  1. Either that, or it's yet another flip-flop we've seen.
  2. It could be highly controversial if there's a clause that mandates them to switch fuel provider from their current one to Petron. Even if there isn't one, the fact Petron is controlled by some politician's family is controversial enough. I for one think Petron should just provide free fuel for all of MH's planes for the next few years without any further obligations if they are sincere about this whole free fuel stunt.
  3. They got rid of the cheerleaders in order to operate JED charter?
  4. Neither are those J and Y seats- they look like SQ's.
  5. Probably oneworld livery if its delivery coincides with MH's official entry to OW.
  6. I am curious where they will conduct border control in KBR, especially for outbound pax. There doesn't seem to have enough space for that.
  7. If they decide the plane too large for the route and keep sending old cabin aircraft then they are gonna miss out kangaroo route big time
  8. According to withdrawal thread here they won't be here for much longer.
  9. While it's good for MH to codeshare to BOS, JFK, ORD and domestic Japan route, it seems kinda weird to codeshare to TPE and HKG. Or are those for connectivity to MH NRT-LAX?
  10. At this rate every state will have their own airlines... Sliverfly anyone?
  11. Maybe they should've brushed up their geography knowledge a bit...
  12. Not-so-minor nitpick: They're using new corporate branding with old logo...
  13. Something like this? That'd be new A330s. http://www.airliners.net/photo/Malaysia-Airlines/Airbus-A330-323X/2056767/L/
  14. Wanna bet how long MKD will last while with Shaheen? Nevertheless quite a big jump from the 737s they currently have.
  15. Apparently AP-BJN (ex-9M-MQC and N829AR) got involved in a landing accident and the end result was not good... More info and photos can be found at http://avherald.com/...=44e6328b&opt=0 and http://www.airliners...d.main/5446050/.
  16. Did Malays consume beer back then?
  17. That explains why the A380 rolled out sans strips, but that doesn't explain why they couldn't apply the full livery back in XFW.
  18. Seems kinda awkward to have codeshare on the same route with two airlines which are rivaling each other, just like if BA were to announce codeshare on LHR-LAX with AA, UA and DL at the same time.
  19. That one-way fare £155 back then (I'm assuming the ad was pre-1975 since it featured a 707) is now £1,272.55 in today's money and that's about the return fare nowadays... 20. I believe they intended to mean they are in no hurry to repaint those in existing liveries. That said I'd like to see how the three 737s MH to receive next will look in this livery.
  21. I wouldn't be sure about the part about Golden Club Class - their website calls it simply as Business Class these days.
  22. MH's 4th A380 has been spotted with all-blue wau logo tail: http://m.flickr.com/#/photos/aircrafts/6955857515/ Discussions on A.net: http://www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/general_aviation/read.main/5407022/
  23. Publicly advising a national carrier to learn from SQ is akin to acknowledging that SQ is superior, and few local politicians want to admit it.
  24. All three A332s currently with MH are ex-Sabenas. They also flew briefly for VG Airlines (later Delsey Airlines) as well: 9M-MKV: OO-SFR 9M-MKW: OO-SFS 9M-MKX: OO-SFQ MH also had two ex-SR A332s which are now with VN: 9M-MKT: HB-IQF, now VN-A370 9M-MKU: HB-IQE, now VN-A369
  25. They should be taking delivery of 5 of them this year and the remaining one next year.
