Dear Tony, Your friend is not wrong and you are not wrong. AK is the problem (sorry if hurt anybody here). Area 2 and 3 (SEA) in on weight system (IATA rule)...not sure if AK follows. Area 1 (North and South America) is piece system. What your friend said (1piece=20KG), apply to some station in SEA (where AK flies to). This happen in HKG. I checked with my AK friend, replied is based on the station how they want it. So is all depend on your luck-la.

Yes, bge can chk thru to RUH. Let the chk in staff have your ticket KUL-CMB and CMB-RUH. After chk in, double check the flight nbr, date and destination. (for you own good). My personal advice - take a photo of your chk in bge with the bge tag.

A word of advice if you got your cheap cheap fare with AK and travel in 10months time. 1. Don't buy the meals 2. Don't buy baggage allowance because you can modify the record a week before departure ^^ So, why let AK have all your $$ 10months before departure. That is what I learn from experience.

Let us know between what airline and what airline.... and departure airport - transit airport (if avail) - destination Example 1: KUL-MH-BKI-AK-SDK....no bge chk thru ya. Example 2: KUL-MH-SIN-SQ-MEL ....bge can chk thru. p/s: example given is same day connection.
