  1. I just have a few concerns and I would love, if its not much of a trouble, for the early flyers of XFA to share stories while on the plane. You know the usual service, meals, etc... What I am more concern though is the configuration and layout of the plane. I will be flying with XFA in a couple of months from now, since I can still change my seat, I want to get the best seats, if possible. As we all know, the XL class is configured with 2-2-2. Unfortunately I am not taking that class . Im in the usual economy seat, and most of the seats are configured 2-4-2 and some with 2-3-2. At the moment, my seat are close to the exit door, so that I can go out quickly after landing. However, the disadvantage is, there are no overhead compartments for the middle seats. Those who sit in the middle, they have to put their hand luggage on the side overhead compartment. Will this be a great issue on board? Will they be very strict in the ground about how many bags you can bring onboard? Another great seat I found is at the back of the plane where the configuration is 2-3-2. My question is, would that make a difference in seating with 2-3-2 vs 2-4-2 even though u sit at the window seat? Notice that for the 2-3-2 configuration there are middle overhead compartments. I found sitting here (red box) is better, at least you may get a better leg room, is my assumption correct? Sorry, it may sound trivial to some people, but I just want to get some answers to these. At least, I know what to expect when I actually fly with XFA. Thank you. Photos courtesy of Norman taken from http://www.malaysianwings.com/forum/index....showtopic=6628. Norman, I hope you don't mind. Anyway, those who are flying tonight, have a safe journey. Azizul, you will fly tonight, right? I hope you have an enjoyable trip to Gold Coast. Thank you Azri
  2. Hehe, if CAPA gives a star rating, they may give AirAsia a 5 star.. then AirAsia is the truly 5 star airline with LCC cost. Will IJ scream?
  3. That's right, keep more coming....we just wish that MAS listens... not merely using the impossible-to-be phrase "5 Star airline with LCC cost" to justify this... http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=...6&sec=focus
  4. and also Sri Lankan Airline Yes I think we can accomodate the frequencies. This is because we are growing the market, normally the leisure market do not fly KL-SIN route (too pricey) only the business travellers, they may took train/bus instead. But now they can afford to fly with AK/TR.
  5. Yay, ive been waiting for the announcement for ages!
  6. It shows Hangzhou in the main airasia page though (the lower right frame), Not Guangzhou. I guess the destination has been revised.. http://www.airasia.com/site/my/en/home.jsp
  7. I dont mean making KUL as a transfer point, but rather a visiting place. Let's say, if a friend of mine from India who is flying to Melbourne with SQ decides to have a long transit time in Singapore (say 2 weeks). Then he decides to visit some other place during his stay. He will find flying to KUL will be less attractive because it is more expensive (even though it is only 40 min ride), as compared to flying to Bangkok (2 hr). That is bad for KUL. Same things happen for those flying to SIN transiting with a different airline (ie. Qantas), when booking a tix to other ASEAN countries, will view flying to KUL rather costly. Another friend of mine told me, he would rather go back home to Surabaya when flying from SIN rather than flying to KUL as SIN-Surabaya is cheaper than SIN-KUL! This is also partly why I have many singaporean friends who have never been to KL, and many KLites who never been to SIN (including me)! Thats why I prefer the routes be open up. More visitors mean more airlines coming to KL as well. My 2 cents.
  8. It doesn't matter what the motives are, as long as the consumers are the clear winners. The SIN-KUL route is ridiculously expensive. A lot of my friends do not want to stop at KL simply because its too expensive to fly there and therefore prefer stopping over at Bangkok instead. KL is partly losing because of this duopoly. Some people always think that KLIA will be losing out if this route is open up, but overlook the fact that it may benefit KLIA as well as more people can get to KL easier. Enough already... bring out the competition! Go AK, TR, 3R, or any others... Let the fares drop....
  9. I surfed the airasia website, to look at the fares for the newly advertised Bangkok-Jakarta route. It isn't there anymore. They have quietly withdraw the route. What happen? Trouble with the authority? What actually happen to those who have bought the tix earlier before they withdraw the route from the booking?

    MASWings

I thought they follow all the codes from parent company, MAS? So it will be IATA: MH, ICAO=MAS, Callsign=MALAYSIAN??? (Without the 3xxx) Am I right?
  11. Not necessarily..heheheh we'll see. Yah, Im interested to see how Berjaya Air flight attendant looks like
  12. what bout Berjaya Air, Sabah Air, or the Hornbill Skyway's cabin crew uniforms? I am sure they wear some sort of uniforms...
  13. During the AirAsia X RM50 offer, I called AirAsia centre the next day from Australia. The call centre is of course from Malaysia. I took a good 15-20 min wait before someone attend it. The girl on the other line was quite sweet though she can't do anything with my declined credit card. At least she responded. I have never called to MH call centre. But I did have problems with the resetting of Enrich login names. I sent them emails but never got any reply. I eventually remembered my password.

    MASWings

Even the airline name is not consistent!!! MASwings or MASWings? In the website, the word MASwings is mostly used (though MASWings is also used in some pages), yet its livery shows MASWings! Why can't they get the facts right?

    MASWings

I guess we have to bear a little bit more. I thought the website can be as efficient as AirAsia X's countdown (when they say midnight, they really mean it)..

    MASWings

http://www.maswings.com.my Do we have to wait for the midnight as well for the launch? I wonder...
  17. I believe she deserves the extra upgrades.. Its not a mere small medical procedures. She has to endure a lot of difficult stuff with limited medical kits. http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/stor...5013605,00.html
  18. Delayed to October 28 BTW azizul, i dint get the cheap OOL-KUL already, too late, so stuff it then!
  19. I tried like 5 different cards, VISA/Mastercards combined. (borrow friends, mum, dad)... all decline.. just risking myself of being blocked.. I dont know what's wrong. My only guess is that the website isnt accustomed to transaction in AUD. Coz my origin is OOL, the price is in AUD. I don't know what to do anymore. Maybe tmrow there wont be any of the AU99 price anymore. sob sob
  20. ARRRGHHH.. i tried like crazy to get the booking. all my cards lead to decline!!!.. . Does any other people get this problem? Obviously not Azizul. Did you have problems with paying with the credit card?
  21. ALL flight to KLIA hub has been converted into A320... only those originated from JB, KK, and Kuching still has B737 planes. I think they want to be fair to the sister companies. If not, it will take forever to get some new A320 planes to Thailand. Besides, the recent crash has indicated that 1-2-Go uses old planes, which is prone to accident. In a way, the new plane will restore faith on the safety of Thai AirAsia... My 3 cents.
  22. Gold Coast Airport website even has a countdown of the booking start time for AAX, Wow! http://www.goldcoastairport.com.au/
  23. 12 AM tonite malaysia time. 100 dolars one way inclusive tax.. yoo hoo.. http://www.just4airlines.com/j4_dox/email/...?story_id=31860
  24. Now confirmed. AK- KUL-Gold Coast starts on November 2. My bad, not AVV. http://www.btimes.com.my/Current_News/BT/F...143733/Article/
