Rumour: Qatar Airways downgrading plane from A330 to A300

I saw the official site that Qatar Airways is downgrading the aircraft from an Airbus A330 to Airbus A300 from Doha-Kuala Lumpur this April based on its timetable.

Just checked DOH-KUL-DOH on their website for 26jun-01jul, and it still shows A330-300 and A330-200 resp.

on Monday, Thursday and Sunday, Qatar will send in A332 while the rest of the week they will be utilizing the A300 in the new schedule.

Thats pathetic isnt it ? After their big launch last year on their new A330 service to KUL and now they want to change it back ?

Has the capacity and demand on the Middle Eastern carriers to KUL reached maximum level? I wonder what will happen once EK sent their A380 to KUL (IF they are planning to do so).

 

EY is downgrading capacity too from B77W to A332. But at least they will return to B77W in the new 'scheduling season'.

I think EY is doing it because of lack of aircraft.

QR has probably the same problems but they have been and are continuing to treat KUL like dirt - all other ASEAN destinations (apart from DPS as it is linked to KUL) are getting the A330.
