Kwek 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2006 Here's my first contribution to the Observation Hill section. 17 Mar Friday. Good weather, was on vacation leave so proceeded to T1 for some spotting. Passing by the Central Apron mall, ah Valuair pushing back. Note the Air Sahara with winglets in the background. Unfortunately later on, she taxiied to the other runway for departure. Turned left to the viewing mall just in time to catch the nose of NCA rushing for departure on 02L. A couple of departures, before she took off in turn. Then a Qantas jumbo was heading for the viewing gallery: One of SQ's 58 B777s returning to her home base. ....to be continued.
Sneeze Lam 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2006 nice shots, Kwek This Observation place is really nice to have shots. May I know, if all the taxi ways there reopened?
Kwek 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2006 Qantas provided a dash of colour. So did Adam Air.. Then came the heavy cargo planes Rotate! A more modest sized cargo hauler dropped by. Another hauler. Time for the twins: in various colours... ....and sizes Stopping in front of the viewing mall. Have a Tiger on me. That's all for a couple of hours there. That was my last session at the T1 viewing mall. Sadly access to this spot was closed for forever at noon on 19 March. Hope you enjoy the short tour.

Sneeze Lam 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2006 (edited) Sneeze, Which taxiway? There's always some areas closed for repair or expansion work. well, kwek, thanks anyway. I think it is not a concern for those taxiways now, since the observation area has been closed forever. Edited March 30, 2006 by Sneeze Lam

Chaity 1 Report post Posted March 31, 2006 Hi Kwek, nice shots with different varieties. I am quite sure the glass in the terminal is tinted. Some how the colors look natural. Have you done any color retouching on those photos ?
Kwek 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2006 The glass at T1 is very lightly tinted. Not obvious enough to need colour retouching. Only a bit of contrast adjustment for some pictures shown here. Kwek 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2006 Don't bother about the public viewing area in T2. It's on the floor above departure. Sad part is that no decent photo can be taken as it is housed in a glass cage overlooking the restricted area, with another glass in the front of the makan area. Kwek 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2006 I wish I have an answer to that. Let's wait and see. All I know is that there will be a viewing mall - how good or bad remains to be seen. So, what we can look forward for will be the T3's?

Thanks Kwek, then we are all depending on you for the most up-to-date information for that mall. And have a MW global member meeting there.

Sneeze Lam 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2006 Sorry, missed your post. The T1 spot is being turned into an Emirates lounge. Ah...the power of money. <_> Norman, sorry for my OT (maybe). So, I would like to know from Kwek that, for the information that I have got last year, that area will be closed since mid-Nov. But how come it has just been closed in March for the EK Lounge? Well, my last visit to SIN and so do the viewing area, I met a class of kindergarten children for thier out-class learning. Quite shocked by them. But they are nice. Kwek 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2006 Sneeze, It was supposed to close last year but somehow it was delayed a few times. Maybe someone above is helping us. We were really happy and grateful that we still have the viewing gallery during the Asian Aerospace period. Norman, sorry for my OT (maybe).
