  1. All seasons: http://www.youtube.com/user/AirCrashMayday Enjoy!! prepare some popcorn!! and some tissue as well.
  2. You can actually watched all seasons on youtube. Not sure about new season, but it gets uploaded pretty quickly. Watching ACI gives me chill...especially the Alaska MD-83 crash outside SFO. Last word from captain as they hit the water: " Here we go...."
  3. Not really, as per article they are still open for A380. Airbus and Boeing (both EU and USA) are playing nice with China ever since China became economy superpower lately. CZ has A380 on order, I do think CA may order sometime in the future.
  4. O.O..didn't see this one coming. Would have expected CI. So now LH, KE, CA onboard. Who is next? That would roughly bring the total order for pax version to 30.
  5. In a related development, US AIRLINES INCREASE FARES AND SURCHARGES http://news.airwise.com/story/view/1299539786.html I cannot go back home already due to the fuel surcharges...KUL-BWN return: BI: RM550, MH: RM734 and AirAsia: *dun mention*
  6. Japan Airlines (JAL) will simplify its check-in baggage policy from April 1, 2011 for all international routes. Instead of the previous system, which used piece or weight system depending on routing, JAL will now adopt a piece system across the board with increased free baggage allowance. Under the new policy, economy class passengers will be allowed to check-in two pieces of baggage, each weighing no more than 23kg. Executive and first class passengers will now be able to check in three pieces, weighing a maximum of 32kg each. All passengers are entitled to check-in a maximum of seven bags regardless of class of travel. Charges for checking in a third bag start from JPY10,000 (US$100) per piece on international routes. Charges for overweight bags start from JPY6,000 (US$60) per piece for bags weighing between 23kg and 32kg. For bags exceeding 32kg, charges start from JPY45,000 (US$450) per piece. This baggage allowance system was previously only used for flights to the US and Canada. For flights to other destinations, economy class passengers were only allowed to check-in a total of 20kg; executive class passengers were allowed a total of 30kg; and first class passengers were allowed 40kg in total. For more information on the baggage allowance, click http://www.jal.co.jp/en/other/info2011_0304baggage.html. Hopefully all airlines will implement across the board system. With the new policy JAL Y pax can have 46kgs! if my maths is correct. Wish SQ, MH and BI hav the same system. So that uni students like me do not need to worry about weight limit.
  7. That's a first for us in MWings! Remember to do a TR yea? Always want to know how Myanmar really is. Have a safe trip!
  8. Was about to post this. but albert got it first. "On-demand inflight entertainment in economy class will become a standard feature throughout the network – which was not the case previously – and onboard connectivity will be available in all classes." Glad that TG is standardising interiors in Y. It would be good of the remainder B744 get it as well. MH, please take note. "Thai aims to introduce an Airbus A330 with improved cabin products on March 28, 2011 on one of its regional routes" HS-TEQ which was stored for over a year in Bordeaux due to Koito fiasco is now in Hamburg for interior configuration. Can't wait to see the new interior!! Exciting!! Always like the domino effects of SQ has on other carriers in SEA. First GA, MH, now TG....who's next for A330?
  9. Well its very THE volatile now... I dun know how all these FSC calculate. Take MH as an example. RM 65 deal per way for SIN..by the time they add in airport charges, fuel surcharges, and whatever not, the whole return comes to about RM460++....so much for having 'LOW' or 'PROMO' fare...try MH Search engine then you will know. LCC is a different story.....
  10. Most probably both airlines had taken account into the delay, rescheduling of flights and other associated issues. One thing for sure, AK may also taken into account cost of repairing the aircraft or insurance may help them to cover it.
  11. D7 took the same hit as well. MH in fact is better position as they have more international destinations comparing to AK to offset the snow crisis in London. It can be safely said both D7 and MH cancelled or delayed their London flight.
  12. Congrats MH on the achievement although it may be pale in comparison to AK's!! Still an amazing feat despite the difficult operating environment. However I think MH needs to get their act together as the fourth quarterly profit had slipped even though its the peak travel season.
  13. B777 line is clogged with demand for its B772LR, ER and B773ER. Freighter as well. Boeing will provide B767 with upgraded avionics from B777s...if I am not mistaken.
  14. No surprise here. Since the US government overturned the previous Airbus contract, Boeing is sure in for win. Like what flee has said: appeal on the way.... B767 is hanging by the thread therefore would really need this USAF contract to sustain the production. This is the truth and has been debated gazillion times in other forums...
  15. DJ is also panning to introduce J class on domestic B738 as well. New aircraft, new network, new crew uniform, new lounges, new interline partnership with other airlines, more to come..one word: WOW!! DJ is really trying hard to hit hard on Qantas!
  16. Wow!!! RM1.1 billion!! Congrats AK on this amazing achievement!! The financial statement is very detailed. Notice that service fee charged to D7 has doubled last year. Now, let us wait for MH yearly result. Surely, the 'spin-doctor' at MH can spin another RM1 billion right? lolx!!
  17. On a side note: Korean Air first A380 is fully painted. First non Eurowhite livery...The blue makes the A380 looks obese, IMO. http://www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/general_aviation/read.main/5075357/
  18. The new J class photo in B738 taken by Nick Ryan made it to Top 5 viewed. http://www.airliners.net/photo/Malaysia-Airlines/Boeing-737-8H6/1871665/M/
  19. Yeap yeap. The topic is debated now in airliners.net. The ATR 72s are leased through Skywest which currently only operates F-100s. E170 is too leave the fleet by end of the year as its operational cost is almost similar to turboprop for its size and range.
  20. For more reading: this just came out few hours back. http://www.asx.com.au/asxpdf/20110223/pdf/41wyyh3mshtl5s.pdf Like the new J class.
  21. Both A330-243s are ex-EK. A6-EAB and A6-EAC will be re-registered as VH-XFA and VH-XFB respectively. Lease ended with EK. (Source:http://www.planespotters.net/Production_List/Airbus/A330/365,VH-XFA-Virgin-Blue.php)
  22. Yeap, yeap!! AirAsia made the Asian aviation boomz!! I am non-airline supporter. As long as I can get cheap tickets from A to B without any major hiccups, then I am happy! Power to consumers...
  23. http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2011/2/23/worldupdates/2011-02-23T000057Z_01_NOOTR_RTRMDNC_0_-550773-2&sec=Worldupdates http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2011/2/23/worldupdates/2011-02-23T000631Z_01_NOOTR_RTRMDNC_0_-550777-2&sec=Worldupdates these two news item are enough frightening....lets hope he is merely saying it....fingers crossed!
  24. Saw it on airliners.net few minutes back. I am glad that these two pilots have sense of humanity. Kudos to them! Let us pray for our fellow friends in Libya. Gaddafi just 'declared' a war on his own people. The lowest of low one can get.
  25. Perhaps Boeing can send their B787 "Nightmareliner" since they have so many undelievered but completed frames. It will be a privilege for all to see this beauty ....
