  1. The current government will not do a thing. They got other more pressing business to attend to.
  2. And have AirAsia monopolize the market? That's dumb. All you're going to get is crappy service & sky high fares.
  3. What he means is that the government should call him to be the expert. The guy seems to not notice that the aviation industry is way different nowadays as compared to 27 years ago. Why do we have to entertain doddering old fogies everywhere?
  4. LGK is on the site, but I can't book it. Interesting that we're finally getting an LGW-LGK flight.
  5. My thoughts exactly. Why can't they base their operations in SZB?
  6. I don't think there's a strong affinity for the UK in Indonesia, unlike MY/SG, given that they had only a brief period of British rule.
  7. Someone took drone footage of the flight path, and interviewed some of the first respondents. I would think it's closer to Lestari Puchong since the area is hilly and based on coordinates Kayell beacon is in the middle of Bandar Puteri Puchong. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaubyirCTV0
  8. Those are charter flights, not scheduled correct? Just like Finnair's charters to LGK.
  9. But that doesn't explain why they are able to use aerobridges in foreign airports though.
  10. I honestly don't see why people should accept not being able to use aerobridges & avoiding going through weather as a fait accompli when flying AirAsia, especially when the company isn't averse to using aerobridges in foreign airports. The cost advantage to the passenger is minimal if not non-existent, while the operational advantages are debatable.
  11. Well given the political climate vis a vis the opposition at the time, is it any wonder?
  12. The current government played politics with the defence budget when they were in the opposition, and now the feign surprise at the state of the armed forces?
  13. Wait, first the letter berated them for e-mailing at 3 am London time which is 10 am KUL time, then they say there was no communications. So which one is it, got communication or not? As for the indifferent ground staff, what do you expect from outsourced crews...they've never been motivated to work beyond what is expected of them.
  14. How much less, not just compared to LCCs but also for other comparable non-pilot jobs?
  15. LCC pay is apparently very lucrative. So if they think its a joke then they're certainly a demanding bunch. Maybe MH would be better off finding those who are truly passionate about flying and aren't concerned about earning as much as they can. I'd volunteer in an instant.
  16. It's based on historical precedence in other markets. And Malaysia isn't really a consumer's haven where competition is encouraged.
  17. If Malindo can grow viably, they would have done so. But instead they've been stagnant. And those airline wannabees isn't going to fly if they can't fly now. They'll be like the wannabees in other countries that are here one moment, gone the next. MAB is hardly the Proton of the airline industry.
  18. Then maybe it's a problem with the aviation industry itself than the airline. Passengers keep harping about the lowering of standards, but are clamoring for cheaper & cheaper fares. Remember, for every action there's an opposite and equal reaction....
  19. Problem is, some people think that financial stimuli are wasteful, as if those money is going to be used for development anyways.
  20. First, stop introducing new cooks. The reason why the broth is spoiled is because there's too many cooks in the kitchen. Secondly, they should continue onwards with the plan set forth previously. Especially with regards to fleet replacement - they need to not only take up the MAX order, but also decide on whether to proceed with the 787 LOI or not, because the back & forth has gone long enough, almost a decade. Killing of MAB isn't going to help things. In fact, it would be bad for the Malaysian consumer since TF's strong monopoly will kill competition. Say goodbye to cheap fares then.
  21. Anyone who thinks the PH government is going to shake up GLCs like MAB for the better should come to me, because I have a bridge I'd like to sell you. The last time this happened they were good in siphoning marketing dollars to support a lowly football team, as well as free repatriations of passengers stranded by the shutting of the London route by the reds.
  22. I guess Tony is able to pull some strings to appease the higher ups. And it seems Labu is the site being chosen by the study. TF to revive his old LCC Labu concept, since I'm pretty sure the FAL will be an operating airport? https://www.nst.com.my/business/2018/07/393653/airbus-conduct-feasibility-study-assembly-line-negri-sembilan
  23. FAA directives doesn't apply outside the US for non-US carriers. So because our DCA/CAAM still hasn't given the approval, old SOP applies.
  24. I wonder how much an MH 777 would go if it was up for auction like this plane? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/travel_news/article-5933425/Locals-Thailand-stunned-747-turns-FIELD.html
