  1. Of course. It exists in the mind of every consumer. In reality maybe a bit problematic though.
  2. By far (in my experience) the biggest monster maker when it comes to lounge access is loss of face: Scenario: Man in office to his colleague: eh, when we fly, don't worry man, I'll take you to the super VIP ultra luxe lounge. My shiny super ultra platinum deluxe card sure can go no problem. Colleague: wah superb, i can't wait! (excitement and anticipation builds) fast forward to day of travel: Lounge attendant: I'm sorry sir, this card does not give you access here because (insert valid reason here) Man who has just lost face in front of colleague with a selection of words chosen that usually come out: a) I flew with you x times last year, I'm a frequent flyer. You don't respect my loyalty? b ) Do you know who I am? I know your Director of so and so and the VP of this and that. I can have you fired you know? c) I'm a super platinum deluxe ultra VIP (but flying on Air Asia) what do you mean i can't come in here? c2) Variation: I'm a super platinum deluxe ultra VIP. What do you mean I can't bring my dog, wife, uncle, auntie, 17 cousins, 12 cows, 200 goats into the lounge? c3) Variation: What do you mean my card expired in 2007. Check your system now! d) I swear I will never fly you again ! After fist thumping, table banging - he'll walk away... and leave a final parting shot for the hapless lounge attendant to hear: e)So what? inside only some coca cola and curry puff. Who cares lah? No big deal anyway. Come ! (to colleague) we go McD's... better there anyway. If only I had a video camera every single time i've seen this i would have a youtube channel with many viewers. The interesting thing is that I firmly believe that for the most part, these people are ordinary nice folk. Something triggers a huge rash of bad behaviour and it spills out. I wonder what the psychology behind it is. Note: I won't give out specifics but all these happened at a location around 185 miles south of KUL, at the lounge of an airline that is a member of Star Alliance. It's home base is also there.
  3. U-Tapao is nowhere NEAR bangkok. Ridiculous. Gonna have a case of some LCC do a "fly to Bangkok for 1 Baht" promo and pay 3500 baht for the taxi ride to town. Anyone remember Ryanair and "Barcelona" Girona? Same thing la... U-Tapao is to me, a pattaya airport.
  4. Qantas Club is a paid membership and is outside the scope of Oneworld - it allows guests travelling on QF/JQ to access QC's and several other lounges on QF's own network. That's all. MH's Golden lounge is not part of the agreement, and they did the correct thing by denying entry. http://www.qantas.com.au/travel/airlines/qantas-club-lounge-access/global/en#jump1 That will all change July 8 - 3K is moving to KLIA 2, and there will be no more oneworld lounges for aggressive bogans to go banging their fists at.
  5. easy lah bang... select "nearby" - put say 500 miles, select all - then search
  6. are your friends trying to adhere to a budget or is it "as fast as you can get me there no matter how expensive" case ?
  7. As long as no backside pain and no Jaws 1,2,3 I'm happy...
  8. The reality of IFE is less the size of the screen than it is the content itself. If New MH installs 50inch HDtv's in every seat but doesn't pay for the rights, all you'll get to watch is TV3, Ali Baba Bujang Lapok and Jaws 1,2 and 3. As for the seats themselves - they're very comfy, and have A lot of paddig because it's not the slimline kind. If MH wants to increase seat count but keep the kind of pitch that exists now, the only way forward is the skinny type seats. Depending on brand, some can be quite backside pain Careful what you wish for!
  9. I recommend the myteksi app also. Much more honest fellas.
  10. She just took off from SZB as MH5161. Dunno going where. Maybe test flight
  11. Clear now - they updated GDS last night. As mentioned earlier it's a MCT-KUL-SIN-KUL-MCT route. The KUL-SIN leg now moves to night, and SIN-KUL early in the morning - very interesting
  12. Best of all - first is not sold - rows 1/2 assignable for Business class.
  13. Load out last night to KUL was 185 (didn't get the class breakdown), tonight going back it's 214.
  14. edit: I found this: http://www.businesstraveller.com/news/101689/oman-air-to-fly-non-stop-to-kuala-lumpur
  15. ja - you are correct, but the preferred word these days is Leiter
  16. Not nice to call me 'The Terminator', says MAS new CEO Mueller http://www.thestar.com.my/News/Nation/2015/05/28/MAS-Christoph-Mueller/ Oops!
  17. Yeah I would be keen to know too. I'm thinking of buying a KUL-SIN-KUL just to try but GDS is still showing current timings till end of schedule.
  18. wah only 3 requirements! Sadly I'm missing all 3....
  19. From what I read - she was already told sorry you're late - the flight is departed. The AC was still on stand with doors closed awaiting clearance for pushback and startup - and she decided to rush past the folks on duty and demanded the door be opened for her. Lucky they didn't withdraw the Jetbridge yet or else she would have fallen down and cracked her head open on the Tarmac. Yes you can open the door from both sides when on the ground. When the door is armed it just means the slide will deploy. If that had happened - the other pax would have probably killed her on the spot. 😁
  20. I say .. I ask my friend where he got it and see if I can get another link. https://www.facebook.com/SQflyergirl/posts/1849027301988363 This one can ?
