ANA Return to Kuala Lumpur from 1 September 2015; 2 Daily B787-8 from 30 October 2016

Ironically, a Star Alliance airline increases frequency instead of oneworld at one of oneworld hubs.

Nothing ironic about a *A carrier launching a new route from one of its hubs :)

I think I saw it as TYO but can't remember if it's on ANA website or JAL website.

TYO is indeed the code to denote Tokyo, and this nomenclature is commonly used for cities with multiple airports.

The basis for this is the usage in fares which allow some/all the applicable airports in that city as being acceptable "co-terminals" for departure/arrival - if the airline operates to it.

A GDS query for SIN-TYO on NH will pull up both SIN-HND and SIN-NRT flights.

Other commonly used coterminal cities - NYC, LON, BER.

They do not tag luggage to TYO, NYC ... etc do they ?

Once someone tagged my bag to LON (those days when the tags were handwritten) - I got so worried I insisted they change it

Always wondered if the bag would have arrived at same airport as me if otherwise :)
