  1. let's see how US dealing with it. My personal opinion is China claimed too much territory over South China sea, and it could be troublesome for countries within the region e.g our country.
  2. i work in FIZ and some day i heard a short noise which similiar to fighter jet but it's significantly less noisy compare to fighter jet, nothing shown on FR24 either.
  3. NOTAM for butterworth airbase. sounds like something going on at tanjong tokong. check the coordinate in google maps, the seaside behind marina bay. A4303/15 - UAV ACT WILL TAKE PLACE WI 3NM RADIUS OF 05 26.656N 100 18.605E (TANJUNG TOKONG, PULAU PINANG). GND - 1000FT AGL, DLY 2330 - 1130, 15 DEC 23:30 2015 UNTIL 18 DEC 11:30 2015. CREATED: 15 DEC 13:05 2015
  4. haha... indeed i misunderstood it. then let them be operate for hajj ops then
  5. haha... i just simply assuming.... i thought it was longer, now i know it's 2 months max. meaning the whales are spending 10 months of good time in the hangar or sunbathing if it's not deployed elsewhere once the hajj mission is complete for them.
  6. i wonder when Malindo or Firefly gonna order high density ATR72, it can fit in 78 seats. but at the expense of 28inch seat pitch. if it's short haul it should be less of a concern.
  7. thanks for the explanation bro. i learned new things. so, it's gonna be like 6 months of idle time for the A380 when they off their duty, perhaps that is the best time to deploy it elsewhere. My personal opinion is launching those A380 for some heavy domestic/regional travel to airport that is A380 ready, i know it sounds stupid from ops perspective but take it as a marketing or promotion work for MAB to showcase their flagship to local audience it shouldn't be too bad of an idea. Who knows you may garner some potential customer from that.
  8. sorry that i have to ask, i believe hajj charter is a seasonal ops i.e limited to hajj season?
  9. so A330 is the widebody that Chanda tries to disclose all the while....
  10. swap the packed A330 routes to A380 ops intermittently. Make sure the airport is A380 friendly. else A380s are sitting duck there makes no sense.
  11. B787? did lion secure any orders for it? judging by Lion Air and Malindo ops model, not surprise to have B787 though
  12. must be a way beyond restore item, from reg it belongs to Air Atlanta Icelandic
  13. kinda sad to see those A343s gone, they simply not efficient to compete with new tech aircrafts. just wondering why airbus wasn't developing better engine technology for their A340 family series, at least it serve to be a filler aircraft rather than letting the family gone with the wind.this aircraft looks nice honestly.
  14. surely some money goes to somewhere as it is typical malaysian style, but RAS is a need for people in Borneo area. the positive effect of the economy and development surely there.
  15. the end of an era for MAS B777 fleet, i kinda like it as the seat pitch is the biggest among all the aircraft in MAB fleet. But too bad, aging bird and tough competition by regional peers just killed them off.
  16. more 737s! c'mon they should go for 737max then. and get more A333s to ply the regional flights as well. guess their A359 gonna plying long haul to LHR. but still kinda sad to see they let go of the A388s.
  17. MTB reaching full capacity... something new. and the most surprising thing is KLIA2 reaching its full. A well planned project, you build an airport and that airport get to its full cap in a short while, either the airliners are expanded super aggressively, or you sucks in planning.
  18. share what you believe that is not breaking the professional integrity will do.
  19. I do have impression that malaysia airport is quite conservative or i would say more safety oriented. True, agree. but if the prop is meant to provide connectivity from 2nd tier airport to KUL then it do make some sense. you don't need a jet ops from IPH to KUL for connection purpose do you? KUL masterplan is 4 runways.... even KLIA 2 open they still insist for 2 runway ops, well, still can cope i believe. KUL runway haven't reach it's cap yet. Still some distance away from being max cap.
  20. i ain't looking down on KLIA, i'm looking down on the reason given to ban props from KUL with the reason "too slow", simply like those ministers that ask us to wake up in the morning to use alternative route to avoid toll charges. In fact KLIA is a mega project that we only see only like 30-40% of the total plan nowadays. Of course SZB should be develop as it can still serve it's economy value. I'm interested on Seletar airport re-open as props hub though, whether all prop ops will shift from Changi like what we implement here KUL vs SZB.
  21. "kudos" to Malaysia. you can ban turboprops from KUL where else Changi able to handle props (though they might move it to Seletar in the future), i personally don't think that KUL traffic is way busier than Changi. It shows how efficient our people vs our neighbour country.
  22. frankly, though air asia is not that good per ur experience, you never seen the worst, i remember i flying PG Guangzhou using China Southern, their FA service level is way below par. Air Asia ia way better than them.
  23. i believe FY wouldn't operate from KUL if using their props, not sure KUL doesn't welcome prop ops, or what, i doesn't seems like seeing props in and out KUL. if FY to take MH's jet ops, that would be good as they can deploy their resources better. Just wonder why they not executing it until now. this plan seems like lingering for some time around ever since post Idris Jala era.
