Muslim flight attendant says she was suspended for refusing to serve alcohol

Recommended Posts

On MH flights, did the Muslim crews are also serving alcohol? Cause I used to see some did...

Probably those less observant do not mind serving it.

FWIW Guinness back in the 60s had an ad in Malay (with the old spelling and decidedly 60s fashion) declaring that it was "baik untok kita".

Back to the topic, it would be interesting to see how the airline would play this one out. Stick with their gun, and they might get decried for trampling on freedom to practice one's own belief; back off their stand, and they will more than likely get lashed out by certain quarters as "un-American".

Yes, MH muslim crews do serve alcoholic drinks to passengers! For me, it's simple. If you think your current job is betraying your faith and belief, drop it and look for another job. Suffice to say that you a soldier and you think killing is against your faith, don't be a soldier.

Employment is voluntary, is paid to get a job done. If employee refused his/her duty should face disciplinary action or resign.

ASHLAND, Ky.—A federal judge jailed a Kentucky clerk on Thursday for contempt after she repeatedly defied his order to issue marriage licenses to gay and straight couples, imposing his authority in the most high-profile challenge to the U.S. Supreme Court ruling legalizing same-sex marriage.

If a job is not suitable due to whatever reason, the employee should be looking for another job that confirm to his/her requirement.

Unless, of course, it is his/her father's company.
