  1. The consensus here pretty much rules AMS out from seeing MH A380, especially since it has been downgraded to 777.
  2. If he wants to keep IT in the air then he may have to fork out his own money to bail it out. The question is: will/can he?
  3. OT: Just curious, how did management keep Hibiscus (largely) obscure until the last moment? Probably they'll do the same for the A380.
  4. Apparently so. These photos show 9M-FFC before... http://www.airliners.net/photo/Firefly/Boeing-737-86N/1984028/M/ ...and after http://www.airliners.net/photo/Malaysia-Airlines/Boeing-737-86N/2034683/M/ Both photos by Waiping. BTW seems it's also the case for -FFB, and -FFD, not sure about the others.
  5. Considering the 777s are staying for a while longer, it's definitely worth it.
  6. Not sure if 744s are leaving soon (a year or two?), but if the IFE improvement involves significant hardware modifications then it might not make much sense upping the offering on 744. And speaking of hardware improvements it's time for 772s to get new offerings, especially on Y class.
  7. Why would American Airlines be interested into operating AU market?? Nonetheless it was another sad day for the aviation industry.
  8. New branding as in new livery only or the wau bulan will be altered as well?
  9. Back when the first 747 flew its first fare-paying passenger it'd be in MSA's colours. Just sayin'
  10. Flightglobal Not a good start of the year for OW...
  11. Are the new frequencies courtesy of MH's HND cancellation?
  12. 7 hours!? What happened? Back to topic, since it apparently happened after meal service, could his behaviour be traced back to that meal? A glass of wine too much perhaps?
  13. It must be particularly hard for the airline's employees to lose their jobs as Spain reached 15-year high unemployment rate. Plus seems *A has lost a member and may be losing another two.
  14. Just went to KBR earlier and saw the a/c parking alongside with AK. Anyone has any info regarding its presence? From A.net it used to be operated by Rak Airways and has since been operating for Eastern Sky Jets, a charter airline.
  15. It'd be pretty embarassing if that happens. They have fought for SYD for too long and too hard to give it up that easily, and giving it up would send the message "we thought we could make it work but we were wrong".
  16. Maybe SRB can trade the red uniform for kebaya on MH's 1st A380 flight to LHR
  17. We have a proverb: 留得青山在,不怕没柴烧, roughly meaning as long as you are alive, there is hope. Maybe that's the difference.
  18. Pretty much every rumour in Malaysia eventually turns out to be true
  19. I don't know how much MH's FO gets paid, but if one does not manage their finances properly, they'll run into financial problem sooner or later however high they get paid.
  20. What's the definition of Kangaroo Route? Are we referring to the KUL-Aus/NZ routes or EU-KUL-Aus/NZ routes? If it's the latter, only the sucker of suckers would exchange for a few flights to LGW and ORY and give up LHR, CDG, AMS, FRA, PER, MEL, SYD, ADL and AKL, some of which are daily...
  21. It's not like MH didn't try to join ST; the haughty AF was preventing it from happening in the first place. 787/A350s are more appropriate for MH to operate such long-and-thin routes.
  22. Whoever they hire will be meaningless if the new management cannot be rid of the interfering hands from certain parties Hope they be left alone to do what they do best.
