  1. Low cost airline bussiness model is still not suitable for long haul ?
  2. I believe the market is predominantly transiting pax, especially from Australia. O&D demand may not as strong. What's next ? Perhaps SXM ? That will be nice !
  3. The first WB I have ever seen was a CX L-1011 tristar in SZB back in the 70s....
  4. JQ is having promotion today for flights from major Australia cities to DPS, return for as low as AUD121. Not sure if this is JQ's response to the launching of AirAsia X's DPS-MEL
  5. Turnaround at MEL on days 357 is 15 mins ?
  6. I did SZB-RDN 3 years ago I remember it was like RM300 return
  7. Is a pax transitting thru' an airport considered as two in the pax counts ?
  8. Guess his taxi fare from MEL to AVV must be more expensive than his AVV-SYD air ticket
  9. Hope to enter the lounge with vouchers ....
  10. Is it possible to enter MAS Domestic Lounge at KLIA airside with D7 boarding pass while transiting at KLIA2 ?
  11. From the news, the state government considers the shortfall in passengers will be borne by the state government !? So it is a business that the profit is guaranteed ?
  12. True. I cant tell the difference without having the two variants together
  13. Air New Zealand's 1st B789, operating as NZ103 AKL-SYD Air India B788 operating as AI301 SYD-DEL Jetstar B788 operating as JQ18 from HKT / MEL CX Cargo B748 NZ104 SYD-AKL US Secretary of State John Kerry is in town US Air Force E-4B (B742)
  14. Correct me if I am wrong, I think in the early 2000 the restriction to turboprop only in SZB was used as a tool to block AK from operating in SZB after MH has moved to KLIA
  15. The plane suits Air Asia X well particular for its bases in Bangkok and Denpasar, aiming leisure traveller from Europe.
  16. Congratulations to Air Asia X. So this order is on top of their current A330 orders or some are conversions ?
  17. How likely will MH order the A330NEO for B772 replacement ? Has it got the range that MH wants ?
  18. Perhaps it will be faster for RB to transfer the stranded pax back to BWN from BKI via land
  19. The article says police conducts breathalyse on both pilots, but how about the guy who manned the push back truck ? When a plane is being pushed back, what can a pilot do ?
  20. Vast majority of pax (not just aviation enthusiats) not even know what seat pitch is and how the airlines they are flying with configure their seats. Even if they do, the seating configurations will always come after the price. For those who are not price sensitive, apart from the flight schedules, branding plays an important role. In today's aviation environment, people will look at IFE, meals and service first before seat configurations. In my opinion, for MAS to reduce the seat pitch from 34" to 32" would not damage its "branding". It is a good way to generate more revenue without spending too much. Just my 2 cents
  21. Yes, definately you and me will avoid that. But for the vast majority of the pax, I believe the reduction in seat pitch for 2-3" (from the current 34") won't be known to them. They don't even know or aware they are "enjoying" the generous 34" seat pitch right now.
  22. General public don't care about seat pitch and seat width, especially for Y pax. What they care is the price, schedule, IFE, meal and maybe service.
  23. Luckily none of 'Simpang Empat's or 'Simpang Ampat's in Malaysia are big towns that served by schedule commercial flights
