  1. If they can discuss something with SQ, it's doable. But both belong to difference alliance. Maybe use the aircraft for shuttle route and domestics.
  2. So this mean no immediate plan for the return of FY jet ops.
  3. Garuda has two retro livery. Perhaps you guys could suggest to MAS to have another one retro livery?
  4. I'm sorry guys. EC-LKB actually arrived yesterday around 6pm during rain. Now in Airod. Maybe she will fly again after one month.
  5. EC-LKB B737-400 freighter expected to arrive in Subang this evening or night, or tomorrow morning. From Palma de Mallorca, ex-Alba Star will be de reg and re reg as 9M-GSA for Gading Sari. Acceptance and painting will be done in Airod.
  6. There have never been shortage of pilots. Shortage of wannabe pilot, YES.
  7. Not to ruffle anyone's feather, especially to senior forum members. But what is there to lose for publishing parts of the whole livery to discerning public groups and forums like Malaysianwings before the intended launching? We are here to share excitement of latest happenings in local aviation. As far as i am concern there's nothing immature and indecent about sharing the latest color scheme of MH's narrow body fleet. We are just feeling excited by the prospect of seeing the colors during glory days of Malaysian Hospitality, so they say. Fora is the place of people with similar interest sharing information and materials deemed interesting to them. In this internet era, most of all are not even legal entity. What MH can do instead of getting disappointed over nothing (ya not gonna lose sales arent you?) they should instead engage this group of aviation enthusiast during the launching of 'retro' campaign and help spread the excitement. For MH, you are just dinosaurs. Certainly this is one of the reason to learn from AirAsia. Restrictions curb innovations and creativity. Start thinking outside the box. Instead of us Malaysianwings forummers have to do everything that does not disappoint MH, for me it should be the other way around. Just my not-so-humble opinion a.k.a constructive criticism.
  8. why CGK? maybe to put it head-to-head with Garuda 'Indonesian Airways' retro livery
  9. Why haven't they come out clean and print the news that the PAS government is bringing the matter to court? In Penang, UMNO called DAP racist, same time MCA called DAP is trying to 'Islamise' the state. Contradict much?
  10. The best cost effective paint shop for AirAsia X is Lufthansa Technick Philippines in MNL. For all white on A340-300 costs RM 180,000. SIAEC in Singapore first quoted RM 250,000 but upon negotiation they lowered it to RM 180,000. They send it to MNL anyway since the job quality is top notch. Stripping can be done in 1 day only. SAE EADS Sepang not so good. This is what my friend told me.
  11. From their business model, i think the crews will spend their nite in Barry Inn
  12. I only bought the star for their sports section
  13. Yeap, if D7 wanna let them go for reasonable price. However these are all still internal rumours. Plans for D7 aircraft in BKI, my friend has no comment on that. But year 2014 gonna be big for D7 since they will receive more than 10 aircrafts. Okay back to topic. For Philippines market, my opinion, if they really want to be significant player they have to rethink their stand not to move to MNL instead of CRK.
  14. Rumours heard from my friend within AirAsia group is that they are withdrawing from Japan, for AirAsia Japan. Load have been below 50% most flights. 7 A330-300s for next year delivery will be used mainly for additional frequency for existing destinations. They are also rethinking about A350s since business model changed. To focus on flights below 8 hours.
  15. Funny, Boeing and Airbus swapping each others wingtip 'design', enlarged it and give it a new name. For me it's pretty pathetic for Airbus to name it Sharklets. It has nothing to do with shark. Just another way of doing it for the European i guess.
  16. The latter three, for me Cebu Pacific is highly unlikely. No sizeable Filipino community in Penang to justify the flight.
  17. That will be negotiated in another contract probably direct negotiation...
  18. Just in time for LIMA next year.
  19. Assembling aircraft engines is not the same as assembling laptops, ipads, iphones or galaxies. It's way up there on top of value chain. Singapore moved long time ago when they realised they can't compete with Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and China. So the only way to move forward is to focus and approve high tech assemblies that require specific skills. I believe Penang is moving in the same direction too albeit too late. Indonesia Vietnam and China have the correct numbers to keep costs low. Malaysian government should be proactive in this regard. Stop overflowing of foreign workers for factories. We dont want to assemble Barbie dolls and remote control car anymore. Encourage local SMEs to innovate and to focus on value building than volume chasing.
  20. Isn't Global Upline the main contractors for airport projects in Borneo? The reborn Ekran who screw the plaza rakyat and Bakun dam?
