AirAsia to launch Kota Kinabalu - Hong Kong; Fares from HK$ 299

 

AirAsia is to launch direct daily flights between Kota Kinabalu in East Malaysia and Hong Kong on 1 June 2010.

 

To celebrate the new route, AirAsia is offering all-in-fares for Kota Kinabalu to Hong Kong from as low as RM139 (HK$299) one way. Booking is available from today until 18 April 2010, for travel between 1 June 2010 and 13 February 2011.

More rich Sabahans can shop and spend their weekend in HKG. At one time, there were more RM500 and RM1,000 notes circulating in HKG than in KUL.

and not to forget the bold move to reinstate a rather weird route (like the BKI-LBU), PEN-LGK starting 13th May!

PEN-LGK is rather weird - any possibility that it is an unpressurised flight?

 

I guess AK is trying to max the use of their Penang hub aircraft, and perhaps to compete with Firefly...
