SC Chow 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2009 Hi there, just returned from my trip to Korea. As usual, I had taken some aviation photography that I think is worth to share. No professional photographer nor good camera here. Just some hit and run photos. Looking around... A KAL 737 took off Busy traffic around Jeju International Asiana A300 final approach Arrival KAL A300-600 turbofan KAL 747 final approach at Incheon International KAL 747 on gate KAL A330 which I'm travel with to and from Kota Kinabalu

S V Choong 4 Report post Posted December 28, 2009 Looks like the first few pics were taken at Gimpo International Airport, the former international airport for Seoul. When I first landed there in 1998 enroute to KIX, it was still the international airport, our KE A330-300 had to park at the tarmac as it was pretty congested. Then I caught KE's B747-300 to KIX
Tamizi Hj Tamby 1 Report post Posted December 28, 2009 Thanks for sharing the photos! Looks like KE still operating A300-600s;There's one A300-600 (HL7242) painted in special color, named 'Harbi' to promote Jeju-do (Jeju Island),but the 'Harbi' livery is already removed from the aircraft. My guess for your flight;Seoul-Gimpo(GMP)-Jeju(CJU)-Seoul-Incheon(ICN).Am i right?
BC Tam 2 Report post Posted December 28, 2009 KAL A330 which I'm travel with to and from Kota Kinabalu When did you travel outbound/inbound BKI if you don't mind me asking ? With Multiclients by any chance ? We were on OZ 19th and 26th
SC Chow 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2009 Yup, sharp eyes you got there SV, some of the photos on top are from Gimpo Intl, somehow those photos seems to rearrange themselves when I upload, so it mess up with the timeline. My flight were from BKI >A330-200> Incheon >Bus> Gimpo >A300-600> Jeju >A300-600> Gimpo >Bus> Incheon >A330-200> BKI Flight from KKIA to Incheon was KE674, around 12am on 20/12/2009 while the returning flight was KE673, around 6pm (+9 GMT)on 26/12/2009
BC Tam 2 Report post Posted December 29, 2009 Then we were waiting in adjoining holding lounges ! KE was always something like 10-20 minutes ahead of OZ Would you mind if I tumpang your thread to paste a few pics of mine ?

BC Tam 2 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 Thank you ! (Apologies in advance for the horrendous reflections, glares and unprofessional point and shoot pics !) First off, I believe this would have been your ride waiting for you at gate 4 What was to be OZ758 making her way to gate 3. Same thing after all these years, those $^%#!#@ tiang lampu's OZ8909 waiting for us at Gimpo, for a short hop to Jeju Earlyish morning on 22 Dec, OZ8902 waiting to ferry us back to Gimpo Quite busy traffic that morning at Jeju Back at Gimpo, getting ready for Seoul ! OZ757 waiting to bring us home. After seven long days, the apathy is quite evident, not that the windows at Incheon helped much
Tamizi Hj Tamby 1 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 Thanks for sharing your photos,BC;Glad to have KE and OZ operating flights to BKI (BKI is the only place to see OZ passenger aircrafts,as they only operating cargo flights to PEN).

Yoong 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2010 Just a bit of advertisment here...... Anyone want to visit Korea this coming CNY? If yes, make your choice with Korean Air. They are using 747 instead of 737 for this coming CNY. For more information, ask you local travel agent. ^^ Cheers!

Hope you mean the BKI-SEL route, Yoong, as we definitely booked KE ex AMS to fly the 332 and 772/773 as our connecting flights to/from SGN... BTW, there are 2 KE TR's on A.net of an AMS-MAD-AMS flight, by 2 different A.nutters; check it out, and you'll be able to see the KE-service...

BC Tam 2 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 (edited) Yes, SEL-BKI-SEL on 747 for 13 / 14/ 16/ 17/ 20/ 21/ 23/ 24/ 27 & 28FEB. That is one heck of an increase in capacity over a half month period ! Any particular reason you can put a finger on ? Do the Koreans do a CNY exodus like the Chinese ? Come to think of it, do Koreans even observe the lunar new year ?! Interesting to see if Asiana also put on extra capacity MH - well maybe if response is good this year, next year think about it lah ! Korean celebrate the same New Year as the Chinese and Winter Festival too. They celebrate the lunar calender birthday instead of the international calender. Most of the ads I saw in the newspaper these few weeks featured tours to places in Mainland China only. Boring a bit leh... Btw, got a few friends just came back from Korea and they were telling me it's freezing cold over there -14 degree Celcius.
