Finding AK and LCCT defects

Recommended Posts

Well quite a boring day today, me and Chan CS were chatting about the defects we had seen on AK planes, and we got an idea of this thread. Traveling with cheap tickets and using LCCT, mostly expected to see this kind of defects anyway.

So start post yer photo guys! :)

Note: Not a thread to personal attack AK&Co or LCCT.

I went through my database of photos and found 2 of them.

The other screen never get to pass the DOS screen even I'm almost departing home.

With 25 minutes of turn around time and can't afford to lose time for delay, the LAE can't do any rectification, that's what happened. Or Red Tail airline doesn't has any spares for it, who knows... ^_^

As for my flight, it was the first of the day, which mean the aircraft had a nightstop in BKI.

Hello Malaysian wings lovers,

I think I have another deficit of the LCCTerminal. Coming from Medan on August 21 with AK939 arriving 22:05 I have to catch the next flight with Emirates to AMS which departs 00:55 (Aug 22). Purchased my tickets through the internet (May 18) and this was the first time I was on the site of AirAsia. Went through all the info on the site and thought that this cheap aircarrier was the best connection for me. usually three hours is enough for a transfer. After having done all the reservations, including the Concorde Inn I started to look for more info on LCCT. Last time I was in KUL was 4 years ago. Came accross the shagadelica.net pages and more and started to wonder if there would be a passenger transfer service from the LCCT to the MTB or the satellite terminal .

Didn't find anything about this transfer on this great forum and sent an email to KLIA and AirAsia, as well using their forms for inquiries or questions. But no answer yet. From the other sources I found on the internet neither found a firm answer to the question how international transfer is organized at KLIA if using the LCCT.

If there indeed is no service for luggage to be transported from an aircraft at LCCT to the MTB or Satelite terminal and one has to go through customs at LCCT first and then the complete checkin procedure at the MTB again (after having had that only an hour before at MES) ..... This must be frustrating.

So please, if someone can tell me whether there is a facility to change airliner (transfer between international flights) inside custom area or one has to go out and surround the airport to check in again at the MTB I will be gratefull.

I also read a topic about the airport tax. I purchased my electronic ticket May 18 for flight to (July 11) and from Medan (Aug 21) and paid for 4 pax the sum of 140 MYR which means 35 pp. I agree with those that want to have money back because AirAsia will pay for the airport tax the first time on July11 and then the airport tax is only RM25. In my case I should get a refund of 40 MYR. But won't try it because the AirAsia helpdesk didn't even give an answer to my question about the transfer...

And if I find some cracks on board the AirAsia, July the 11th I'll make a picture and post it here if we survive. I have seen similar malfunctions on board Garuda plains, even had to extinguish a fire below my seat once.

Thanks in advance and greetz from Holland

JAcob

sorry for this long version of my question, the short version was too short.

Not to be condescending, but thats how it works in Malaysia, the EMAIL feature in most governmental agencies MAB included are not properly taken care off. I've sent countless emails to MAB, guess what no reply.

Welcome to Malaysia

AK operates at a point to point basis.Meaning even you have a connecting flight with AK, you will have to get your baggage out and then check in again. So no can do about

As transfers within LCCT and KLIA there are bus services available from the LCCT to the MTB, and also taxis. Just get your luggage and go to the bus/taxi counters; not sure which one though but it should be easy to find as LCCT isnt that huge afterall.

Get your luggage into the bus/taxi and off you go to KLIA, should take around 20 minutes i suppose?

I would be interested to hear more about that...

And also a big welcome to you Jacob. Welcome to MalaysianWings! Hope you will enjoy your stay here :drinks: :drinks:

Unfortunately there is no interlining between AK and other airlines at the MTB....... :( so looks like you'll have to clear the custom, drag it around to the other side and check-in again.

Thank you Walter and Radzi for welcoming me and giving a clear answer to the transfer question.

Thus:

I hereby declare this a real disadvantage of using LTTC for international travellers (that don't have enough money to travel internationally :)

And maybe also valid for the cheaper airlines.

About the Garuda seat; it was on a long flight from AMS to SIN that I smelled something burning, plastic. We were seated in the middle (5 seats) row just in front of the movie screen. The smell was alarming, so I stood up and walked around. But the source had to be where I sat, I looked under the seat and suddenly saw some smoke coming out from beneath the cushion on the seat. I lifted that bottom-cushion and saw two electrical wires that were smoking and maybe because I lifted the cushion gave a small flame. Tearing them apart was enough to stop the process and I called the stewardess. Showed her the blank wires and the traces of burnt material and guess what ? she didn't see the problem. Asked her to inform the cockpit crew about this in need of repair cables and seatnumber. She would do so and I used some plastic to insulate the wires and put the cushion back in the seat. Expected the flight engineer to come by and inspect my first aid repair. And again disappointed, noone ever came back. We left the plane with a note about it on the card for complaints.

Which lead it was ? I don't know till today, maybe 24 Volts and regarding the thickness fit for appr 8 Amps, and assumed it had something to do with the overhead lights.

And I'm still wondering why the Garuda crew didn't show any interest in this potential dangerous situation, malu ?

So far so good, I'll inspect the AirAsia before boarding. One of the advantages of having to board an acft via the apron. :)

Hmm. Looks like AirAsia is starting to turn into ScareAsia. Haha. I took 2 round trips with AK. LGK-KUL-LGK runs. The 737s are pretty worn out, I'd admit. The first flight I took with them was steaming hot(crappy air conditioning) during the fasting month and I skipped lunch in respect for my friend who was travelling with me. Whole cabin seemed very tired and discoloured. Crew make up was starting to melt before my very eyes. Not a very pretty sight. My second 733 trip with them, aboard the Amazing plane wasn't Amazing at all. Cabin with lights still seemed a little dim unlike the MH 734s. The A320 trips were good though. Spanking clean. So yeah. I remember on my trip onboard an MH734 once, the air conditioning in some row wasn't working. I think it was 6/7 ABC. Not too sure. Was surprised to see the captain come out to inspect it and talk to the passengers mid flight to see if they were good. Was a nice touch. The second plane I took after my original ride (some immaculately clean 734 with wings gleaming) I think it was -MQO with the brown carpet went bust. Haha. Was rather ironic.
