  1. What an intersting development in aviation history nowadays: QR (OW) + BA (OW) EK (unaligned) + QF (OW) EY (unaligned) + AFKL/AZ (ST) + AB (OW). And BA is sponsoring QR's entry to OW........Now how do we see EK+QF alliance? OW lost KF, gain QR. Now if we can push EY into Star Alliance.......
  2. Agree with you. MH can for sure work out a favourable financial terms in leasing the B772ER. MH needs to move fast in refubishing the B772ER, ME airlines are killing every airlines almost everyday.....
  3. MH is the only airline who thinks B772ER is less fuel efficient now, much like AI blaming B777 family for loss. A33E to Europe and NZ is a bit pushing A33E's limit. B772ER would do the job perfectly. Since we will almost never see MH's livery on B773ER, I think a refurbishment is much cost effective than buying new planes.
  4. MH retains all their seats in their plane even if it is sold to other company. World Airways has few BCF with MH's J class seats on upper deck. Strip out F, J and Y class, keep some J seats, others all thrown away. The only airline that destroy their seats after retirement is SQ. Their B747-400 F class were removed and destroyed to avoid others getting onto their 'intellectual property'. J class was quite generic therefore was kept. The lady, the orang putih behind and the guy next to him most probably are Honolulu Ramp staff......
  5. 9M-MPD went Al-Wafeer as HZ-AWA3, was repainted to Tabung Haji + MAS' swoosh livery title, now with Eaglexpress as 9M-MPD. 9M-MPJ went Al-Wafeer as HZ-AWA2, was repainted into Saudi Arabian livery, re-registered as TF-AAD for Air Atlanta Icelandic. 9M-MPI went Al-Wafeer as HZ-AWA1, was repainted into Saudi Arabian livery, re-registered as TF-AAE for Air Atlanta Icelandic. None of the the Al Wafeer plane was painted back to MAS' cheatline livery as far as I know, but I am open to correction. Here is a rare picture of all three Al Wafeer B744 together at Jeddah Airport: http://www.airteamimages.com/boeing-747_HZ-AWA1_alwafeer-air_101260.html
  6. 9M-MHN Malacca 27-09-1990 VH-OEC (Stored at VCV) 9M-MHO Alor Setar 10-06-1991 VH-OED (Stored at VCV) Thanks Cheng Kit for the list. Both VH-OEC and VH-OED had been scrapped as of last year. Now Cola-Cola cans.......I think 9M-MPB and 9M-MPO might be the next two to be flown to Roswell.
  7. 9M-MPF has arrived at Roswell Industrial Airport. Judging from majority of aircraft going there, getting out would be near impossible. It was spotted at Honolulu yesterday (1st Oct, Honolulu time): http://hnlrarebirds.blogspot.com/search/label/Malaysia%20Airlines Goodbye 9M-MPF! You have served us well!
  8. Japan Airlines has rolled out all new interiors with the delivery of latest B777-346ER. One word: WOW! http://www.jal.co.jp/newsky/ss7/first/
  9. Yeap, good to see more variety of aircraft at KLIA. The initial batch of B787 has been finalised. Lion Air is getting the first five B787 of production line which are overweight. ANA, Air India, Continental and Ethiopian Airlines rejected such aircraft. Transaero Airlines is also getting some overweight B787 as well.
  10. A very good development for Malaysia aviation industry. However, DCA should approach the issue with cautious as EU has not remove Lion Air from list of blacklisted airlines yet. Moreover, every now and then we heard of safety lapses from Lion Air. On a more positive note, they will operate the fist B787, making them ahead of MH! LOLX! I just got to say it....... same time as AirAsia getting their first A350. Lets hope A350 won't face any major delay. I am not really drawn to Lion Air. My colleagues hate Lion Air due to the REALLY tight seat pitch. 28" or 29" I think. Seats literally has no cushion at all. It was a torturous two hours flight from Jakarta. I wonder how does the involvement of NADI will contribute to low cost base? Maintenance?
  11. AirAsia Group accelerates delivery of 13 A320 for this year. Most of them will be based on AirAsia Philippines, AirAsia Indonesia, Batavia Air and AirAsia Japan. Moreover, Thai AirAsia had moved their operation to Don Mueang International Airport, allowing for space for growth. The future is bright with AirAsia Group. If they are to confirm the latest A320ceo order, they will have 375 A320 on order. That's double of any legacy SEA airlines' fleet.
  12. Hahas!! Bukan no balls, better don't jump into jet operation again. MH Group will go bankrupt...The whole drama will be re-broadcast to whole world~~~
  13. Former Malaysia Airlines B737-4H6 9M-MMM Delivered to MH on 08/01/1993, onwards to Bank of Utah 21/02/2012 N146PA Ferried on 27/08/2012 Balboa, Panama to Miami International Airport. Source: Skyliner-aviation.de, planespotters.net
  14. Former Malaysia Airlines B737-4H6 9M-MQJ Delivered to MH on 01/11/1994, onwards to Pacific Airlines 06/2007 as VN-A190 Ferried on 25-26/08/2012 Dubai- Cairo- Budapest for storage prior to cargo conversion Source: Skyliner-aviation.de, planespotters.net
  15. Aigle Azur Airlines of France is planning to take second hand A330 to launch long haul services. Maybe MH's are heading there........KF's A330 fleet are now going to Arik Air.
  16. Hahas!! lolx~~ Like your comment. However, D7 needs to work out their current A330-300s as the current LCCT can no longer accommodate more A330. First sign was in 2010 when they delayed their A330 delivery to next year. Then the whole new KLIA2 drama. The retirement of A340 has free up some space for new A330. Hopefully the new KLIA2 will be completed on time for more new A330 to come over next two years. AirAsia Group rarely let their aircraft have a good rest. Just like their A320.....work till die......
  17. It will for sure be four engines......B748i for the whole. I won't be surprised if it is B747-400 also though since the acquisition value hits rock bottom now. Note that US Air Force went for B747-200 instead of B747-400 when the latter is already available for order.
  18. I don't think BI will be operating KUL with B787, maybe equipment change and during peak season. KUL is A319 and A320 routes.
  19. I think there is a fine line in making your point and inciting racism in your post. I am deeply offended by your statement. Tan Sri Tony Fernandes is born Malaysian. Stop your racism insults! Hopefully the moderator will ban such individual from our forum.
  20. RBA has started to phase out B777 fleet. First off is V8-BLD returning to Singapore Airlines as 9V-SVB, same identity before the lease.
  21. Former Malaysia Airlines B737-4H6 9M-MMV Re-registered as N102KR, onward delivery to Bank of Utah 3 August 2012
  22. Here we go, after SQ fired her first salvo, now JL. Who will be next? I hope MH's Inflight Services Experience team is now reading catalogues......
  23. At this rate we are going, FY would be better managed than MH itself. Lolx~~~~ Embraer~! Embraer~! I don't mind CSeries also though, Isaac!
  24. You know what, ET has the same J class seats on their brand new B787, delivered yesterday......
