  1. The only country to operate this in our region isn't it
  2. Mistakes happen. Perhaps not the fault of the D7 crew if they were on their taxi out on the right taxi way and knowing their limitations . Anything is possible. Just like descending below minimums :-)
  3. I believe there's a new 330 in the works that can go the distance right ?
  4. So thats where your increment came from eh S R K ?
  5. Wow big delay for AHX as they were stuck in TLS for quite a long time due to the volcanic ash hooplah !
  6. With heavy rain and such strong winds , there is a possibility that they might not be able to touch down on the marker , wet runway can cause braking action to be slightly impaired , better safe than sorry .
  7. Hey Tim , Thanks for the insight . I wanted to be on the safe side because I will not know for sure what airlines I'll be flying on and didn't want to be hassled with one airline letting me bring it on , and another not . Looks like I'll just have to take the gamble
  8. Hi guys , I'm expected to be travelling alot in the near future , for work reasons , and I was wondering about the limitations of carry on luggage I was thinking of getting this bag :- However , i'm worried about whether it will be allowed to be brought on as hand luggage due to its size :- Outside dimensions: 430 x 340 x 320 mm / 16.9 x 13.4 x 12.6 in From Wikipedia , the hand luggage article states : The IATA guideline states: Cabin baggage should have maximum length of 22 in (56 cm), width of 18 in (46 cm) and depth of 10 in (25 cm). The sum of these three dimensions should not exceed 45 in (110 cm). These dimensions include wheels, handles, side pockets, etc. So I am within in some terms and i'm not in some areas , how can I know for sure that a bag I'm going to be buying is definitely carry on friendly . An example of airlines that I'm interested in would be Air Canada , Singapore Airlines , Cathay Pacific , and some others
  9. Weather looks like crap , pictures superb as always .. Why the sticker on those FY aircraft
  10. Thats alot of roll for a touch down .... hmmm .... 44 kts ... never tried that I think
  11. Jakarta, Indonesia (CNN) -- A Merpati Airlines plunged into a river Tuesday after overshooting a runway in Manokwari, Indonesia, the transportation ministry said. Twenty of the 103 people on board the heavily damaged Boeing 737-300 were injured, said ministry spokesperson Bambang Ervan. The incident, which occurred as the plane was landing, is under investigation.
  12. Very interesting ! Brakes on fire perhaps ? He couldn't have cooked his brakes that good
  13. If you guys have been to the AirAsia academy , every class has a photo ' stolen ' from a.net You'd all be fuming ... I see some of TK , somehow a good amount of ChaiTY
  14. Aiman , he made the decision , and there was nothing wrong with that decision , go around , assess the situation , perform the checklist , and then land the aircraft . It is a norm and I don't see anything wrong with him taking some time to put the plane on the ground
  15. Should be a great one , I'd reconfirm as the date gets closer , but if I'm free , I'm definitely up for it ! sounds like good fun !
  16. Ehem Ehem , take it from the man who filed the law suit ! hahaha ! Just the wrong person to tick off I suppose
  17. Where is the 737 I was guessing would've already been posted here
  18. Excellent way to put it Walter , SAZ , thte only way you going to see it in Malaysia is if some flying school in Malaysia were interested in partnering up with CAE for this unbelievably expensive program
  19. I agree with Pieter , I find it amusing that all the replies are in English except yours
  20. I don't buy it ... A lot of which simply do not make sense . ALTN LAW is not a do or die situation and it is very manageable for sure . How did they restart the flight computers ? sounds so funny . It sure sounds like a story they're trying to sell to the media
  21. Type rating , I believe its in the region of about 50k USD to get your A320 type rating from CAE Kuala Lumpur You take type rating here , VERY likely you'll get a job in AirAsia , in my humble opinion But heck , what do I know ... I've no idea what a simulator is
  22. AirAsia are taking many guys who already have type rating , most of which Are the " Ex-MAS jump to EK / EY " gang . They are not too interested in investing in fresh guys , they want guys who can fly in a month
