  1. Thanks Pieter for the info. Means a lot, especially when its coming from the expert photog. Hey Norman, R U coming to SIN Airshow? Would be good to see the KL MW group there too.
  2. Shot taken from the HILL @ about 23:05! Only other safe area is probably IN-&-OUT. Actually I live in Connecticut and call New York my home ports (about 120 miles from CT). However whenever opportuinity presents I hop to LA too :-) Yes its Canon 100-400 L IS lens. However IS function is OFF (Canon recommends IS to be in OFF when tripod mounted). Today the stupid marine layer is engulfing the LAX field and its really yucky So decided to drive 60 miles NE to Victorville and get some stuff. While I was there for 30 minutes winds picked up bout 20+ knots and we had reduced vis due to sand storms! This three-holer in perfect spot, not sure where its from. Foxtrot-Foxtrot, may U rest in peace. N49082 & N59083 fighting the desert elements. Looked like this just arrived at Victorville yesterday. Cheers to MW members! More to follow... Raj
  3. Thank you Desmond, Samuel & Walter for nice words, figured I try something different since I have a tripod and almost never use it. Tried between 1 to 6 sec exposures with 100-400 lens @ ISO 100.
  4. Some quick edits from LAX, Ah, El Al jet at daylight hours, From In-and-Out berger lot, Lets head to Tahiti New traffic into LAX these days, Fully loaded cargo hauler, Trying some night scenes at LAX, Kiwi being towed to TBIT for late evening departure, Two China birds in the night, Late evening busy scene at TBIT. More to follow, Raj
  5. KC, thanks for quick uploading and sharing the coverage. Looking forward for the rest.
  6. Kevin, spotting is fairley easy at both places. Just be sure to bring a good reading book or your laptop as traffic is very light at KBFI and even lighter at KPAE. Unfortunately we saw only 1 B737 do touch and go at KPAE. There was no other jetliner movement that we caught (we did miss AI B777 & UPS 744 delivery departures)! KBFI was bit busier as we caught 5-8 different new jetliners in 2 days. Also must to visit is the Museum of Flight at BFI and also be sure to take the Boeing tour at KPAE ( $15.00).
  7. Good eye Pieter, yup it was close but KBFI have a short 3k parallel and it was going for the left side. Well here is some more stuff from KBFI. N835BA, we saw this @ KBFI, KPAE and today when we arrived at LAX we spotted it! Jet's newest baby, VT-JGY took off for Gander for delivery flight. This is what we saw at midnight and having seen earlier during the Boeing Tour it was awesome to see a new jetliner being build, and get it ready for delivery. The giant hanger doors takes 4+ minutes to open... and out comes ....Qatari 777 Passing the interstate to get painted and onto test flight line. Lined up next to brand spanking new TG 777-200 at the 'fule line'. A wide angle shot of the sun coming up over the 'barn' Again it was totally awesome to be at KPAE and KBFI, only wish wx was better but than again its Seattle. We rolled with the punches (just like the jetliners rolling off production line) Raj
  8. Hello, Eric and I started the tour on Tuesday for Seattle and Los Angeles. After being delayed for 4+ hours and arriving at 3am instead of 10:30pm! However things got much better on Wednesday as we did the Boeing Tour @ Paine Field and then the Musuem of Flight tour in afternoon at Boeing Field . Here are some of the pics... After finding out KORD wx report, I changed my routing and made a 12 hour layover for some inbetween spotting Love the new colors on UA Jumbo, This one made my layover a worthwhile, espeically parking right in front of me Some new jetliners.... Air India is in middle of expanson and we saw FOUR Triple Seven in one day! One left for delivery flight, while here is the couple. This is named after the state I was born in India, "Gujarat" A-300 in final stages of being prepared for delivery Another new one for us, More to follow....
  9. Almost on tarmac, as the 30 feet wide gate was completely open to allow the buses go back and forth. The VIP list was a short one so unfortunately could not be accomodated onboard.
