I passed by the Emperor's Entourage near the Ipoh Tunnel on the North-South Highway while I was driving back to KL from Penang... The time was around 1100 What I heard... the Emperor (& Empress, I guess) flew straight to IPH from SIN on board special MH's B734 ... Peter Smith 1 Report post Posted June 10, 2006 2 744's are used for the same reason as VC-25A's 28000 and 29000 (more commonly known as Air Force 1). For two main reasons, 1) you cant tell which a/c the dignatries are on, 2) if one goes u/s its not a hassle or embarrassing for the travelling parties. Radzi you weren't flying -MMQ today were you? IPH can't accomodate 74's I was also driving from Penang to KL on the same day and I guess almost the same time. Police were everywhere on the highway and there were road blocks a highway entrance at Ipoh. It gave the highway a long tail of stagnant traffic and impatient dirvers were everywhere to be seen.
