AirAsia Passenger Traffic Up 19.3 Per Cent In First Quater 2011
JuliusWong replied to Zamir's topic in General Aviation
Unfortunately, FY come in at wrong time, when the oil price is shooting across the roof....how will three players survive in one domestic market if all are to cut ticket price? Someone needs to move out..... -
Awesome job guys~~~ there is something at the cockpit area.....the virgin fly girl...or whats it called? read that Virgin Australia will have different version.
-
You guys are doing amazing job!! After Aerolineas Argentinas, now this! Kudos yo, Jonathan!! Our Oz friends are dying to know what the new livery would be like. It has been debated to death in another forum. My feeling tells me that it will be similar to the new Virgin Atlantic colours....

AirAsia says load factor good,no fuel surcharge

But leh....they put fine wordings at the bottom at the inflight menu: "All meal portion increased from May onwards" Have a look at my Nasi Briyani, took yesterday, flying BWN-KUL.. ....not very sure if it is increased though? -
wow!! hock peng....you caught it!! CONGRATS!! However, I dun think its the full livery as yet....too white....
-
Am not sure can I have one for one swap for free. Will call them tomorrow.....Begs me the question, if they know few weeks down the road, new designs will be launched they 'should' might as well wait for it....previously, you need to log certain miles, then they will send you the card. Now, once you signed up, they send you the plastic card. I doubt that I have 'that qualifying miles' to grab one. Never mind, am not complaining....hahas!!! hahas!!! then there are two millions ++ to issue: KPI#1 How many issued per month?
-
Yeap, much to my surprise as well. Would have thought they sent me the new one. Actually, I don't anticipate MH to send my Enrich plastic card at all since I always travel MH on cheap Y ticket. Poor uni student, can't purchase expensive ticket...
-
This is unfair~~~ Previously when I enrolled, I got 300 miles only!! Seems like Enrich is rolling big time~~ I got my Enrich Blue card after numerous cheap Y sectors. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

On a side note: There will be NO counter check-in for KK, Kuching, Sandakan, Sibu, Miri and Tawau effective 1st May 2011(today) onwards. Link: http://www.airasia.com/my/en/latestnews/checkincounters.page AK is gradually reducing the number of check-in counters. Wonder what will happen to all those empty counters after the expansion two years back? Only D7, Cebu Pacific and TR still use check-in counter. -

Thanks MAR for the update. Btw, can we fly from Manila to HK with Air Niugini? I saw in their timetable a while back it was one of their few international routes. -

Latest from AK: [Announcement] AirAsia Fuel Surcharge effective 3 May 2011 by AirAsia on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 6:06pm Dear fans, please be informed that AirAsia will be reintroducing fuel surcharges beginning 3 May 2011 for all domestic and international routes. The reintroduction of fuel surcharge by AirAsia is to offset the escalating jet fuel, which has exceeded USD$140 per barrel The rising jet fuel prices and the continuous upward spiral caused by the situation in the Middle East and other external factors, have made it imperative for us to reintroduce the fuel surcharge, despite our best efforts to resist it for as long as we could. We hope that this will only be a temporary measure, and AirAsia will continue to ensure our fares remain low despite the fuel surcharge, which is the lowest in the world. While other carriers were already adjusting fares and increasing fuel and admin charges to counter rising operating costs when jet fuel price went above USD$100 per barrel on 2 March this year, the strong growth of our ancillary income has helped us delay the implementation of fuel surcharge for as long as possible. As the people’s airline, we insist on being transparent and decided to announce to our guests on the reintroduction of fuel surcharge. AirAsia remains committed to its low-cost model and will not transfer the full cost of the fuel price hike to its guests, choosing instead to counter the spike by aggressively growing revenue through ancillary products and services. Our recent partnership with Expedia, the world’s largest online travel agency and other initiatives currently in the pipeline will further increase our revenue from ancillary income. AK, QZ, FD flights: between RM10-30, D7: RM 50-RM90 All flight bookings made before May 3 will not be affected by the fuel surcharge. So book your flight now on AirAsia.com to avoid paying fuel surcharge from now till May 3! Source: http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=10150163264718742&comments -
AirAsia Group/AirAsia X Group Service Changes
JuliusWong replied to Naim's topic in General Aviation
not many players pying the route, therefore I think most of their flights are full and can break even at least. Therefore now increasing capacity. Certainly don't increase the number of airlines plying the same routes, if not we will see another bloodbath..... -
MAS New 15 A330-300X + 4 A330-200 Freighter
JuliusWong replied to Mohd Azizul Ramli's topic in General Aviation
"....on par with industry bests such as SIA and Qatar Airways. This is the exact medicine required to bring MAS back to the top and we think the benefits will start to show immediately"... ...er SQ and QR....please don't give us that high hope Maybank. "..........The published list price is USD222.5m, but nobody pays list price, we believe that MAS got theirs for ±USD100m." eerr...that quite a lot of discount. "SIA should start watching its back – the hibernating airline has awoken." Thats a strong statement to make.....O.O "Based on our past flying experience, we think the hardware quality against SIA aircraft is identical." Sorry to pop the bubbles.....Select is nowhere near KrisWorld Gen 3.... MH new A333 has only 281 seats? I thought it was 283, two less than SQ's 285. I like the report....very detailed and "loads of make up.." -

Thanks for the pix. Actually, its very clear. Glad that AK didn't scrap this A320. Other A320s which are involved in incident/ accident like AHH weren't so lucky. America West, Windejet and IB's six months old A320 met the chopping block after similar fate. -

The high resolution pix does make the new J and Y seats look better. As with others, the Y class is O.O.....AWESOME!! But the pix does not reduce the impression of "cramp-ness" in J class...err..err....I think they should've gone for 1-2-1 seating arrangement as the cabin width is much narrower. and put five rows in 1L and 2L doors. This will at least help a bit in alleviating the "cramp"-looking. -
This is what I've found in the net: South African Airlines B737-85F ZS-SJI to be 9M-FFD Configuration: C32 Y125 Interior: http://img228.imageshack.us/i/southafricanairwaysb737.jpg/ Seating plan: http://img714.imageshack.us/i/southafricanairwaysb737.jpg/ ps: maybe this one is one of the two B738s that SAA forgot to renew the lease. Thanks KC Sim for the update. Would be good if they actually paint the aircraft in something breathtaking like many B737 BBJ and A320 CJ now. Even better if it is this: http://www.globalgiants.com/archives/000508.html
