  1. Which one is more recent? I only read the one which said he will serve the full contract term.
  2. If this is going ahead, in my opinion, the top 2 candidates are: 1. IAG (parent of Irish flag carrier Aer Lingus and parent of fellow oneworld airline partners British Airways and Iberia) 2. Etihad I hope it materialises and Enrich is replaced with Avios.
  3. The total seat number on the A333 and MH's ex-AB's A332 is almost identical at +- 280 seats. Not sure about the cargo capacity but do we need that many sheep anyway.
  4. MH are the one saying that they are replacing the 15 A333. That's what that whole thread of 25 A339 neo purchase is all about. MH said the 15 A333 are leased for 9-10 years only and they will be retired progressively from 2020 until 2025. I even made a speadsheet about it in the aircraft delivery thread. I believe all MH aircraft now are acquired on leasing basis. They do not own any aircraft. The last aircraft owned by MH were the 2 B772 and the 2 freighter B744.
  5. Updating my chart with the latest news about the 6 Air Berlin's A332, which materialised. My assumptions: 1. All planned aircraft type will materialise. 2. A359 delivery is 1 per month but the 6th aircraft is in June 2018. 3. Air Berlin's A332 delivery is 1 per month beginning February 2018. 4. B789 delivery is 1 per month beginning July 2019. 5. A333 retirement at 1 aircraft every 4 months beginning January 2020. 6. A339 delivery at 1 aircraft every 4 months beginning January 2020. All are pure speculations on my part. June 2018 is an interesting month as MH will have the most number of widebody aircraft in the fleet in a while. That is just before the 6 A380s are deactivated.
  6. Are they going to standardise it to all 32 inch? Some notes about AB's A332: - AB has a total of 7 in the fleet so let's guess which one that MH did not take. - The fleet is old. The oldest aircraft is 18 years old, while the youngest is 11 years old. - All are configured 19J 271Y with AB. - It's nice that MH sourced these aircraft from AB, who is a fellow oneworld member. At least MH can claim that it is in a way supporting the alliance. - Pictures of the aircraft suggested that they are wifi enable. I hope MH will not disable this function.
  7. Yes it is. Refer to David's post #28 above. However, this is more likely for the 10 MAX 10, not the 15 MAX 8.
  8. I thought Boeing is no longer selling the -8 due to development cost/break even/economic value reason?
  9. Sharing the info from Jahur in bits corresponding to its respective threads for order of forum discussion. 25 Boeing 737 MAX breakdown: 15 MAX 8 10 MAX 10 Total = 25
  10. Having a little time to spare so I make a timeline of MH's widebody aircraft based on recent news. My assumptions: 1. All planned aircraft type will materialise. 2. A359 delivery is 1 per month but the 6th aircraft is in June 2018. 3. Air Berlin's A332 delivery is 1 per month beginning January 2018. 4. B789 delivery is 1 per month beginning July 2019. 5. A333 retirement at 1 aircraft every 4 months beginning January 2020. 6. A339 delivery at 1 aircraft every 4 months beginning January 2020. All are pure speculations on my part. Historical fleet at the height of MH in yesteryear: - 17 MP series B744 - 17 MR series B772 - 10 MK series A333 - 5 MK series A332 Total = 49 widebody in mid 2000s. MH-Emirates partnership effective from 1 February 2016. I would speculate MH will only start expanding/resuming former destinations if this partnership is terminated. Reference: QF-EK JV lasted for only 5 years.
  11. It should be a good thing. Lesser F seats (only 4 on each flight) means MH can demand a higher yield for it. Make it so exclusive that it is so hard to get them (you want it, buy it). However, at the end of the day, the seat is just an equal to QF's J, per the article. Nice info about Tokyo and Auckland being the top bets for the other A350 destinations. If AKL gets the A350, I think the redemption for F seats should be easy to secure.
  12. With all the talks about expansion to the US, Europe etc, does MH planning to stop with its existing agreement with Emirates? For how long the agreement has to be effective before any review to it can be done? 5 years?
  13. This was the cancelled product on the A380, which supposed to occupy the small cabin at the back of the upper deck, where the small Y cabin is located now. For the A350, it should follow the Y seat configuration.

  18. Oic. So they are replicating the cancelled A380 Premium Economy cabin/seat on the A350.
  19. Sharing the info from Jahur in bits corresponding to its respective threads for order of forum discussion. The Premium Economy bit does not correspond with the latest seat number that we have i.e. F4 C31 Y251.
  20. OMG precisely hahaha. I know and now convinced that I don't need a brain check after all.
  21. The issue will get the same public (forum) reaction regardless of it were spearheaded by other people than the PM. The issue to me is that PB, the CEO, who has been executing the approved business plan, seems to be caught unaware of this purchase and blabbering about considering US destinations, to conduct market study LATER ON, which is not the normal convention or simple logic in conducting business plan. When I read the first The Star article that Flee posted earlier, what I transcribed from PB's response is "We don't know where to fly these planes."
