likely be a rm5 billion airport!!
  19. dont think MH losing money is any surprise - altho in the MH380 thread there were many saying that MH will make profits. But I still believe that the A380s is too big capacity for MH and will find it more difficult to make a decent profit and can see MH offering fairly big discounts recently.
  20. well not sure if MAS can keep above waters and not make a loss. Seems that with its A380s,loads have not been breakeven esp the morning flight to LHR and even now its A380 flight to HKG and MH have to resort to massive discount especially like for its fare ex-SIN to HKG and Europe which is like the lowest of all airlines. And with Air France retruning back to KUL with its 777 - MH A380 to France will be affected alot and esp before when MH flies its 777 to Paris and the loads were abt breakeven only and with its aircraft changed to A380 - there's a big increase in seats available.
  21. as I have expected - its been delayed for few months till year end December if at all can be opened or till early next year. Doubt anyone seriously can believe that MAB can even open the KLIA2 terminal on 28 Jun this year when they announced it.
