  1. There is no need to print the boarding pass after web check-in. Just proceed to the web check-in counter and they will issue you a proper boarding pass. Precisely. So is MI's website compared to SQ's. By the way, I encounter the "original fare was no longer available" bug quite frequently. At the page of flight date selection, I am quoted a certain fare. However, after clicking "continue", another fare (often higher) will be quoted for me, with an error of "original fare was no longer available please check new price".
  2. Not possible, unless D7 returns the candy (HND slots) to the baby (MH).
  3. The Juneyao aircraft is an A320. Believe 2.9 tons of fuel on the A320 can last longer than 5 tons on a 77W.
  4. Precisely. While I am ok with the usage of airstairs, aerobridges should be provided whenever it rains -- for pax comfort. Also, TF says airstairs are used for faster turnarounds and whatnots.. I do not buy this -- I reckon it's just to make himself and the airline looks good.
  5. To cater for growth of HKG beyond 2020, third runway is a must. I reckon it is cheaper to reclaim land and build the third runway now rather than to build it only when the existing two runways are operating near their capacities.
  6. Congrats to MH! QF sponsors MH for the membership of oneworld, but JQ has some sort of cooperation with AK. Interesting...
  7. MH's load factor for KUL-MEL and KUL-PER routes indeed increased after D7 started plying these routes, but are they really making more money? In other words, is the increase of MH's load factor due to higher passenger awareness of these 2 routes, hence more people are flying KUL-MEL & KUL-PER vv? Or the increase of load factor is simply due to lower fares from MH (due to competition from D7), and MH is actually making less money despite the higher load factor? I suspect it's the latter, hence the protection of SYD.
  8. MH can refurbish their 772ER J and Y class cabins for product consistencies with their A380.
  9. I flew AK5803 (PEN-SIN, departure time 1200) several times in January and March, and I noticed the aircrafts flying that sector were always towed to the gate before departure. When I boarded the aircraft, the cabin was always "fresh", i.e, no garbage in seat pockets, seatbelts were nicely placed on seats in the shape of an "X", etc. Is the aircraft parked at PEN and only starts its day in the afternoon?
  10. Exactly. I guess it's easier for them to setup a new airline in SIN than to get new routes approved for D7. I recall there is a massive D7 frequency reshuffling from October 2011. Are they going to base some of their A330s at SIN? So I suppose we can rule out A330 (A332 & A333) and A350? Perhaps A340 too since it's a fuel guzzler. The remaining options would be the A320 family and A380. How about A380 with GP7000 engines? Or A321neo with CFM LEAP-X?

  12. Looks like my hypothesis is incorrect then. I am helping my sister to maintain her Enrich account, and she is not a Get-the-Deal member, hence she did not receive the email. I login her profile using the login link in the email, and she got the 2000 miles 10 seconds after I updated her profile.
  13. This is correct. Login using the usual Enrich login page and you will not be able to get the 2000 miles. I believe the email was only sent to Enrich members who'd also signed up Get-the-Deal. Typical Enrich members without the Get-the-Deal membership will not be getting the email. In fact, the subject of the email is "Make way for an enriching surprise as Get-the-Deal turns 3‏". However, any Enrich member, with or without Get-the-Deal membership, will be able to get the 2000 bonus miles if they login and update his profile using the link provided in the email.
  14. Thanks for the photos Azizul. A far cry from the First Class counter you used one and a half year ago huh. Nice renovation, and a long overdue one.
  15. Which is exactly why they cannot do well in the first place.

  17. Thank you Azizul for your effort in analysing and sharing the statistics with us.
  18. JCL PTV looks like a little bit small. No cupholders for YCL. Nevertheless, a huge improvement over the current A332/A333 cabin in both classes. Nothing revolutionary, but I am pretty impressed.

  20. There are 2 possibilities: 1) MH is adopting the wait-and-see strategy. MH needs some time to get some data of how much passengers are transferring from MH to FY for KUL-KCH and KUL-BKI vv, then only they will reduce frequency accordingly. 2) MH is hoping that FY 734/738 passengers will be 100% of those transferring from AK, hence AK will be the one reducing frequency, not MH. If option 2 is indeed the case, good luck to MH then.
