  1. How do you get away with very few clothes and no toiletries?
  2. Flee - I always do especially as I'm rather price sensitive at the moment LOL
  3. So today Air Asia announced another promotion but they also had some other news they chose not to share. The dreaded fees that we all love so much have increased by quite a high % amount. A sample of the increases on a KUL-BKK sector is: Hot Seat: RM25 to RM30 = 20% rise Convenience Fee RM6 to RM8 = RM33% rise Supersize Regular - International (up to 15kg) RM 30 to RM 35 = 17% rise Supersize Medium - International (up to 20kg) RM 35 to RM 40 = 14% rise I'm sure that there are many more increases but I haven't got the information to make the comparison. I really don't like the way they try and bury the bad news.
  4. Yesterday (16/02) I travelled back to SIN on the 14:40 TR flight and whilst waiting for the take off roll to begin I noticed this aircraft which appeared to belong to the Japan Coast Guard. Any idea what it was doing here?
  5. I came across these vids on youtube taken from the flightdesk of a A380 and thought that I’d share them. Sorry if they have already been posted or you have seen them before Overtaking a MH 777 – pretty clear in HD mode and my personal fav http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lf_23G9jA-U&feature=channel A380 head on pass with an MH 747 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aach6AQ-FrE A380 TCAS traffic 1000ft above passing AirasiaX A330 head on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aach6AQ-FrE A380 Picture Perfect Storm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOX8BT3rAoA
  6. I like both of them and the SQ film has some great editing Wonder if MH will come out with something?
  7. Just seen this on Business traveller http://asia.business...ic/news/jetstar,-valuair-and-qantas-extends-codeshare-a Jetstar Group and Qantas to extend codeshare pact Published: 01/02/2011 - Jetstar Group and Qantas is expanding their codeshare agreement to cover 11 routes originating from both companies' Singapore hub at Changi International Airport. Jetstar Group's airline brands - Jetstar Asia and Valuair - will carry Qantas flight numbers on their flights to Jakarta, Auckland, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Osaka (via Taipei), Denpasar, Penang, Ho Chi Minh City, Phuket, Hong Kong and Taipei. Tickets for the codeshare routes will be on sale from March 1 and will be valid for travel from April 1, 2011. The partnership will also apply on Jetstar Asia's new daily Singapore-Auckland which will be launched on March 17, using an Airbus A330. For Qantas customers, these new codeshare flights with Jetstar Asia and ValuAir give them wider travel options from Changi airport. As part of the agreement, Qantas customers on these codeshare flights will also receive a seamless booking and ticketing experience, with full baggage connectivity, standard Qantas baggage allowance as well as complimentary meals.
  8. Nice pic Capt Radzi, did you take this through the window or open up your window for the pic?
  9. Re: asian LCC - I can accept most of whats of offer from AK, TR, 3K etc these days but I pray that thaey dont go to the extremes that Ryan Air do.
  10. I remember when I first found out about how to view GDS info etc and spents hours reading flyertalk to learn about it. Over the past few years there have been many free tools come and go which is a shame. I've used KVS and its a good tool and was especially useful years back when I used to travel LHR-KUL on VS C class tickets and needed to change my flight. If I remember correctly VS only had 7 or 8 business class seats on the plane so it was often a challenge to get a seat. Other tools to look at are expert flyer and if its just availabiliy info you want then flightstats is free.
  11. Ok will try and use them soon to test
  12. Im talking about 3k. If you are taling about JQ then it must be different
  13. So how come Ive seen the seats empty on several flights. Maybe the crew are not following SOP ?
  14. As a regular user of such seats I have seen the following in recent times: AK - will not let people move there unless they have a ticket for a hot seat. Often I'm the only persion sitting in those rows at seat 12a. 3K - have been told off for moving and ordered to move out unless I buy the ticket. I tried the safety argument and was put down. Note that these seats on 3K are almost upright and not comfortable. TR - Seems to be 50-50 as to whether people are allowed to move once the door is closed
  15. Just watched this on the BBC website about the competion between Gulf airlines and EU / US / CA airlines. http://news.bbc.co.u...ack/9349970.stm My thoughts are that competion is good and the point they make about the best equipment being used on routes where there is strong competion and other routes getting older aircraft seems quite normal or maybe im just used the MAS situation with a different regional product.
  16. I think you are right about relying on Bernama. Looks lke everybody had a lucky escape
  17. Hence my thoughts on why it took 12-14 hrs for the media to pick it up.
  18. The media are very slow today. The Quantas A380 incident was on the news within minutes
  19. Is it me or are the media ignoring this? Its looks pretty bad to me with front uc gone or sunk into the ground
  20. And if the only way to do that is to expand and increase the freq then it will hit MH.
  21. Somebody posted this on FB which I belive to be correct. Also I came across this: http://avherald.com/h?article=4360264d&opt=0
