  1. Guess the issue is more that of whether TF is making a reasonable demand.. Most people don't seem to think so.. I personally would prefer them to move to T1. It will make life more convenient to connect to other airlines for instance.
  2. Don't really see Maswing competing directly with AK in hot routes in the near future, or whether they should.. Maswing is subsidized. I personally feel they should just focus on community service in East Malaysia.
  3. It's probably not part of their KPI to fix their website ASAP.. or maybe they are just incompetent.
  4. He tweets like a clueless CEO.. probably the result of years of emphasis on kulitfication in our GLCs...
  5. AK caters for price conscious customers, some will even scream and rant at a few ringgits difference.. Moving to the T1 will likely mean the same airport tax as their main rival, MH, this will take away some of their advantage.. So in that sense, it will not benefit them to move.
  6. Hardly any Australians know about Kuching.. If they go ahead, they will plenty of stamina to sustain the flight..
  7. Their nip and tuck turn out to be a major process of disfigurement. And they choose this CNY holiday time to show the world what such fool they are.. Bet after all these hassles, it will just be some superficial cosmetic changes with no real improvement..
  8. They are so inconsistent. No wonder they are losing customers.
  9. Guess there isn't much security screening to reach the arrival hall..
  10. Malaysia is not at war, so most of the stuff we discuss here is academic.. In the event of war, they will be used for troop deployment, transport, evac and for providing supplies.. For these roles, they are quite dated technology. In times of peace like now, use to try to impress people during parade, mercy mission, VIP and etc. Can la.. depending on who the enemy is and provided no one stole away the engines, our air force can probably last longer than a day.. BTW Sukhoi around?? The gov spent a fortune on them including a value-added trip to space for our angkasawan..
  11. Well, in today's battlefield where speed and surprise are key elements, the Nuri helicopters have very limited roles. They are noisy, slow and perhaps not so maneuverable to their modern day's equivalent. They can be easily shot down in combat. Guess they can still do behind the scenes duties far away from enemy's fire.
  12. Sometime last year, they talked about replacing the Nuri and even shortlisted a couple of helicopters.. No news now.. There is an army base in my hometown, once awhile can see those Nuri coming in. They are quite dated, very noisy you can hear them from kilometers away, appear clumsy and slow. Anyway, whatever helicopters they buy, better don't lose the engines..
  13. Cities in the eastern states are not ridiculously far from each other.. Could have high speed rail or something like Japan or China, but the gov seems to think it's not viable, so guess we will never see it. If they don't build it when their economy is at their strongest, they will never build it.. Perth is different la, it's isolated at one end... but interestingly people like to use it as an example as if all major cities in Australia are like 4 hours something apart from each other.. And of course, not comparing with Malaysia. This will make people laugh only. Malaysia is good when compare to Nigeria and etc..
  14. Not too sure about the doctor part..
  15. Partly because transportation between major cities in Australia is still in its dark ages.. So most people have to fly, they have a big pool of customers.
  16. You guys have very keen eyesight.. I can't see anything much revealing.
  17. How come they can't have Firefly Indonesia when there is already Air Asia Indonesia..
  18. I always thought Labu was a way for certain people to make lots of money.. Remember it was already approved behind doors. But when it was revealed, the public made a huge outcry, so the then PM had to retract the plan or face a public backlash (He was booted out of office anyway). The plan for new LCCT near KLIA was hastily brought up but TF didn't like it at first, soil not good and what, aircraft might get stuck in mud, lots of excuses la. The plan went ahead anyway cause the public didn't want Labu but someone has to make lots of money. So the cost keep going up and up to the extent it's no longer fit to be called LCCT, it's now called KLIA 2, a whole new airport with its own runway.
  19. With extra perks included, one can argue that Firefly's offering is as good as MH if not better in those domestic routes. Agree MH needs to be explicit which flight is operated by which airlines. Looking forward to the days when one can earn some enrich points flying Firefly.
  20. TF is usually very vocal and likes to pour cold water onto his rivals. I'm bit surprised he is quite gentle with Firefly.
  21. Well, have to respect other people's hobby.. Anyway, 30 mins connecting time sounds too short.
  22. Other things aside, their "Brand new fleet" advertisement is a bit misleading. Naturally, it conjures up images of brand new plane or something at least relatively new. Thought they should reserve it to when they eventually order their own planes.
  23. Brand new fleet, brand new offerings but rather old plane..
