I see that Tioman has made it into the list.

I was chatting to a MAS manager who is involved with the route. The loads on the NYK sector were not great however the STO sector were good. The issue was yields and the cost of operating a station at STO for a limited schedule flight was too great. In addition the 777 which was to be used on the route was moved to be used on the LAX service.

I agree with the comments. A few weeks ago I took them one way SIN-CGK and managed get a good one way fare. The flight even included a hot meal and compared to MAS it was very tasty.

Sorry not been on line much. The people on board were told that the emerrgency was due to an "air conditioning" issue. It happened but perhaps wasnt an emergency.

The MAS 734 used to do there. So what is the min take off distance when MTOW for a 734? Did AK ever go there?

Just had an SMS from a friend who took AK5342 LGK-SIN today. It seems the plane took a nosedive and has made an emergency landing at KUL. They are off the plane and awaiting info. How to find out more detailed info?

This morning I came back to KL on MI332 from SIN. After takeoff I noticed a queue of attractive ladies waiting to use to the toilet at the back of the A319. After a few minutes 2 of the ladies came out in full SQ cabin crew uniform. The rest of the people also changed into the uniform. It caused a few looks owing to the stark difference to MI’s uniforms as well as the number of them. The moved to the front of the Y cabin and remained as pax. At KLIA I noticed them heading to a SQ 777 at C3 which was showing as SQ117D to SIN and the crew were rushed towards the aircraft. From looking at the Changi website it seems like SQ117 was delayed overnight and left at 09:00 which is quite a delay. I wonder what the problem was?

The problem is that flight stats usually shows the outbound flight as on time, even for a ex KUL SQ flight which is seriously delayed inbound. I somethmes that that the small delays dont get reported becuase people will complain.

If I'm taking an SQ flight from KUL I log into flightstats.com and see if the incoming flight is on time. Can't really do that at KUL for MAS though.

How are the departure gates at KLIA allocated and who controls the information at the gates? I’m at KLIA now and noticed that MH4 to LHR is departing from H2. I can see plently of space at the satellite terminal so how come the 744 is parked at the MT? Regarding the screens, often I find that the delays are not reflected on the screens at the gate and the staff shrug their shouler and say that don’t know who updates them. Being a regular Singapore-KL traveler I often flight SQ/MI and I find that SQ usually stick up a piece of paper informing people of the delay. Not much use if you rush from a lounge or restaurant to find the flight delayed.

I've been reading that the runway at Redang has just been extended. I dont have any further details. Maybe it will be able to take the new aircraft?

So where will they use the new aircraft?

Why would they buy these if they cant operate at these two airports. Any idea on the min landing/take off distance on a full load?

Are they really banned for being too slow? I've seen them land at LHR before. Come on KL has two runways and half the number of flights that LHR has.

I agree! I'm going back to the UK for a holiday in May and managed to get a SIN-LHR return with SQ for SGD 2400 for 2 persons. That works out at about RM2800 each.

I thought the belt speeds can reach 60 km/h? maybe its just in other airports

Yes they are. The 744 flight no doesnt run on every day. This was announced a month or so ago.

Why did you have to haggle? Did they try and claim the flight wasn't delayed?
