  1. Jangan marah....sabar...everyone has rights to make comparison and right to choose their choice of airline.......
  2. If AirAsia proceeds with the purchase, it will be a turning point for CSeries program. I wonder if John Leahy is calling Tony now to order A319........
  3. This is because Arik Air Business Class on their A345 was ex Kingfisher Airlines, an airline well-known for its extravagant and luxurious fittings. Those five A345 was built but was never delivered to KF.
  4. A huge congratulation to Malaysia Airlines on the three awards. Despite all the uphill tasks it is facing, the cabin crew and employees have shown exemplary service to the world. Best signature dish:satay! No one can beat Malaysia Airlines on this. (note: Am not sure how truthful skytrax is,but hey. Lets celebrate for now.) On a side note, Malaysia Airlines didn't lost its five stars status ever, merely pending status for one year plus. Our neighbour airlines is losing its lustre.
  5. After being in storage for exactly four years at Subang, now it finally gets to fly again. I wonder how does the interior looks like.
  6. A330 IGW has garnered first order from Franborough . Maybe MH can lease from the leasing company. Be it B787 or A350....MH is late for both parties. They can actually refurbish the B777-200ER fleet as they are not that old to be retired. Just a cabin refurbishment will suffice. Bring on more A330-300, then A330 IGW. Order either A350 or B787 at the same time.....There is a huge gap in between A330 and A380 if they do not order either one of them.
  7. Thanks tukun59. I took 9M-FYC up to Penang on 9th July itself. 7:40pm flight.
  8. Not sure if you guys have seen it, but Ian Lim's photos of MH A380 are top five pix at airliners.net. Thanks mate for the beautiful pictures. Although the business class is a bit of let down due to 2-2-2 layout, overall it's an impressive aircraft. Every Malaysian can now say our national carrier is flying the dugong. The display at Franborough will further promote MAS name in international arena. MH...its not just a code, its Malaysian Hospitality.
  9. Just passed by MAS Engineering hangar. Saw at least three A330s with titles and logo removed. Seems like their retirement is gathering pace.
  10. Perhaps he is hoping for A330-200IGW. Sometimes I find AJ speech is too 'layman', not articulate enough to portray himself as a competent CEO of a mega-company. Hate running too many aircraft type?? Hmmm.....you should have rescind and stop B737-800 delivery, order 50 A320, more A330, initiate A350 order and accelerate A380 delivery. This along with ATR 72 which is also partly owned by EADS. I bet Airbus salesman can work out a good discount package for MH. By end of the decade you will have: A320-200, A330-323X, A350-900, A350-1000XWB and A380 in MH fleet. God have mercy if they do make profit every year, if not alternate years..... With the opening of Airbus Alabama plant at US, MH maybe able to jump the queue. AirAsia managed to do so as AK basically is Airbus' biggest customer to date.
  11. Indonesia and Thaliand for sure.....but they are expanding Philippines and Japan for now.
  12. By: MAX KINGSLEY-JONES, London Malaysia Airlines is evaluating whether to standardise on the Airbus A330 for its widebody operations, and could order a longer-range version if Airbus decides to develop one. "We want to rationalise the fleet - I hate running an airline with too many aircraft types," says Malaysia Airlines group chief executive Ahmad Jauhari Yahya. Speaking in London at an event to mark the introduction of the carrier's A380 on Kuala Lumpur-Heathrow services, Yahya said that this will see the airline focus on ATR turboprops and Boeing 737-800s for its regional and narrowbody operations, but the plan for the widebodies was still being evaluated. "We are looking at the widebodies. We have 15 A330s on order, but the question right now is how will we replace our Boeing 777-200ERs, which are pretty long in the tooth," says Yahya. 13. Read the news report once again....hmm, it seems like I got it wrong. Sorry...just woke up...blur. Thanks Radzi for the heads up.
  14. Agree that Petron will gain market exposure and MH gets to save on fuel bill, however, not all Malaysians know that MH will be fueled by Petron. Typical Malaysian doesn't bother with who is the fuel supplier, when does MH pay or not......worse, not all Malaysian will travel everyday. Petrol station is another story. I think giving free fuel at petrol station have wider exposure. But doubt that it can be done. There will be a riot.... :diablo: Both have your point. Hopefully, MH can reduce their fuel bill by fair bit with this free six months supply. MH may be able to turn in a bit profit or reduced loss as well. However if the loss is to swell again, then everyone will be speechless......
  15. A short history of MH blue-red cheatline livery and the new Landor-inspired livery...http://brandingsource.blogspot.com/2012/03/new-logo-malaysia-airlines.html
  16. While everyone is celebrating the inaugural flight of our 'major epic proportion', the fuel deal between MH and Petron may attract some controversy.....six months of free fuel!!! Source: http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/business/article/mas-new-airbus-to-be-fuelled-by-filipino-giant-petron-corp/
  17. A journey of epic proportion is set to begin.........Welcome home MH's flagship fleet! Many happy flying years ahead with MH! xD
  18. Thai Smile took delivery of its first A320 yesterday on 29th June 2012: Pix at Thai Airways' FB page: https://www.facebook...77952292&type=1
  19. Very smart...complement well with the new A380 livery.
  20. Have anyone read theStar today? Hellos, editor the seats look too luxurious to be J class......O.O I was thinking it would be a good idea for MH to put in some snack bar counters for Y class. After all, the aircraft is meant for long haul flight.
  21. Wow!! This pix catches the massive size of A380, gliding onto her homebase elegantly.....Thanks TK.
  22. Malaysia Airlines B737-46J 9M-MQP has been re-registered as SP-ENK for Enter Air, a Polish charter service company. Scheduled to leave soon.
  23. I am not really sure what will happen to their A330-202 on order. I think they had cancelled their 3rd. cn 1321 has been registered as 9M-XXI. Another A332 (cn 1339) is now in sequence for completion (maybe 9M-XXJ) . Surprisingly their 9M-XXJ comes after MH's 9M- MTH and 9M-MTI (cn 1336 & cn 1337). TG's A330-34X HS-TBD is cn 1338. Bothers and sisters right next to each other. Much like when MH got 999th B744, SQ 1000th, TG 1001th.
  24. Thanks for the updates. Reading the feedback on MH A380's special livery on airliners.net is like stabbing a knife into our heart..So So cruel.... Can they add more paint/design onto the overall design? If you look from far, especially the engines: Engine#2 swirl complement Engine#1....Engine#4 swirl complement Engine#3.....