  10. Yes that landing did look bit risky. My guess, a sudden wind gusts maybe.
  11. Well it was thrilling day.... a visit by the largest jetliner in the 2nd smallest state! Crowds were estimated at 1500+ and it was a scene of oos and aah as the guest of honor made appearence. She was here for the employees of Pratt & Whitney and Hamilton Standard. Heres my report.... After landing on Rwy 06 "Echo Alpha" turns towards deicing area as AA 73 is about to line up Rwy 06 After the sun moved.... Sorry Gordon, I wish you could have stayed. This one is for your efforts spotting @ BDL Comparing the 2 BUSES! This is how VIPs got bused in front of the jetliner. And now the regular stuff.... A group of 3 A10s from CT ANG made a low pass over Rwy 24, brokeoff and landed.... Arriving... Departing... Always a pleasure to catch the old colos... Raj Changela Pleasant Valley, CT
  12. LeeCH, have spotted twice @ VABB, however both times not so great luck. BOM has great traffic but it is still iffy for spotting. The location is right in the middle of densly populated area and not necessarily unsafe but be prepared for large crowds of kids! I was able to snap 3-4 shots before local police nicely kicked me out But last few weeks see more and more stuff coming out from there.
  13. Malaysian 89 from Narita.... it's Heliconiaaaaaa :diablo: Great Just booked ticket for Singapore Airshow and KL visit. Raj C
  14. I'll second Norman.... Love it.... excellent turn shot. Raj
  15. Visit http://nycaviation.com/ for some excellent info. Also better months are Oct-March as low humidity and haze works better for digital photogs. Lastly let me know 3-4 weeks ahead of time and we can plan a get together and show you around the spots & also spot together. Just like KLIA, KJFK is a huge place and with 4 rwys, its bit harder to catch the traffic you want. But it can be done :-) Raj
  16. Thanks Pieter, (you probably already know), I forgot to mention the repainted DL 757 is ex TWA machine. Raj
  17. Fall is here and so are the clear skies... some from my weekend visit... AI 141 arriving non-stop 7 mins after sunrise... My spotting bud... aka the 'lookout'...he stuckout there for 1 hour.. This El Al frighter with a funky door... Never noticed the classic AF logo on the GEs All TRIPLEs kicked up nice sand due to jetwash... Haze was a killer, but then again we dont get this at Bradley A different prospective.. the jump sitter starring at the park right at us... Besides Cathay, my other favourite airline... Phils Ferrari... New colors growing on me know... Raj
  18. Thanks for the nice comments. Heres some more, AZ brought both 67s on each day. I saw this last summer there too. Think this one is relatively new and temporary color scheme. Company colors This one came in as DHL Flight And now some homies.... :-) Anniversary Colors As the local spotters called it, " Sixteen " , she is passing at prescise 18:10 (arrival time) inbound from VHHH... Lastly, the big sister gliding over the DIXIE ROAD with T3 in the back (notice the wing reflection!) Raj
  19. MW Forums always have some great coverage of aviation scene around the globe with quality shots. Needed some break from daily routine, so decided to head up north to the boarder Heres some of the stuff from 4 days. We had nothing but nice sunny Canadian skies and it was also Toronto Airshow Weekend This came there from MO ANG for the support. It gave me goosebumps to see our bird from Tri-State area. (on the side note, met a Canadian writer in the crowd who commented, "You folks did elect lousy president, but sure know how to make fantastic flying machines!" Soon after the departure, the FALCON PATROL SUV was all over the Thrushold area with gun shots and the speaker noises! One of the two Star Alliance 340 gingerly taxing in great light to 06L. My favourite angle for the stubby Airbus. Triple Time:Inbound from EGLL, this one soared over my head at 80 feet! AC015 Non-Stop to HKG is about to line up Rwy 23. This is 1 of 2 LRs in the fleet at present. Another LR caught in action. Heading to Rwy 23 for a non-stop to Karachi. Love this angle on a T7. Lastly, when about to pack the camera, a Cardinal flies by Its been a while in the forum, however now that I have moved out of 56K relm, I am more likely to participate. Later, Raj
