  1. According to the Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act 1963, MAS should be prosecuted for they way national flag is displayed. https://www.malaysia.gov.my/portal/content/138
  2. If petronas is sanctioned by the u.s, most if not all international bank and mnc will not conduct business with it.
  3. For domestic sector, there shouldn't need regulatory approval. the more regulatory, the more corruption and the higher cost.
  4. No wonder LH 350 was at satellite remote bay at about 20:20hr just now.
  5. This route is mainly cater for Korean escaping freezing winter.
  6. Mavcom was created for ex-politicians and cronies to draw fat salaries.
  7. Like many businesses, airlines benefit from economies of scale and the 'real money' is not in operating profit but stock market.
  8. Aerotrain is a scaled down lrt or mrt train set. Technology and suppliers are well established. Noise in airside is almost irrelevant to environment.
  9. Due to low disposable income, most people in this country choose price over quality except luxury or show off items.
  10. Shuttle bus between MTB and satellite terminal leave in pairs. It seems the first bus is reserved for airport staffs and often half full while the second bus is packed with pax.
  11. Given the background of controlling shareholders; their business model is unusual, don't have resources to raise funds from institutions and conventionally.
  12. Many under estimated hurdle, magnitude and duration of negative cashflow before the operation cashflow is positive. Fundraising is very limited in this industry and in this country. Controlling shareholders need ocean deep pocket to sustain.
  13. Likewise, mas was losing about rm 800m per year for decades and was supported by sugar daddy.
  14. Visited mh lounge at kul recently, foods offering is significantly better than before.
  15. Board appointed consultant is awared of the management incompetency; whether action will be taken against these few or the top management will rectify e.g transfer is different matter.
  16. According to rumour mill; the board appointed third party to investigate the management, reached out to lower management level, etc.
  17. MH business model until recently was defying gravity and conventional business practice. From recent brahim fiasco, there are still many incompetent management at the top.
  18. Mas is hopeful to restore hot meals service to all routes by November. It seems the board is interfering in operation.
  19. Most visitors to plaza premium lounge at kul are credit card holders travelling in ey, have low expectations. A reason why they have plaza premium first for airlines.
  20. As over 50% of foodstuffs and necessities are imported, devalued RM will fuel inflation rate. Until BNM increase bank interest rate, could expect RM to devalue further. Turkish Lira devalued substantially in the last few years and yet Erdogan got reelected. As Erdogan is PMX's buddy, PMX is likely to follow Erdogan's populist policy. From the number of ME3 and Turkish flights serving KUL show, pax demand from KUL to EU and UK is fairly substantial. Tourism ministry in previous BN/PN administration were more interested to siphoning and travel than promoting the industry.
  21. Alcohol in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines, etc is cheaper than Langkawi, Tioman and Labuan. For tourists to return visit, they look at the total package/experience, value for money, etc.
  22. When umno was all powerful, mas catering was carved out to enrich then dpm's family. RM230m debts in 2003 was largely bank loan from construction of klia facility. Brahim bought mas catering with leverage, hence, profit guaranteed clause. Brahim management and cost structure was based on profit guaranteed business model, couldn't and wouldn't adapt to post 2015 reality. Some convenience shops approached Brahim for contract production; citing "pricing protocol" their quoted price was substantially higher than competitors, bluntly turned down new business. If SATS couldn't turn around Brahim, no one else could. For this catering facility to be profitable again, need to remove top 3 layers of management. Their objective and thinking is in a different planet; for reasons why most of these companies failed in the long term.
  23. As a business entity, mag catering should be glad to continue supplying to other airlines. Given how brahim was setup, the controlling shareholders is unlikely to let go without full settlement of outstanding bank loan.
  24. Airside catering truck is a critical path of supply chain and expect 20 units delivery within 6 months is too optimistic. RM 190m is likely outstanding bank loan of controlling shareholders.
