  1. When this share swap thing first came about, a lot of people were skeptical and not in favour of it. So in order to win trust and support, they need to produce results. But result's lacking. So people are getting even more skeptical and dislike the whole thing.
  2. Will be interesting to see how this unravel.. So guess TF will leave MH.. What about his men now in many top management positions? They already know a lot of MH's confidential business info by now. MH will need a strong leader and team to fight all odds foreign and within.
  3. The last quarter they included one large once off loss.. So hope the numbers will look better this time around. But honestly, the new management is also very disappointing. I have yet to see any meaningful improvements. Having said that keep on changing the management will not be good either, so I think they should be given a bit more time. Maybe see the their financial result this quarter and decide.
  4. I don't agree with this MAS-Air Asia collaboration thing and I also think it's one sided. But since it's done already, I'm willing to give the benefit of a doubt but they need to produce results fast.
  5. They already do this to domestic routes for awhile.. I was caught off guard last time. Got 3 bags but could only check in one. Luckily not too big and could still hand carry onboard.. They don't limit hand carry bags though..
  6. MH must have been getting some rave feedbacks with no babies first class.. Now they want to introduce it to economy. I like the idea.
  7. The short haul premium airline does not make much sense. MH is already supposed to be premium, why create another premium airline? Just improve on existing products. I'm still hoping that they will increase the legroom of their sky interior 737.

  9. Ya. Qantas gives people the impression that they are not a very faithful bed partner, or very desperate for a bed partner
  10. The impression I get, those GLC staff, especially high up, live a life of indulgence and opulence.. I am sure they will come out with something that will put the likes of Emirates to shame if given half a chance. At the end of the day, the management has to be responsible.
  11. Perhaps a fat guy wearing cap and his associates? Don't have any supporting evidence except they vowed to review the seats when they came in. Maybe also removed the premium economy seats along the way.
  12. Let me get this right. D7 sold seats for several long haul destinations that now has to be cancelled as they are not making money. Those passengers are transferred to MH flights with D7 only paying for airpor tax/fuel, but keeping the rest of the money. If that's true, screw D7. They are the worst bunch!
  13. MH has reasonably good products and quality that can be further improved on. I just flew with Emirates Australia to South America return trip, thanks to MH for cancelling flights to Buenos Aires.. Emirates has an amazing network and frequency. The hardware at the front end of the planes were impressive.. But I flew in cattle class.. and cattle class is cattle class. I flew boeing 777-300ER and 777-200. So comparing with MH 777. IFE: Emirates had much wider and sharper screen. A wide range of movies, though most of them were very old. Headphone better than MH. Food: Not a big fan of in flights meal but more horrible experience with Emirates. Hard inedible bread. Stink smelly fish. Tasteless dry omelette. Drink service: Emirates had significantly less drink rounds. Only 1 or 2 for 19 hours flight. The FAs preferred to gossip in the galley. They sure did gossip very loudly. Seat: Hard thin cushion on Emirates. Their 777-200 on my Perth-Dubai leg had the worst seat comfort ever. They probably put a metal bar on the seat to torture passengers. Narrower seat and bit less leg room on Emirates. MH has foot rest now.. But can't imagine them putting foot rest in economy with poor leg room already. Emirates had warm towel and gave comfort pack which contained sock, toothbrush and eye cover. Also had nicer baggage tag.
  14. About time.. Lack of IFE offerings is one of their sore points. Guess it won't need much hardware modifications, just need to "upload" more movies.
  15. Most never heard of Air Australia.. Not surprising they go broke..
  16. He probably realized that it's not easy to make living as a zoologist.
  17. They cancelled a couple of routes, but also increased frequency to some existing routes.. So guess some in those cancelled route probably won't be needed.. In those routes with increased frequency, they will probably have a bit more work to do.
  18. With all these imports and hiring frenzy, shouldn't they suppose to reduce staff numbers instead?
  19. Tax affects all airlines the same as far as I am aware. So every airlines will have to increase their fare, not just D7. If other factors remain the same, their fare will still be relatively cheaper compare to others. It's not like D7 will have to pay more tax, while other airlines pay less.
  20. The impression I got is that Australian side, Air Asia X was very welcomed to fly to SYD. Only the Malaysian Gov was placing hurdles. So if the Australians die die want Air Asia X to fly there yet didn't offer extra slot, that didn't sound quite right.
  21. One of their grouses is KUL-SYD's lack of growth.. It remains stagnant with MH's twice daily..So I don't see any point in MH giving up one slot so that Air Asia X can have it. They can go in as an extra player, that's fine.

I believe there is still no accountability in MH despite all these share swap, management revamp etc. You can screw up the airline big time by making stupid decisions and still get away with it. So someone decided to get rid of Y+.. From an onlooker's perspective, I think it's a stupid thing to do. But I'm almost certain that someone won't be responsible if MH starts to lose more money as they don't have the right product.
  23. So can we say all the previous talk about economy plus seats now amount to nothing? Quite disappointing.. I won't mind chipping in a bit more for economy plus seats. Share swap anything to do with this?
  24. Look like it.. What a shame.. Thought the route had some potential.. Having said that it would be a torture sitting in those tight seats of MH 737-800
