AirAsia Group/AirAsia X Group Service Changes
Kee Hooi Yen replied to Naim's topic in General Aviation
I believe the market is predominantly transiting pax, especially from Australia. O&D demand may not as strong. What's next ? Perhaps SXM ? That will be nice ! -
The first WB I have ever seen was a CX L-1011 tristar in SZB back in the 70s....

JQ is having promotion today for flights from major Australia cities to DPS, return for as low as AUD121. Not sure if this is JQ's response to the launching of AirAsia X's DPS-MEL

MAS B772 Fleet Decommissioned on 27 January 2016
Kee Hooi Yen replied to alberttky's topic in General Aviation
Vast majority of pax (not just aviation enthusiats) not even know what seat pitch is and how the airlines they are flying with configure their seats. Even if they do, the seating configurations will always come after the price. For those who are not price sensitive, apart from the flight schedules, branding plays an important role. In today's aviation environment, people will look at IFE, meals and service first before seat configurations. In my opinion, for MAS to reduce the seat pitch from 34" to 32" would not damage its "branding". It is a good way to generate more revenue without spending too much. Just my 2 cents -

Yes, definately you and me will avoid that. But for the vast majority of the pax, I believe the reduction in seat pitch for 2-3" (from the current 34") won't be known to them. They don't even know or aware they are "enjoying" the generous 34" seat pitch right now. -

General public don't care about seat pitch and seat width, especially for Y pax. What they care is the price, schedule, IFE, meal and maybe service. -
