Christopher Lo JK 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2016 Saw this heli kept doing holding patterns at the south of airfield, probably they were under training. Is this Air Force or Army and what is it? Mr.Charles, it is supposed to be from Royal Malaysian Air Force(RMAF). It is an Eurocopter EC 725 Caracal(Cougar) and was displayed during Lima 2015. Hopefully, I have replied your question. If the info given is wrong, anyone is welcomed to correct it.

charles 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2016 The Malindo that had to do an emergency landing cos of low fuel- couldn't they divert to Miri? or was it something else?
BC Tam 2 Report post Posted June 5, 2016 ..... - couldn't they divert to Miri? or was it something else?I'm guessing it may be they don't have OD people at MYY (or any other place on Borneo island) to handle the situation. Of course they can get others to do the job, but bear in mind 'others' would likely be the competitors (know what I mean ?)

Muhammad Firdaus 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2016 Can't get my eyes to sleep after Fajr so I decided to go early morning shooting purposely for HX. Finally at exactly 06.30hr 18 June 2016, B-LPL as flight HX716 showed up making her way to R25. Lighting was not great because of the light drizzle hence some touch up in photoshop.. just to share. szesyn 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2016 Does anyone know why AK renumbered its KCH-SIN-KCH flights back to 4 digits. Just came back from SIN and noticed my usual AK776 is now AK1776. I though international flights are 3 digits (for AK at least).
szesyn 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2016 Possible TPE-KCH flight in the future: http://www.theborneopost.com/2016/07/01/state-explores-possibility-of-taipei-kuching-direct-flight/#ixzz4D70CFx66 There is potential in this route. Even more than HKG-KCH I believe. I traveled last year to TPE via BKI on AK. 3/4 of the passengers on the flight both ways were ex KCH.

Muhammad Firdaus 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2016 From the article, it seems they are looking into a direct flight between KCH and TPE. Lets just hope this would materialised then we could see EVA or CAL in KCH. Only this time, give us spotters justice by not coming in the wee hour

szesyn 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2016 I'm guessing transit at BKI would not have been very convenient ? I'm guessing transit at BKI would not have been very convenient ? Yes, a couple of hours of waiting. The real inconvenience is transferring from domestic AK to international AK flight at BKI and vice versa. Rather chaotic and no proper guidance. A good number of the passengers were going to TPE for Tzu Chi (international Buddhist association HQ in TPE with KCH branch) business.
